I completely agree, I’ve finished most of the missions in the game and I’ve just been spending time playing with the fantastic beasts while thinking “ so this us what it feels like to be Newt Scamander “
Since Phoenix is basically immortal as it when it bursts into flame it just gets reborn from the ashes I named the male pheonix Fawkes for obvious reasons I wouldn’t be surprised if the Phoenix in game is in fact dumbeldores Fawkes. Shame we couldn’t find him a lady pheonix :(

If you’re trophy hunting. Switching to story mode is just the best option. Plain and simple. Relax, Riley. You’re not going to get an medal because you chose to freeze beasts instead of one of the multiple other ways to do it.
I love the graphorn it’s everything I wanted from a fantastic beast in this game a massive Intimidating animal that you can ride on and fight with that feature really made the game a 10 out of 10 for me
Everyone keeps saying how good the water looks. I wish it looked exactly like in AC Odyssey, but that you could swim under and on a graphorn like in what was it Fantastic Beasts 2? Almost every other game including Ocarina on Time 20 plus years ago allowed that. They must have been rushed at the end. It's a shame, there should have been gillyweed potions with durations, not a poster on the wall.
Hippogriffs you get both male and female from doing rescue story mission. Same with niffler I believe. And unicorns I caught one of each on a mission as well. Kneazle is one I haven’t seen though. And I gotta get another graphorn as well
beasts are easy to find. I have a bunch of kneazles. I was wonderig where they were too, but you can just hover over the paw print icons and it will tell you what beasts can be found there.
Although it is quite overwhelming, since there are no ways currently available to filter out other icons, and there's way too many icons to look at all at once. Hopefully that will be remedied in the future.

@@giraffe6856 Think graphorn. AC odyssey and Fenyx Rising did unicorns as a horse look, it's the pegasus they screwed up. It's begging to be a real one so it can just fly. In the areas they wanted climbing done they could have just disabled landing like this one, or Everquest 2. It's a shame overall in those Ubisoft games, and no mods to fix it from what I saw years after still.
Nice guide, Lunar, and a good watch with the locations included too. And yes, you show us how to breed the animals (although the game teaches us to do this as well - more or less, anyway). But where do you go to find more Phoenix birds? Is there a den somewhere on the map? Also, one thing that nobody seems to cover is which animals to put in what vinariums. I've noticed that you can't breed them all in just any vinarium, some just won't turn up when you open the breeding enclosure interface. There are four animals that fit with each of the vinariums, and that's a lot of animals to move around until you've found the right one where you can breed them. Thank you for the video/guide. PS. Also, yeah I know, it's kind'a stupid, but I like to think I've put the animals in the environment where they would really thrive, and I have this idea that the reason you can't breed them in whichever vinarium you choose to place them in is that they only thrive in the right place, like animals in real life.
You can't breed a phoenix as it's Born from its own ashes. And you can only get one phoenix, wouldn't be surprised if the phoenix we rescued was Fawkes.

You can have 4 species and 12 all together, if you want it even you could do 3 of each, 1 normal, 1 shiny, 1 offspring/special (some quests can give you a unique named creature, or you can have a baby one)
There's also unique named creatures I'm quests you can keep, biscuit- the mooncalf, the Irondale pilfer and rococo- nifflers, and gyweniver- the dirical(teleport dodos)
is there shinies or sum cuz I just saw 2 with a lil like plus sign next to the gender, and they're also a different color, I got a sweet looking black female hippogriff.
One of the most annoying things in story-driven games is putting the best/coolest etc mount, weapon, etc at the end of the game. You have very little time to enjoy it before the game is done.

No you can't, you get it for 12. Did you breed a graphorn? Try checking unicorns too, those 2 are harder to get the other gender for, takes many tries.

You can't it's at the very end showing just that one. And no mod yet either, it feels like another scraped thing to get the game out by the 7th whatever the cost. Any updates they do is still to fix the bugs. Expect it as another DLC using the work they already half finished pre launch. I didn't get their thestral mount one, but this I'd be tempted to.

@@Always_Cool I can’t remember if they have any but the only place that might have them is the shop in hogsmeade called brood and peck. Otherwise you’ll just have to wait for the timer to run out after collecting the one feather
@@Always_Cool By feeding and brushing your Phoenix you can get more feathers (Once you fed and brushed him you can collect them. it has a cooldown though so you have to wait befor collecting again.)

Collectible trophy is bugged. Patch is live on pc/xbox. PS5 patch coming in next few days As for the breed trophy, go back and double check which beasts you’ve bred. I bet you’re missing something
Is there a way to make a pen the animals can't escape? I tried fencing them but when you leave the area they spawn out when you come back in. Finding the snake animals can be annoying sometimes.

I got a male after many females twice the second was for the 4th vivarium. It can be done, it's just slow. Sell the spare fems at Peck, and keep trying.

there is quest for a named female unicorn, that a lady gives in one of the towns She has you track her down to protect her from poachers, after being injured protecting the lady from wolves

Can u really use levioso to capture creatures?? Lol, I've been usin disillusionment & accio this whole time. Sumtimes i gotta try catching up to the creature a 2nd or 3rd time to try sealing the deal with a successful capture. So annoying sumtimes.
Just make it a point to go there every so often. I finished the game yesterday morning and it took me days (after getting the nap sack ) to find a male. I started the quest before my friend and he had 2 unicorns (one a male) before me, as soon as he started his. Lol.

did you make sure that you had both genders and in the same dome? if so then it might be a bug or you unlock it from a quest, although i doubt the latter

Just a friendly heads up. You cannot get Graphorn early. They will not spawn in the world until you clear the mission where they appear.

Also pro tip you can use glacius to feeeze the animal you’re trying to capture in place to make it easy to catch them
Sounds cruel, I personally use Aresto Momentum to get closer and when I am close to them I use Levioso and it gives enough time to catch them

If you’re going for the breeding quest, you don’t need the phoenix. Phoenix’s aren’t bred, they’re reborn from their own ashes

No but as you progress you unlock more vivariums
You can have multiple of the same species if you didn’t know because I didn’t the first time I got it lol

Keep trying is how. They do pop. Quck travel between long distances, use wait on the map, get the repops. In my case the unicorns were a pain.

There's only 13 creatures in the game you can keep, 2 of which are locked behind quests (the phoenix and the graphorn)

You can but not until later in the story. There will be a mission where thats exactly what you have to do.

You can’t breed the Phoenix. You can only get the feathers from the one you have unfortunately.

I got a male after many females twice the second was for the 4th vivarium. It can be done, it's just slow. Sell the spare fems at Peck, and keep trying.

They aren’t all males i think, I think that the unicorns and graphorns is a chance sorta there is a chance you get a make and a chance you get a female

there is quest for a named female unicorn, that a lady gives in one of the towns
She has you track her down to protect her from poachers, after being injured protecting the lady from wolves

Go to a unicorn den at night, if its female just try on a different night. They exist ,I have one.
When I try to capture a animal, like a Unicorn, I have to press square 6 times. Why can you just capture pressing one time? Its the difficult?
Story mode, then for the fights you can switch back.

i’ve had kin of multiple species for about 3-4 irl days now, if they do grow it is very VERY slow

@@kamariwright5668 that’s the EXACT same thing I did. At LEAST 3 hours trying different shiny color combs and lining up the younglings to try to find the ultra shiny. Had a blast doing it. But it’s for nothing. Unless you can buy something to feed it to them to make them grow? First time ever I haven’t been able to find an answer on a game ever😂😂

they must have changed something because I don't have the gripphorn yet and I already have phoenix, got the side quest for it after the fifth last mission.
You’ll get it after getting to the last 3 missions of the game

From what I heard you can breed them every 30 minutes sell one for 120 for each offspring

Can u really use levioso to capture creatures?? Lol, I've been usin disillusionment & accio this whole time. Sumtimes i gotta try catching up to the creature a 2nd or 3rd time to try sealing the deal with a successful capture. So annoying sumtimes.

Just make it a point to go there every so often. I finished the game yesterday morning and it took me days (after getting the nap sack ) to find a male. I started the quest before my friend and he had 2 unicorns (one a male) before me, as soon as he started his. Lol.

I read the day night cycle makes a difference, so i tried both. And after 8 female unicorns i instantly got a male.

did you make sure that you had both genders and in the same dome? if so then it might be a bug or you unlock it from a quest, although i doubt the latter

Winter is not true around halloween I finished with the unicorn you get deeks quest shortly after you go to beast class for the 1st time.

You can't, you can buy the mats from it off of 3 merchants. It's slow but doable. the achievement is for 12 species.

He's playing on story mode so it's super easy

Oh yeah the second opens up once you get your hippogriff mount Highwing. There are 4 total at the end, enough for 48 pets.

Play it on story mode when capturing beasts it eliminates that BS mini-game just like with lock-picking which becomes annoying.

@@mahritty But Diek the house elf mentioned a female of a phoenix his former master tried to catch before he died. So it would be a good quest to free a phoenix from cruel poachers who hit it to make it cry in order to get phonenix tears.
@@karolinakuc4783 Probably a scrapped quest just like the golden snitch prompt, and the animation of you catching it if you don't load. So you run around the room searching, then google to find out it's just not there. I bet in a year both will be there, 20 dollars each.
