Glad your safe bud! Conditions can change by a blink of an eye. Glad you had a buddy system as well. Im sure it couldve been worst without your friend. Stay safe out there!
Hey buddy, I follow your RUclips videos and I'm so glad you had your buddy with you, this could of been really bad. I'm glad you were able to get back on the kayak and made it to shore, the weather could get very bad, real fast. I thank you so much for sharing this video with us, it's a learning experience for everyone to always have a buddy system. God bless you my brother. 💯💪🎣🐋🐟👍👍👍
Hi I've been watching your videos. I'm glad you're okay! I have an inflatable boat. Always watch the sea for wind and waves when you go out fishing! Safety first.
Man you are one lucky guy, I'm glad for you that you alright, Gotta keep 6 eyes out here with that kind of weather, stay safe buddy fishing is good but life is much better!
Glad your safe, Rods and gear can always be replaced. 3 important words I always keep in mind when I'm out on long Island sound fishing in my 13' Predator, Small Craft Advisory. Again, Thank God you got back safe.
I had the same thing happen to me down by the mouth of the Connecticut River and it can be pretty scary. Thank God you are safe and don't let it spook you. Now you will be prepared
Glad everything worked out . Thanks for sharing the good the bad and the ugly !!! Thank God your friend was with you . !!! With that out the way great video !!! Keep safe and fish on my friend!!!!
I was out there with you, but not that close to you I didn’t even see that happen because of the waves and wind. Thank you for sharing the video. I appreciate the peoples give the ideas and advices on the comments and I am so glad that you are ok
Lots of good comments. And I like your attitude of lesson learned and humility. Glad you’re safe. An observation. A following sea is like beach landing, which is very difficult and you can flip easily, me included. Another idea is to practice getting back on your kayak. I’ve literally taken my kayak in the pool in the backyard and worked on flipping it right side over and getting back in the kayak. I can do it in about four seconds. You could think about practicing getting back on the kayak in a safe situation. Anyway, great job. I’m glad you’re safe.
The respect you now have for the sea should have been what you had before ever going out sea fishing. Glad you survived. Lots of errors, lessons learned
Hi I've been watching your videos. I'm glad you're okay! I have an inflatable boat. Always watch the sea for wind and waves when you go out fishing! Safety first.
Jesus man, glad you're okay! I wouldn't be out in that weather, but you do look well equipped for it! I haven't fallen off my fishing kayak yet but the effort of trying to get back in does not look fun!
Thank you so much 🙏i really appreciated. you absolutely right its doesn’t looks fun but most importantly you don’t get panic you can flip your kayak back.🙏🙏🙏🎣
Glad you are safe. I've been kayak fishing offshore i Hobies for around 15 years, and have been rolled out once - due to taking a dumb risk fishing a bombie and paying the price. It's a horrible experience. Now, without wanting to be holier than thou, but purely objective in a friendly way, I really think this was a great example of why not to use electric motors offshore. In swell, you need to have as much control of your speed as possible and be able to back off immediately if you feel a wave pick you up. Hobies do not surf well and if you do get picked up, as soon as you drop the fins, your basically introducing a skeg at the front that will want to spin the hull - like doing a back- to-front take off on a mal. Each to their own - if you want electric motors offshore, then make sure you have a throttle you can instantly control. All the best though.
Thank you so much for the knowledge and the experience i really appreciated. i have learned a lot from that experience. i was thinking the same thing i should have killed the motor 🙏
LG, Very good points about Hobies surfing with swells/waves from behind. A few weeks ago on the way in, my Lynx was basically surfing, I watched my speed and made sure I was nearly perpendicular to the waves from behind. I think I could have flipped, but was luckily enough to get closer to shore and the winds were less. Lesson learned, I won’t be hanging around if the weather changes….
Thanks for sharing this incident, happy you are ok. I had a similar situation this year (no overturn) with weather change and seas from behind on the way back. I was fortunate to not flip.
You had a great day fishing it happens to a lot of people you were setting hooks all day and you didn't want it to end and you probably were in water you wouldn't have been in if you weren't catching fish. That was some awesome camera work, and you handled it well . And remember, always fish with your buddy. I'm glad you're ok. their are videos on how to get back in a kayak when you flip . You did a great job staying alive
First time viewer, I really appreciate you sharing this video. It would be nice to have a follow up video with your thoughts on what you learned and what you would do differently. Thank God you are safe.🙏
I'm glad you're safe. If you've motorize that Hobie, you should consider switching to an old town auto pilot. It is heavier and slower, but has spot lock and a lot more stable than the hobby since it's about 3 inches wider. I switched from the outback to the auto pilot because the hobie felt sketchy in rough water with lots of body roll. I still have the hobie but only use it in rivers and marshes. I prefer the AP136 in open water. You should check one out.
When the wind kicks up that can happen. I lost all my rods on a capsize in 25 mph wind and whitecaps. Watching the video I noticed you really struggled to re-enter the kayak. Jeez, you really need to praactice unassisted re-entry.
@llfisherman2586 I didn't have video but my wife flap her kayak yesterday too and it was very nice out.. don't need the waves to flap.. it can happen any time..
Glad you are ok. Good thing it wasn't your friend that went into the water. Those waders he's wearing would have filled up with water and he would have sunk to the bottom of the ocean like a rock. Never wear waders while kayaking.

That yak way to top heavy! You need to unload all your stuff and go practice rollovers somewhere safe.. You have to be able to get back in the yak in less than one minute! If you can't physically or something at least get the pontoons for the yak so you don't flip!
You cheap out on the motor rig causing imbalance to the left thus you had to lean on the right. You can afford outback, you can afford another $1500 proper motor rig setup. Also, wetsuit, not dry suit
@@llfisherman2586 I have outback with new port nk180 motor setup (this is a budget friendly brand). You can add hobie sidekick to stabilize. I have sidekick but rarely use them. Most importantly, don’t go out if swell is above 4. I stopped going out if above 3.
You are definitely a danger to yourself but also to your friend who was with you. 😮 every kayaker knows to check the weather prior to going. I love fishing but this was stupid on your half. lol thanks for showing to show my kids what NOT to do. Aye Uncle
I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for the love 💕 care and concern of well being. I really appreciated can’t never say thank enough 🙏🙏🙏
Please tell your friend not to wear weighters on a kayak!

Be careful and safe. I’m glad you’re okay 👍 . It’s more easy if you get in from back of the kayak.
Thank you brother 🙏
Crazy,
Glad you made it out there we can all learn from it.
Thanks 🙏 i learned a lot 😁

Good thing you were not alone. Shouldn't have been out there in those high winds.
Thank you 🙏
Always the wave from behind that gets ya - stinks about the gears but that can be replaced
i know next time i try to face the wave 🙏
Unless really calm. I won't go out without outriggers. at least you have a good excuse to get new gears , lol
Thanks 🙏 😁
I don’t think I would kayak without a recovery strap. RUclips kayak recovery strap.
yes i saw that thanks 🙏
