Thanks mate. I have to say that about 10 minutes after doing the vlog on Saturday it felt like a weight had lifted from my sholders.
I'm keeping busy at the moment and a few days off around the bank holiday so hopefully out on the bike, if you're free let me know.

to be honest its not something I understand luckily I have never suffered from depression.
a few years ago my wife suffered from depression and it was horrendous. the hardest part for me was being totally helpless and not being able to do anything what so ever and just having to stand by and watch .
The anger and rage that my wife showed towards me because of this you would not believe .
we have discussed it and she said the main thing for her was that she was so used to me having a solution to problems and supporting her but in this case in her view I just abandoned her and let her get on with it on her own.
is there a cause for this ? or is it something that just happens.
I know that each person is different so an answer one person gives may not apply to another .
I have read that its a chemical imbalance in the brain that causes it but im still no wiser
Good on you buddy for sharing
hopefully it will make us more understanding and wiser because of this upload
    Rsmf and take care

Skunk Darkstone For me I believe it started when my wife (at the time) started having seizures (all though she was already ill) which meant that my brain changed the way I slept. I didn't realise this and it was when I was in councilling (3 months later) that I found out, that my brain would not let me go into a deep sleep so that if anything happened during the night I was more aware. All I knew was that I went to bed tired, then got up to go to work still tired as though I hadn't had any sleep.
I really struggled to talk to my wife as I was supposed to be strong for her in her time of need and for 3 months after I was diagnosed she was in hospital. I wanted to be around people so that the 'bad thoughts' would stay away but when I was around people I just wanted to be alone (hope that makes sense). I don't think coming home to an empty house helped in that sense.
I think there are many triggers for depression like you said and each person has a situation that will be unique to them. I hope that things are in a better place for you two, I would just say that sometimes it's not being there saying the right things to the person in need, just being there for support. If that makes sense.
      RS

      yes it does
it makes a lot of sense also the other person knowing that you are supporting them
what you have written has helped me understand a little more and has put my mind at rest with some of the decisions I have made.
yes we are in a far better place now in many ways stronger than before
trial by fire as it were
I guess sometimes you have to hit rock bottom to realise the good things that you have .
sure we had hard times but I am so glad that both of us stuck it out and wouldn't change her for the world .
As she is my rock and although I flirt banter ect I would be lost without her .
I do think deep down she knows this but we still have to tweak each others tails occasionally don't we ?
      keeps things fun and interesting.
thanks for taking the time my friend you have helped a great deal
Ride safe bro and take care

Skunk Darkstone Anytime mate, I can only speak of my experience, but always here if you need a chat.
Glad you two are stronger and I agree sometimes hitting rock bottom certainly helps focus the mind on the important things.RS
