I hope they don't make the same mistake as back then, where they followed it up with a stupidly strong set. The entire year of the raven felt like a deliberate attempt to slow down the power creep of the previous year, but they sadly didn't follow through with it the next year.
It makes no sense to me because festival of legends was pretty weak and they decided to follow it up with Titans which was insanely strong. How can you print value cards in a meta with hyper aggro, inevitable combo decks and infinite value cards in multiple classes.
I feel like most people don’t get why rastakhan’s rumble was so bad. It wasn’t just that the card quality was below average, it was also because every class had 2-3 different archetypes with 0 synergy with each other. Like even though the quality of these hunter cards are bad at least they synergize with each other unlike druid from rastakhan where the only card connecting big beast druid and hero power Druid was exactly Gonk.
which is sad, because i really enjoyed the theme of both of them. At least this one doesn't feel completely unbuffable... i went through some rastakhan cards, thinking about potential caverms of time-style buffs, and boy is it bad.
I think everyone forgot but hunter got the card “Bestial Madness” which gives +1 attack to all minions in the hand, deck, and battlefield. I can see Bovine Skeleton being actually playable, I wouldn’t just write it off
@SorthenDaniel I was just talking about that particular card because I can see it slotting into any tempo/aggro deck if it happens to have bestial madness or bananas In it 🤷♂️ that’s all You started ranting about the new slower hunter archetypes just in-general and I wasn’t talking about that
Legit better to just run mech hunter with bestial madness than this. I also tech 2 hollow hounds and "always a bigger jormunger" in there for Otks. This value cow is a joke compared to what a card like that can do with buffs. Even just any minion with rush, is better than the cow. I will try some jankass deathrattle shell, like I usually do, but it looks mid
I think, if blizzard wanna make slow-value-over- time mata it's a great thing. But to that could ever work they would need to nerf bioluminescence and Sif by at least two mana and possibly even some other otk stuff. Or they would need to print something like a highlander neutral with an effect double your hero's health or something like that. Otherwise it's doomed to fail.
Since trump always had hope for value decks in the past and they never worked out maybe this time trumps cynicism will lead to the golden age of value decks
Their intention to slow down the game is clear, the number of high tempo decks, Combo, otk was getting out of control. They need to start the slow down on some set, and it looks like this was the chosen one. The set may not make sense now, but in two expansions the game will be much healthier.

Quickdraw hunter would have been a better archetype. Such a good opportunity but blizzard missed it.
