I loved that we knew we were fighting the lich king, he had such a presence throughout every zone, it really hyped it up, for me it'll always be my favourite expansion.
I'm glad these two made it into the game, but you're right, vrykul raid would be great (maybe something like taking over the island off the coast of northern Icecrown)
In all honesty, they could've slightly extended ToC and had it have multiple bosses after the floor breaks and you drop. It could've shown more of the Nerubian empire in a Raid format and still end with Anub'arak.
Naxxramas was a warranted return, due to the tiny amount of people that got to experience it. What was not warranted was making it extremely easy. It is in fact, laughably easy. Some private servers tune up TBC values by 10-20%, well not in Wotlk naxx. Wotlk naxx are often just straight up 200% values on certain private servers.
I think most people would want an Azjol-Nerub raid and a Gundrak raid before Vrykul, who at least got two dungeons. But like all the cut content in wrath it wasn't a missed opportunity so much as being so ambitious it was never going to be fit into their established release schedule. It's a shame they felt they had to release it then because so many people regretted not having more opportunity to run Black Temple.
They had Drakkari, Vrykul, and Nerubian raids planned with Azjol-Nerub being an entire zone. To put it simply, it was too much for Blizz to do. Imo ToC was just rejected world bosses or from cancelled raids.
In Wraith I feel like they put a lot of time in the landscape and in making the sky beautiful to watch. That one reason to like Wraith. Just look at Storm Peaks
7:50 Oh god, i hate Oculus so much I still remember the dozens of times my party leaving dungeon and me having to solo the first 3 bosses in addition to using the green drake and spamming 1 button while kiting the last boss for 15 minutes all alone.
My favorite expansion , best hunter pets , dual spec. , priest and druid healing was really fun , best raids , hemet nesingwary quests in stranglethorn vale .
What I love about WotLK was shadow priest got their first AOE. It was great!!! I loved so much more about it than I really knew, I was suddenly very popular be cause of the change of shadow priest. With not only that but the ability to aide with mana regen when in a group.
10:10 They won't send some randoms to fight the Lich King but only those heroes who can survive Path of Frost (a.k.a. your dk guildie thinking a 10 years old joke is funny).
I liked the Oculus as well, no matter what people felt about it. Especially if the group had some clue how to use the mounts and such properly. I also really did like the idea of Glyphs, even if they became such a cluster fuck as the expansions went on.
Tons of other rotations that became much more fun *shows footage of lock spamming incinerate no different than fire locks in BC* :D Joking nice video man!
Don't forget the achievement system, that was one of the best things they released in WoW. It gave you something to work towards on those days you didn't feel like PvP or PvE or just those days where you can only play 20 minute.
arthas came out in Warcraft 3 2002. You finally get to kill him in wrath ICC patch 2009. This is why wrath is the #1 expansion. Cataclysm and patches after are WoW2
I don't think Glyphs were added until Cata, right? They were originally going to be the Path of the Titans system, and then changed to Prime, Major, and Minor glyphs.
I started early BC and never raided beyond Kara. Wrath was where my raiding took off and I loved it. I'm going to say that in some ways I liked Wrath more, and in others I liked BC more. BC felt more rpg-ish, plus it was a lot of discovery and adventure for me. Wrath was a blast when it came to combat and gameplay. Edit after watching: I loved all Wrath dungeons. They are my favorite in this game... Including Occulus.
Dungeons were really well tuned in early wrath. Fresh 80 halls of lightning and other lvl 80 dungeons still provided the right amount of challenge. You would be hitting heroics after dinging 80 pretty quickly, and they didn't feel as punishing as TBC heroics in bad gear AND they actually dropped better gear than TBC heroic (as wrath heroics actually drop higher ilvl blues than non-heroic lvl 80 dungeons). Gearing up for the first 1-2 weeks when hitting lvl 80 in wrath was a total blast back in the day. I feel like a big reason wrath dungeons became face rolled as quickly as they did is wrath's gear power spike was very significant with a good 40-60% increase in damage every raid tier (4-5K -> 6-7K -> 8-9K -> 13-16K). When ICC dungeons first came out they were also super well tuned and a blast to play.
Hehe hell yeah dude, great server! Too bad it shit the bed when their new server launched and most people left, and that new server just couldn't quite get off the ground. I really miss that old wrath server, it was by far my favourite with a pretty decent community and excellent scripting.
Classic and TBC would have greatly benefited from LFG ( making us not have to rely on a clunky "bulletin board" addon ) honestly, as much as i liked the social aspect of forming groups in 2005-2007, it really just didn't have a place in classic / tbc any more and so many times i would be on wanting to do a dungeon but being drowned out by spam in channels and finding the bulletin board addon annoying to have to browse i more often than not just decided against it and did some thing else. I feel a lot shared that experience and reluctance, its not 2005 any more, it would have been healthy for the game, irrelevant of the "no-change" crowd (we got many changes) Equally the same case could be made for Dual-spec. Definitely should have been in TBC classic, but WOTLK isn't too far away now.
During the CoS (Culling of Stratholme) dungeon you get a "special" buff that transform you in a human to stick to the story of the lore. From the Wiki: Night Elf, Draenei, and all Horde player characters will receive the "Human Illusion" buff from the bronze dragonflight for this instance, as the aforementioned races were either unknown or hostile to the Eastern Kingdoms at the time of the Culling.
Hey Hamsterwheel, what would you say is your #1 private server recommendation for my wife and I who want to level on wow together. We want a difficult leveling experience ideally with definitely x1 xp. We played classic wow for quite a bit and enjoyed it and would be open to it again! Thanks!
I’ve only ever played on one BC private server, and that’s Endless. It’s set at 5x xp but after you login you can turn it down to 1x. The communication the mods have with the community is what’s so great about the server in my opinion. I’ve submitted multiple bug reports (that weren’t bugs they were me being a noob) and I got a personalized response based on my report within an hour. Considering there are thousands of players online at a time, I felt pretty good about that. Anyways, I’d recommend giving it a go.
Lich king will always be the best expansion to me. Nothing was too rushed, shit was balanced pretty well. People werent so toxic back then. Had the most fun creating groups for dungeons and raids.
@Hamsterwheel if you are gonna make a more in detpht rewive on the server warmane Frostmorne server my guild will most likely be happy to bring you for a few raids on horde side if youre intersted let me know
I loved the bump in class rotations, game just felt like it got a ton of quality of life improvements, personally i love the boomkin rotation, fun single target and INSANE aoe damage. Not to mention my favorite class is warrior and fury dps felt good. Also ret paladins actually became more than just buffers and did serious damage. Still play WOTLK on Warmane private server and play every class just jumping back in forth because there are all enjoyable. Not something i could say about Vanilla or TBC
People hated occulus because before the update where vehicles scaled with gear your whole group could be bis and not do any better with the dragons than a naked group so your random group had to actually do mechanics also flame Leviathan was one of the hardest hardmodes if you left every tower up
I started in Wrath, for a long time it was the best ever expect, but now after all those years, I prefer Cata. Everyone hates it but I had the most fun in Cata.
You should try Cata as well, servers are working great and Cata is a better WotLK in terms of leveling zones, raid and dungeon mechanics, systems and class design/rotations with one less raid tier sadly, which ultimately makes it an overall worse expansion at the time of release, but in a fully progressed server or a progressing private server it's awesome.
i want to play wow on a private server but im not sure on which. do you have some recommendations? i dont care about expansion as long as it have decent population and i can have fun with some friends.Il be very thankful for some recommendations
Warmane has a larger population, but it’s Warmane... Sunwell’s Frosthold realm is just about to reach ToC before next month, so it’s the perfect time to jump in. Plus a free 5 day double exp bonus right now
@@robbruh1661 Nah, I raided with multiple warrior dps all the way through Naxx/Ulduar/ToC and they always did pretty well. Even if this was my last expansion, and not my favorite one (after five years it just was enough) but the best feature ever in all of Wow was brought here. The Dual spec was needed before of that, because of the strict differences in pvp and pve. I´m not playing pvp in classic because it would destroy my raid Spec, and i don´t have the time anymore to farm for hours just to get gold for all the stuff :/
if anyone got hyped by that video, might as well try the Frostmourne realm on warmane. its progressive lk with lots of players online, currently on naxx and ulduar in about a month.
@@ivory9494 Yep I agree with Joaquin. It's still a good server but the shop is definitely something I'm not a fan of. I grew tired of seeing braindead ret pallies with Glorenzelg and shitty greens in random dungeons.
I play on Frosthold. No gear on item shop.. Kinda fresh(toc coming next).got a solid 3-4k players at peak times and you can get an xp boost for free if you go now on their website and collect it
If you only spammed starfire as a boomkin in TBC, you played your class wrong. Wrath has better dps coefficiency than Starfire until Nature's Grace procs, which is when you blast away your starfire, and then continue with wrath.
Am I was very few people that despite someone that likes playing while classic still thinks they should have dual spec in their. I know #NoChangesButIDontKnowIDontSeeADownsideToThatInClassicWowOrInFactAnyExpansionInWhileBecauseQuiteHonestly. The only reason they didn't probly have something like that then there are initially was because of technical limitations. I don't Now part of me still just feels that that should be in the game just my opinion though
Tier 6 / sunwell tbc raiding is the best, but overall PVP, balancing, rotations, gearing progression / dual spec, alt friendly, comfortability, achievements -- and just general outside of raid content.. and don't get me wrong, amazing raids too (ulduar) WOTLK wins out overall #1 Right now im raid logging on TBC and pretty bored, i always considered it #1 with wrath a close second, but after classic wotlk i might have to change WOTLK to #1
Just my opinion and I still save us I think Razzle which king was the best expansion ever. Something you didn't mention but it's How I feel all the classes feel well complete. Let's be honest and classic there were certain specs that you just could not do much with at least not unless you were already in a Guild. Protection paladin Retribution paladin Boom Ken. And I would even say elemental and enhancement sharman's also fall in this category to. You'd have a really hard time came to rate spot especially for a pug group now yes classic is a very different game than original. But if I'm honest if I had it my way I don't know how they could do it but I would love to do BC and classic with wrath of the lich king talent trees and yes I'm very aware there's a million and one different reasons why that doesn't work. But it's still a nice thought me personally and I've said this if I could make one change if I had 1 change I could put from retail in to classic it would be Dual spec. I honestly don't see a badd reason had I'm still apparently me and a lot of other people are arguing for it for Classic burning crusade. Honestly no changes I feel as hurt the game dramatically I think the original PVP system is talk's sake and just badd game design. And I think it should have been changed but I digress Is bc A wonderful expansion no question. But that doesn't mean it doesn't have it's problems and I'm not rose tinted enough Or naive enough to say oh yeah it was completely perfect no it wasn't. A lot of classes built better yes but they still felt half done and yeah I'll say it Our paladin is the biggest offenders of this. I would say yes and no I'm not can say played every single class and raided with every single class I mained a retribution paladin back then. So I'm not gonna hide My biased a little on the same and it's no secret that They're not exactly known further damage. At most on average are proudly bringing maybe one to possibly 2 retribution paladins. And I would say fury Warriors in arms Warriors are probly a little bit higher up on the chain but not by Much. Yeah I know BC is not a mean way friendly expansion yes it gets better but I still feel paladins felled in a much more complete place as most classes dead in wrath. Am I hives for TVC yes do I want changes yes mother of pearl yes Anyway just my opinion on the matter
Love ur vids but as a veteran of this expansion i felt like u were saying "What I love about life is that you start of as a cute small baby and you make your way to adoulthood which I really like. Also there is a lot of flexibility on what can you do." U get it? xD sry if im s bit harsh, just that hearing talk about glyphs, well whats so special about them? About dungeons? Nothing special. Culling of strat? War3 was my childhood and culling was a shit long no nostalgia dung for me. Im not critisizing just pointing out my thoughts. Im sure for ppl who didnt play wow this was entertaining.
Back in the days i was a Wrath-Baby Tell me more of that u fcker after Wod, Legion and Bfa But even Pandaria and Cata are now cool, cant wait to see people liking Legion and Bfa as they to with Cata and Mop^^
I really loved BfA with the fantastic endgame features like azerite gear and corruptions. If you didn't like it then your just jealous you could never understand it!!!!
Wrath has great class gameplay but overall imo it lacks in content compared to other expansions. Dungeons were too easy and so was Naxx. ToC was disappointing. Ulduar was one of the best raids they've ever made. ICC was good but wasn't on the scale that ulduar was. I like having difficult dungeons, and that's why I think a lot of people like TBC. It's much more rewarding progression wise in TBC than wrath. Wrath has absurd catch up dungeons, cheap badge gear, laughable HC dungeons that feed epics. It's too much the other way. But I prefer wrath class gameplay more. I've played Cata-Legion and they both felt sort of lifeless, not much weight to your character or the game world. Wrath you feel like you have weight, similar to TBC and Vanilla. Anyway I think with Wrath gameplay and TBC progression system you have the best version of WoW.
If blizzard re releases wrath they should change it so it has no heirlooms and lfd apart from those things wrath was fantastic because i love achievements and being able to lock my xp.
actually blizz can pretty much follow the same timeline as they did back in woltk, i mean, there was no LFD until 3.3.0 so, that means LFD pretty much almost at the end of the xpac.
While its my most experienced and largest time investments back in the day and on private servers I really dislike WOTLK. Im sick of unfiltered naxxramas. It was easy and boring on release and even if its mega buffed on private servers still very boring. I enjoy Molten Core more than wotlk Naxx and thats saying a lot. ToGC had a few fun fights namely Anub but being stuck to one raid zone and having mediocre fights wasn't interesting. Nor was the fact that this raid lasted longer than Ulduar. ICC is overhyped and unfun. Lich King, and a handful of fights are really cool and well done. Everything else is really just unfun. Especially the first wing and the rotface/festergut fights. Heroics can be replaced with target dummies as far as im concerned. I never hated heroics moreso than in this expansion. You have to be braindead to die/wipe to some of these instances. HoR wasn't hard in the least and really spoke volumes how far the standard became when people complained about it in late wotlk. Makes for a very very boring early start to WOTLK coupled with naxx when all you have to look forward to is Ulduar. That said Ulduar is the highlight imo. Really fun but a really short raid tier sadly. OS3D was cool and malygos was alright too. The pvp seasons were okay outside of how unfun and broken early DK was. The zones were really awesome and fit really well too. I liked them all outside of icecrown and storm peaks. Overall though its like C+ expansion to me really. I actually enjoyed cataclysm more than wrath...at least early cataclysm. Their heroics were very fun until they got nerfed (i say this as a healer and tank main during this time, people bitched so hard but towards the end people started to realize you couldn't just get free loot and aoe the heroic down like you did in wotlk and were starting to adjust, although healer mana was a bit much imo and deserved to get buffed), BoT/BWD were decent raids, Firelands was dope. LFR/Dragon soul and the ZG/ZA remakes were kicks to the nuts though and the reason its so awful. To me at least.
I agree with pretty much all you said. Tbc and even classic was more rewarding taking down bosses due to its difficultly at the time. Heroics were much harder in tbc and I never liked having heroic raids. Classes look more balanced in wrath though, but dks were way too strong. I really dislike dailies, I rather do my own thing and I like that about classic. Lfg system was the start of a downfall and destroying the community and what killed raiding for me in cataclysm due to lfr.
I loved that we knew we were fighting the lich king, he had such a presence throughout every zone, it really hyped it up, for me it'll always be my favourite expansion.
What I like about World of Warcraft is The Wrath of The Lich King =P

I´m not playing pvp in classic because it would destroy my raid Spec, and i don´t have the time anymore to farm for hours just to get gold for all the stuff :/
My favorite expansions are 1. Woltk 2.bc 3.vanilla
if anyone got hyped by that video, might as well try the Frostmourne realm on warmane. its progressive lk with lots of players online, currently on naxx and ulduar in about a month.
The shop on warmane is a huge turn off for me, and I have multiple 80s geared on icecrown
Wrath has better dps coefficiency than Starfire until Nature's Grace procs, which is when you blast away your starfire, and then continue with wrath.
spamming wrath is way too mana expensive to do in many fights so no, starfire is your best bet in most fights especially for anything pre tier 5
What I like about mists of Pandaria would be a rather short video
Am I was very few people that despite someone that likes playing while classic still thinks they should have dual spec in their.
I know #NoChangesButIDontKnowIDontSeeADownsideToThatInClassicWowOrInFactAnyExpansionInWhileBecauseQuiteHonestly.
The only reason they didn't probly have something like that then there are initially was because of technical limitations.
I don't Now part of me still just feels that that should be in the game just my opinion though
Tier 6 / sunwell tbc raiding is the best, but overall PVP, balancing, rotations, gearing progression / dual spec, alt friendly, comfortability, achievements -- and just general outside of raid content.. and don't get me wrong, amazing raids too (ulduar) WOTLK wins out overall #1
Right now im raid logging on TBC and pretty bored, i always considered it #1 with wrath a close second, but after classic wotlk i might have to change WOTLK to #1
Just my opinion and I still save us I think Razzle which king was the best expansion ever.
The Occulus was perfectly fine if you're group knew what they were doing. Otherwise... It was a shit show.
It was just too long
i don't like dungeon in space
Wotlk best expansion for me. Only minus really is easy dungeons after get some gear
Back in the days i was a Wrath-Baby
Tell me more of that u fcker after Wod, Legion and Bfa
But even Pandaria and Cata are now cool, cant wait to see people liking Legion and Bfa as they to with Cata and Mop^^
I really loved BfA with the fantastic endgame features like azerite gear and corruptions. If you didn't like it then your just jealous you could never understand it!!!!
Everything about wotlk is great. Except for heirlooms and LFG. To me it was the beginning of the end.
in tbc im going enhance in wotlk im going ele
Elemental is good for pvp but don't expect to top the damage meters playing it on pve.
Having an ele shaman gear and playing resto is blasphemy... :)
wrath of the lich king is the easiest expansion relative to the time that it was released, thats why people like it
Wotlk will be perfect if human lost their op racial for pvp and item lvl capped at 270.
Wotlk=the best pvp! But dungeons lost their Charm...
Fetch my char in webiste Moohahahahah
If blizzard re releases wrath they should change it so it has no heirlooms and lfd apart from those things wrath was fantastic because i love achievements and being able to lock my xp.
actually blizz can pretty much follow the same timeline as they did back in woltk, i mean, there was no LFD until 3.3.0 so, that means LFD pretty much almost at the end of the xpac.
@@luckiness9500 Yea but i also want 3.3 without lfd.
Archangel was hella fun!
Such a casual...
Rotations in wrath were so bad
ok but who asked
first kek
WotLK > Cata > MoP > BC > Vanilla >> WoD > Legion >> BFA
Shitty take lol
Imagine thinking Mop and Cata were better than Legion lmao
Imagine putting WoD b4 Legion lmao
In my personal experience, i had the most fun with this exact order.
@@jfkwkfk8867 they were tho, at least in terms of zones, pvp and classdesign😎
Legion >MoP >Wotlk >Cata >Bc >WoD >Classic > BfA
Hahahahahhahaha
I agree with almost everything. But ToC makes sense cmon...
