You know, I think I've taken for granted how quick South Park played into the sci-fi and supernatural angle. I actually really miss it. I still love South Park in its modern state, but I love the more fantastic side of fiction and I really enjoyed seeing all the weird creatures, monsters, magic and futuristic science in the show.
One of them I remember when it’s a split second shot of an alien is the end of Cow Days. An alien drives the limo for Leonardo DiCaprio, after he spanks Cartman (Ming Li) for several hours
I told my wife that the only way she gets out of watching South Park is when she notices at least 2 of the Easter eggs she spotted the aliens before we finished season 4 but she didn't spot hardly any of them until the 4th season when she seem to figure out the aliens were the Easter eggs I was talking about
I just realized that in the "Cancelled" episode, after the boys promise to keep the photos of the execs secret so the show/earth can go on, they unknowingly go against that promise and show the entire universe the photo of the execs on their own show.

Not sure if you know this or not, but author Whitley Strieber believes the aliens in the show were made to make fun of his real life alien encounter that he wrote in the book called “Communion.” There is also a movie made based on the real life but the book is much better if you decide to check it out for yourself.

With episodes like the one where they made fun of Jennifer Lopez. Which is the best in my opinion. Also that episode where they make fun of the Declaration of Independence, then about the game War Craft... Unfortunately the only episode worth mentioning in this new period is "Band in China". Where China was parodied and those who subjugate them for money. One of the few that is excellent in the last ten years of this cult series. South Park has undoubtedly seen a decline in quality over that period. Many believe that it is due to periodization, that is, that the entire season is one story in continuity. Previously, one episode was a story in itself and the next one had nothing to do with the previous one. In the end, it dropped from 4.5 million viewers to 0.5. The only refresh is the introduction of the PC Principal character 6.7 seasons ago.
