My original feeling was: "How does someone from New York come to Chicago & try to expose what's going on?" Then when Pastor Dimas talks about his own life, that despite having a 2 parent 2 income home, the streets had a hold to him, then I could better understand how he could do that. Police should walk a beat like they did back in the day, & even more Pastors should be out offering to help get these young men & women the guidance needed - so they will not only value their lives, but the lives of others. What Im saying is its not hidden, its effecting the burbs and now rural areas too because of the Rockford/Chicago gang connections.
There is alot of potential amongst the chaos. The communities that have been effected by drugs, gun violence and lack of resources all have a rich past. Things have changed and the causes are many. But at the root of it many feel disenfranchised and forgotten. The majority of the law enforcement is not of the community. The majority of businesses are not of the community. And a lot of the so-called leaders of the community have put greed over the good of the community. With the effort of the community problems within the community can be solved but everybody has to come together no matter race, religion, politics, criminal records, affiliations and social economic status still all part of a community.

Because our legal system doesn't allow you to arrest or jail people who MIGHT do a crime. In reality, some of the petty arrests for minor crimes in a way actually do keep a lot of the shooters off the street. They can't get your for a body, but maybe a lengthy gun charge.
Because liberals want to ban guns and in order to do that they need violent criminals to scare people into giving up their rights. But the problem is only a very small percentage of people are violent criminals, so the liberals have to keep letting the same ones out of prison to make sure that the violence continues.
What was the point of marching for Civil Rights in the 50s' & 60s'? At what point does our community wake up from the COMA we are in? These suburbs immediately had steep increases in crime! Everything from drugs, and prostitution, to car thefts and burglary, stabbings shootings, and sexual assaults, many police departments found themselves overwhelmed! ( in DeKalbs case one complex that had formerly been the home of students from Northern Illinois University, and had never had any problems other than a loud party, got so out of hand, that the city council summoned the property manager to explain why, when he failed to appear, the police had to subpoena him to do so, when he appeared, and was questioned as to the reason for the vast increase in crime, he hummed and hawed before answering that " it was the CHAs fault" one board member had never heard of the CHA and asked for clarification, upon being told what it meant, the whole scheme got exposed, but it was too late, and the suburbs involved have been dealing with the aftermath ever since!
