  • A Nigerian designer, Ezinne Olivia has accused Ghanaian fashionista, Nana Akua Addo of donning her outfit and refusing to credit her. Addo had won the outfit to the recently concluded AMVCA award. Recall that Nana Akua Addo made headlines during the weekend during the AMVCA events after she shared the magnificent outfit she wore.
An upcoming designer called her out on social media for refusing to tag her. According to reports, the designer was allegedly asked to choose between being tagged and getting paid N400,000 (GHC3,856). She however, chose N400k (GHC3,856) but begged to be supported as this was her debut at the AMVCA and she had spent a lot to travel with her team from Enugu State to Lagos State.

Unless you had a contract with the Photographer, it is the Photographer who has the intellectual property rights to make money from those.pictures, not you the bride.

No. You said that backwards. Unless the photographer signs a contract with you to let them own the images of you they take, they have no right to use them for commercial purposes. The photographer does not automatically have a copyright of photos they take of you. There are a million scenarios of course but generally speaking, to benefit from your photos, they need your permission.
