If you want my humble opinion, this is one of the best models you have built, it just really stands out, somehow. It's not a complicated build, as you pointed out yourself but sometimes a basic kit in the right hands can turn into a jewel.. and that's what happened here. So yes, that 'CATTY SARK' 🐱of yours deserve a prominent place in your house.. :)
I’m glad you brought the clock back. It reminds me of building models on my grandmothers kitchen table. She had a clock that sounded similar. Nice job on the ship. I can’t wait to see the Sabre.
Always a pleasure my friend I've got photo's of her from down London they have a new thing there you can do it's called Rigging climbing! It was tiering as heck climbing them ropes Haha!
Wow, Rigging Climbing. That sounds like a dangerous sport. I guess if you have rock climbing experience you can participate. Thanks for watching my video. When I return to London one of these days, I should make an effort to go to Greenwhich and see the Cutty Sark. Take care. 😃😃
Great build. You are right, modelers should do some projects out of your comfort zone. I am an armour guy and now I am building a Tamiya Lamborgin and Porsche.
That looks fantastic! I was a bit worried after you built it but never painted (yet). Then you painted it. Amazing job! Nice work. Beautiful Cat you have... my cat just passed away, after 19 years of faithful loving friendship. Enjoy every minute you can with your cat. Time goes by fast.
I’m sorry for your loss, 19 is a great age though. But it’s always hard, I love animals but they should live alongside us for a lifetime in an ideal situation. I had four cats and they passed away at ages of 17 to 21, now have two that are 12. Have a dog too, but my other dog at 9 years old in 2020, that year really sucked. My cats are never allowed on my work bench though, once one mauled my 1/350 USS Enterprise and a lot of planes on it. Learned from that 😉
Very nice example of a small tall ship welldone love the paint job and maybe you will be able to see the real thing if you visit the UK in the future its worth a look .say hello to Buster hope he enjoyed sitting in the box that was funny take care and stay safe.
Great work brother. It looks great. I had built the Revel version of the kit back in the early 80's when I was a teen. I wish I still had it. It was destroyed by accident while I was away in College. I may have to spend a few bucks on that model. Don't Ever Stop Building.
Thanks! I remember my first sailing ship was when I was about 10 years old. I never built it right but it was fun. This kit really encouraged me to build another one. I ordered on Ebay on old Revell USS Constitution. I plan to build that this summer. Thanks for sharing your experiences. 😃😃
You're welcome. Thank you for watching my video. If you like building ships, I recently built Revel HMS Kelly and uploaded it on RUclips. You are welcome to watch it.
Nice build Collin, very simple but nevertheless you’ve made it into a charismatic sail ship, as the Curry Sark is and in that small scale, really great! Great job on the sails indeed, the sails make the ship as wheels often do on a car. I’ve started the 1/72 Black Pearl and will take note of your approach. You should build more (sailing)ships, if you like, you’re good at it. Also, I love the old setup of your video, even people that are not into building have to like what they see. I think you really should have more subscribers. Thank you and builders salutations Denis
Cats are still wild animals at heart. They still do things that their wild cousins do. They just simply adapt a human house as their hunting ground. Here's a good brief video on that on RUclips ruclips.net/video/sI8NsYIyQ2A/видео.html 😃😃
Fantastic build sir!! You maybe inspiring me to get some Sailing ship to build 🙂 I have one of Sailing ship on my stash and I left it for long time maybe I'll continue it soon.
Nice build QDC! I’m working on a wooden model kit, at least when I’m home (on holidays in the States right now). I had ordered some parts for the ship before I left, so hopefully everything is there when I get home. Very intense build. Anyway, Happy days and model on! 😎
Great video. I have this kit and i have not built it yet. Is it an easy kit to build and paint? Is it possible to do it without an airbrush? Also is the rigging hard? Sorry for all the questions i am trying to get back into building model kits.
Welcome back to this hobby. In my opinion, enjoying building and painting your model are more important than what others do with their models. As you return to this fun subject, you will meet people who consider themselves as superior hobbyists. My advice is do not allow them to intimidate you from enjoying this hobby. If you plan to build and paint this kit, you will find it easy and fun. Most of all, enjoy it and do not compare your results with others. If you do, it's a guarantee you will be discouraged. Thank you for watching my video. I want to wish you and your family a good day. Take care.
How do you recommend building model ships like this. I recently got a USS Constitution and I’ve never build a ship before. I don’t know if I should paint each part before adding or after, or how to make wood look less plasticky. Anyways, great model you’ve made with the weathering.
What a coincidence. I just ordered an old Revell USS Constitution myself. I plan to build it this summer so I'll make a video of it and let you know. 😃😃
Revell has 1/220 available in the market and ipersonally think it's still too small if we really need to look into the subtle details of the sail boat like this one.
I agree. This kit is not an accurate model of the real boat. I know, because I went on the real ship this year. But I still enjoyed building this kit. I want to wish you and your family happy holidays. 😀😀
Hi Qdc, appreciate the video. I am looking to buy this for my granddad, he enjoys simple plywood kits of trains and boats (painting is not his thing, more the construction). You mentioned this is a beginner build, do the pieces snap together or are you gluing them? Are there any tools I would need to buy along with the kit for him to assemble this correctly? Are these kits mostly for people who enjoy painting, or is the construction a bit of a challenge? Apologies for the naive questions, hope to hear back!
Hello, this kit does require glue to build. The rest is up to the builder. He/she can paint it with ordinary brushes or they can be more fancy by being meticulous by using an airbrush. It's really up to the builder. I hope this helps. I recently wend to London and visited the real ship. If you're interested, I have a video of that on my channel. Thank you for watching and take care.
There's nothing special when doing the rigging. It's just a lot of patience. Good luck if you decided to do some rigging. That's the most complicated part of any sailing kit 😀😀
Thanks for actually building it for us on camera-EVERYONE else just “reviews” it!
You are welcome. Thank you for watching my video. I honestly appreciate it.

Until the next one. Like the clock ticking again in the background!
And keep building ships, you do it great too!
Great build David ! Thank you for sharing ! Hope you have a great/safe weekend ! Until the next one, take care.

Let's take a look inside this box. Hull, sails, my cat and instructions. keep the videos coming.
Cute. Thank you!! 😃😃
Nice work Q. Good to see the cat get a starring roll too 😁
I see the real cutty sark most Weeks. cool model
Thanks
Always love my QDC videos in between the intense studying! Absolutely lovely, so calming :) thank you Q

Great to have the sound back without the music. great job with the model! sailing ships aren't the easiest thing to do

Fantastic build, and an excellent paint job. Keep them coming!
Thank you! 😃😃
looks great! you made the right choice switching models, i wouldve done the same thing, once again thanks for inspiring me to start modeling
That turned out great 👍. As a bonus, it's in a common scale for ships, so it will match if you build another ship.
Looking great 👍
Thanks for watching!
@@qdc748a I'm attempting that model kit right now it's a great kit for $20 👍
@@franklinmint7394 I'm sure you're going to enjoy it. 😃😃

It is a fun kit. I highly recommend it. Thank you for watching my video. I honestly appreciated it. 😊😊
Excellent Build and Amazing Paint! This ship model really takes me back. Thank you for the cool and informative video!
You're very welcome. I have to admit, I didn't think many people would like this project but I was wrong. Thank you for your kind words 😃😃
Outstanding work. Make me want to do a ship like that
Thank you. I try to encourage people to build their own model kits when I make videos. I'm doing my job right. 😃😃
Bravo! excellent video!
😃😃
Just a handy tip for any rigging on this scale, use dark brown embroidery thread. It looks real and matches the scale perfectly.
Thanks. I want to wish you and your family a happy new year.
Love your videos. Keep up the good work !
Thank you Scott for your kind words. Please take care of yourself. 😃😃
Yup, now I want to build that one too! 😆 Turned out great, I'd ballast it and make it float, just for fun. 👍🏻
I subbed, my dawg!
Thank you for subscribing.
Love it! Great build! im building the revell 1:225 HMS Victory at the minute, its not my subject either but enjoying the build!
Cool. I like to build kits that are outside my comfort zone. Thanks for watching my video. I also want to wish you and your family a happy new year.
For such a basic model kit you did a very cool job. Kudos!
What is it with cats and climbing into a box, that was hilarious. Nice job on the kit. I think I do like the video without music during the build.
