Also living in Germany, I want to take my wife’s e-bike and another bike with me. Or three normal bikes. I be also got two roof carriers which are easy but cannot take e-bikes and a hassle to lift the bike so high!

Hi mate. Thanks for the video. I'm looking for same bike rack and we have same car (X5, G05, 45e) with same OEM electrical hitch/tow ball. You confirmed me the trunk could open. Thanks Do you know if max load of the tow ball allows for 3 ebikes ? (Battery removed) I can't find a real data for this.
So I’m not an engineer right. I was told that the tow ball is rated up to 280kg which should be around 600lbs. I have been using the Thule all summer and it was great. Some long road trips to the North Sea and back again No sweat. I had the batteries on the bikes the whole way. We have two adult e-bikes and a normal kids bike. I’d say go for it … share a pic of your biking destination 😀😎
