  • Last part of Flight from Melbourne starting just south of Liverpool. A view of what looks like the new airport under construction, over Warwick Farm racecourse and Lake Chipping Norton, Prospect Reservoir, over the northern suburbs, over Chatswood and then a view of the Harbour Bridge, Opera House, and the Sydney CBD, before landing on 16 right.

Sydney is huge, and still growing. Greater Sydney is physically larger than Greater London. A former governor, Governor Brisbane (yes, the guy the city is named after) was also an astronomer, and his Brisbane Catalog of Southern Stars lead to a large crater on the Moon being named after him. Little did those 19th century scientists realize that Sydney would eventually grow to be the same size as Brisbane Crater.

The construction visible at around 0.30 is the Moorebank Intermodal Precinct (road, rail and logistics).

Great video. Is there any reason why Virgin, Qantas and Bonza all acknowledge the traditional owners etc in their arrival PA?

The first one of them to stop doing it will be accused of racism.

It’s a thing in Australia. Major events also usually begin by acknowledging them.

@@luosen856never used to be. It’s to make you feel like you don’t belong in Australia( white ppl) . And to make you feel like you don’t belong. It’s the global agenda
