- Things have progressed quickly in the Ven-Allen Lubin conversation. Inside Carolina reports that the two sides (Lubin and the UNC coaches) have had several phone calls and that Lubin will visit campus on Tuesday. Lubin is a rising junior transfer from Vanderbilt with two years of eligibility. The fear is that his stature isn't tall enough. Is that true? What does Hubert Davis have up his sleeve?

Yeah I’m sick of all the is Hubert the guy crap! Yes he is, he’s 7-2 in the tourney with a final four and an acc regular season tittle in his first 3 years. Not to mention he’s a god fearing man that can help mold these boys into men not just players or draft picks

@@martinward3084 Narcissism, self-indulgence, and instant gratification are more prevalent today than in previous generations. Maybe Kentucky's toxic fans did some self-reflection after Coach Cal. tired of the whining and packed his bags for a better fan-base.
I for one would love to see us get van luben. I want us to play 4 or 5 out style smaller and faster paced ball like 2019 uva, 2021 Baylor. 2018 Nova 2016 Nova smaller teams can win the title. I compare this UNC team right now to 2018- 2019 UNC team and that was a great team

I think VAL would be a awesome fit. He's the power 4-5 guy we need. He does most of his work from the post and has a great midrange J. A capable 3 point shot while will get better, he's almost a must get at this point. Plus it leaves a role for Hawkins still too. Maybe not ideal but basketball is getting positionless nowadays anyway. I love what Issac said about his blocks, he gets most of them for the TO. We're going to be just fine! Go Heels!!
We are going to have to settle for a less than ideal front court it seems because we failed in that area of our recruiting. This makes us easier to beat unless the coaches figure out a way around it. It is what it is.

@@lafayettedickens6236 I think he was gifted the job. No head coaching experience. Underwhelming X’s and O’s coach. Routinely gets out coached in big games. They did have a strong year this year, and the final 4 win over Duke will forever be a historic game. They are letting him learn on the job of maybe the biggest basketball program in the country. I like him as a person as does everyone else. But the media just grovels for him because 95% of them are shills for the university. That’s my take haha

@@lafayettedickens6236 I mean obviously a legendary coach who cut his teeth at Kansas on his own after being an assistant for Dean for like 10 years. Came home to UNC and won 3 titles. Legend of the game who got passed by a bit his last few years. His whole résumé speaks for itself. Your thoughts?
If we don't get a big, teams will crash the boards on us like crazy next year. Uconn, kansas even other acc schools are getting their pick of players. Unc can't even get a big. That's been our bread and butter throughout the years.
We definitely need to sign Lubin. He's a versatile 6'8" 230 pound player with an over 7 foot wing span. He's capable of playing small forward, power forward or center and he can guard multiple positions. He was very good last season at Vanderbilt playing center in the SEC so he should dominate at Carolina playing power forward. Go Heels!!
I shudder to write this but I think withers could take a big step this year. If he stays in the gym. He’s got something. Hopefully not any 3s up 1 at the end of a big game……

Not sure this is the answer to our Big Man question. Not that he would be a bad pick up but I don't see how he helps that much unless we really change our style of play, which might be a thought.

Don’t understand why people don’t think who you need is already on your team. Washington is no scrub. Back courts run basketball, especially college basketball. Our back court is stacked.
@@ejsmith1000 - Duke had a quality backcourt last year, missed out on landing a C that could keep Filipowski at the four and NC State’s big man kept them from reaching the FF…. I could see a similar outcome with Washington as the lone “big”.
Championship game featured two prominent bigs as well at 7’2” and 7’4” though UCONN did win that game with the three ball.
I’m not discounting the perimeter players, but an undersized big-a PF being forced to play C-simply presents problems easily exploited by the opposing team. Even in terms of attacking the rim at a higher rate, drawing in the help defenders and kicking for a high percentage three.
