SUV. Full rear seat delete. No kids. +One for the dry bags. I was literally saying "dry bags guys" out loud as I was listening right before ya'll brought them up. Which actually surprised me because you don't see many overland space dry bag videos (or mentions) on RUclips. I recommend the Thule "Chasm," which comes in four sizes and some cool colours.
When I retire and start traveling full time...Quigley conversion.

I enjoy your podcast, and really appreciate the real, honest conversation and advocacy for this activity and lifestyle. For a couple of years I've been going on outings to the southwest, car and tent camping in my SUV on BLM land. Now, with a 4x4 truck, im looking explore a little more of the grandeur of our great lands. Thanks for sharing your perspective and experiences.

I run a Gladiator and love it. I run a STO van and love it. After these experiences, We plan to convert to a Utility Wagon as primary Overlanding rig and the STO Van to be used for lighter travel that is more focused to hiking/camping. We have decided sleeping within the confines of the Wagon, even if in an Ursa Minor/Type roof compartment. The STO emphasized to us we want to prioritize sleeping within the vehicle, carry a ground tent for specific optimal situations, have a very capable vehicle, and travel very lightly.

The best overland vehicle is the one you have now, no need for anything fancy, it's the vehicle that gets you out there to enjoy the beauty of the outdoors. My dad used an old 70's Oldsmobile and drove it as far as the road would allow, we would camp out, have a fire and a cook out while enjoying each others company. Lets face it, people today just want to show off something they can barely afford.. start a channel on RUclips to help pay for it.. It's the folks out there enjoying the trails or lack off and have zero social media, those are the real overlanders.

Nicely stated…… it sounds like you had some great experiences with you dad. We definitely agree that social media has introduced a lack of authenticity to the world‼️

FOR ME FOR OVERLANDING A TWIN CAB UTE IS TOTALLY THE BEST BECAUSE OF ALL THE REAL ESTATE AS WELL AS THE BIN TO PACK ALL THE NESESITYS YOU NEED WITHOUT A CLUTTER OF STUFF BEHIND YOU WHICH CAN FEEL CLOSTOFORBICK DRIVING AN SUV FOR INSTANCE

Can I donate a hubcap for the wall? Also, you need a kombucha sponsor
