- How To Tie Trout Spey Streamers - The one fly that started it all! Learn how to tie one of Dave's very first trout spey flies. SUBSCRIBE HERE: ruclips.net/user/subscription_...
Trout spey flies come in all shapes and sizes - from traditional "spey" flies to downright ugly rabbit fur concoctions. The one thing these flies all have in common is that they catch fish!
We really try to design our trout spey flies to be a combination of the two fly tying styles. We really like lightweight materials that ultimately make larger looking flies with minimum materials and maximum casting and fish catching abilities.
The larger profile, yet minimal design allows for easier casting than more bulky trout spey streamers.
The materials we used in this fly can be swapped out for your favorite fly tying materials and colors. We love greens, blacks, browns and whites for tying this pattern. The use of a light bead head in this fly helps it sink and also adds to some action as well.
We hope you enjoy this fly as it has a very special place in our fly boxes!

That's awesome! I hope they do well for you! Definitely let me know!
You mentioned that you were going to provide me an additional address to mail you some flies to try in Alaska. If not, then I'll wait a bit & send them to the other address. Merry Christmas from Michigan !!!
@@davidclunk2225 Oh yeah! Ill email it to you ASAP! Merry Christmas!
Really like the minimal amount of material on this. Do you like it in other colors as well or does this combo seem to do it all?
Thank you Peter! Yeah I really like this one in all colors. Blacks, green, white and brown. Thank you again for checking this one out!
It's been a while since I have seen a new video on your channel, I hope that you have been too busy guiding & just have not had an opportunity to do any additional videos. Just wondering ( I know I've asked before ) whether or not you have had a chance to try any of the flies I sent your way ?? Hope to see some new stuff soon & by the way I really like the simplicity of this fly, I have added it to my arsenal. Thanks !!! David Fisher-of-Men Fly Tying Ada, Michigan
Hey Dave! Yeah, we got super busy, hired another guide and looking for another lol. Hopefully I'll be back out there filming this spring. I got a new drone and other gear so hopefully I'll have lots more soon! I'll use some of your flies in my new videos :)
So very glad that the crazy Covid stuff has not effected your Guiding business & that it sounds like you are growing !! If I was a lot younger being a guide up in Alaska would be Awesome !!! I just pulled my Hyde out of the backyard into the garage & I'm getting it set for another season on Michigan waters. Looking forward to see some new videos, thanks for responding !!
