I learned more about Hydraulic pump theory from this video than I ever thought possible. Sr. is a great teacher and doesn't just show what things do, but why they perform a certain operation. Fantastic learning video and more riveting than an old episode of the X-Files. Excellent master class...

There is nothing worse as a contractor than when the client decides they don't want to pay. The fact that your dad hasn't been around there with an axe to remove some of his work is a testament to his character. Love episodes where your dad is in them. The bloke has so much knowledge to share, always a pleasure to listen to him talk.

Dad has the high pressure pump, it's 500 tons of scrap without it. ;) He's likely put a mechanic's lean on the crusher too. Dad's been around.

If he took an axe to every job he didn't get paid, he wouldn't be in business for very long. There is a legal process, which he employs, keeping things civilized.

It took 54 years for someone else to describe the operation of this pump.
I went to school for HVAC but the swash wobble pump(except for GM cars) In my history was never seen.
As old as this set up is I understand exactly how it works "with a little help from your dad.😊

I worked for a (at the time) major manufacturer of rigid foam insulation panels from mid 1980's until 2000 that used Rexroth variable displacement pumps similar, but smaller than this pump. They were used to pump isocyanate and a polyol/premix blend; two pumps for isocyanate, two for premix. They were adjusted to pump a desired volume through injectors at a target pressure. We (I worked in maintenance department) would have to replace and repair these pumps very often, as the chemicals would wear and damage pump internals. I remember how expensive parts were, and often long lead times for parts. I cannot imagine what the time and cost are today. Thanks for bringing back the memories, (and nightmares) from my days with Rexroth.

I used to work in a bread bakery. All good bakery equipment is German made. Our silo system had German electrical boxes. They had these weird ceramic fuses in it. Real weird shaped. When they blew they blow powder onto a sight glass. My boss would order them by the dozens cause it took a year to get them. The electrician was troubleshooting a bad transformer in the box. He blew a half dozen of those fuses in 5 minutes. The boss went nuts. The electrician said why didn't you tell me years ago. He took them out, put American fuses in temporarily. Then when he got time he put in a breaker panel to replace them. No more crazy expensive fuses. Not only was it taking a year to get them, they was like $40 a piece, the shipping was hundreds of dollars.
