russell allen is a powerful singer and a gifted interpreter. he's never too passionate and less skillful nor too technical and negletful of pathos. i think he's one of the voices of metal that will always be remembered.
Because world is not fair, that drummer is simply perfect, sounds like an old school drummer like Ginger baker, Phill Collins, something like that an absolute beast.

very impressive live performance! The vocals are totally strong and fierce! I used to listen this when i was 17 now with 26 i can see its really good considering the style.

Judging from the "hello Suomi" I recon this is from Finland. I know they visited Finland 2003 with DT but have they been here after that. I really want to see them..
It's Dream theater done RIGHT, no atrocious vocal's and the greatest bassist on the planet , using a stick. Not only did they not need lyrics, it's one of the few groups that were so vocal in their melodies you didn't even notice the lack of singing.

simply put, theres much less wankery in SX, and I think they take themselves less seriously too, so I find it much easier to respect them. Neither hold a candle to Liquid Tension Exerpeiment though :P

dream is better? well... if you only consider human beings playing in the band perhaps... 'cause there's no human being playing on symphony... there are BEASTS! but honestly... dream gets nowhere close to symphony x
if only the drummer wouldn't keep continuously speeding up, the song would groove like it's "supposed" to. Saw 'em a few years back, and virtually every song is a rush fest. My suggestion is to skip the live shows, and enjoy the CD's, because that is where they shine.
actually, portnoy is a better drummer... after all, portnoy is the youngest drummer ever inducted into the drummer's hall of fame. john petrucci has to be the cleanest picker ever, john myung is amazing is solo bass projects, but i do agree that Dream Theater's vocals are worse than Symphony X's, BUT THATS NOT TO SAY EITHER OF THEM IS ANYTHING LESS THAN AMAZING. its just that Dream Theater's song writing hasn't been up to par with their past albums. oh and jordan rudess is a keyboard prodigy.
