Induction of Labour in Hindi | Part- 1| Indications & Contraindications

- Induction of labour means initiation of uterine contractions, after viability when the continuation of pregnancy is dangerous to mother or fetus then artificially induce uterine contractions to deliver fetus vaginally.
- Augmentation means to accelerate the uterine contractions.
Indications -
- Hypertensive disorders
- Maternal Medical complications
- APH
- IUGR
- IUD
- premature rupture of membrane
Contraindications -
- CPD, Contracted Pelvis
- Carcinoma of cervix
- Malpresentations
- Obstructions in birth canal
- Genital Herpes Infection
Impact on Mother & Fetus-
- Prolonged Labour
- Increased operative interference
- Prematurity
