- Let’s go fossil collecting along the Jurassic Coast. I have to wait around for quite a while for the tide to go out as it’s been stormy ⛈️ weather. I’ve got the sieving utensils for fossils and we can see what is washed out at low tide! I hope you find some fossils along the Jurassic Coast-at low tide. Sometimes fossil hunting turns out to be treasure hunting, especially when you are trying a bit of sieving. The Jurassic Coast really does have some stunning fossils. I recommend wearing safety glasses and sturdy rubber gloves when hammering the right rocks. Remember the cliffs are dangerous and liable to fall suddenly and without warning. Keep away from the dangerous cliffs. The best fossils are washed out onto the beaches at low tide, by the sea's actions. Look out for the slippery seaweed on the ledges and rocks. WARNING ⚠️ recent heavy rain has brought more mudslides down onto the beaches. These mudslides can be like quicksand in places. I offer guided fossil walks along the Jurassic Coast on the following website, so feel free to take a look at the website I made, with our online fossil walks ------www.lymeregisfo... There is a fossil collecting code of conduct in place along the Jurassiccoast#fossilhunter#fossil#ammonite
Tom really knows his stuff 👍
It’s a total credit to him how much he knows! He totally loves his subject with these old artefacts, he is often out in stormy Winter weather on the beaches! - like yourself.
Thanks so much for the gift Brandon! 🙏 It was so great to bump into you down on the beach at low tide. Really fun searching for all kinds of finds, you've been so kind about me in this! I have got my work cut out cleaning all the metal and researching it! It'll be great to see you out again soon this winter, I have a feeling it will be a good one.
Thanks 🙏 very much for your comments Tom! I look forward to seeing you soon 🔜 in WINTER 🥶! We will be absolutely drenched and mud covered but enjoying every minute of the beach combing and fossil hunting at low tide ! - along the Jurassic 🌊 Coast!
Love this video Brandon,Tom seems a nice knowledgeable guy.some really cool finds there .How were the storms last week ,hopefully some nice fossils will turn up 👍
Thanks 🙏 a lot Tom is totally on the ball with all his knowledge of the 2008 Lyme Regis landslide finds! The storms last week completely threw the rocks on the lower beach up to the base of the cliffs in some areas around Lyme Regis - astonishing to see!
Thank you for sharing these lovely specimen including the spoon...😅
Thank you 🙏
Excellent as always. Thanks for all the work that goes into recording, editing and posting the video Brandon. My family and I love watching them and really appreciate it !
That’s really very kind words, thanks 🙏 very much for that. This video as it turned out was a very quick one to film 🎥! A lot of work on the other hand, went into the filming of the colossal Crinoid fossil. Tom even though he was surprised when I turned up “ out of the blue,” was a complete natural on the “ old “ iPhone filming that I did !
We really enjoyed the video and meeting Tom, we look forward to seeing the polished Spoon soon and maybe who the owner was! Unfortunately we had to cancel our 4 day fossil break for last weeks low tides and storms due to unforseen circumstances but hope to return early in the New Year🤞. Keep up the good work and i am sure it wont be long before we see some exceptional finds as the weather does its work💦💨🌩🌪. Nigel & Trudie
p.s like the new hat🧢🏃🏃🤣😂
SEE YOU! Next time!🤞 Thanks 🙏 for the like 👍🏻 with my new hat 🧢 I’m very proud of that 😄, it’s one I bought from Harry Morgan @thisisjogon RUclips. Tom is great at identifying finds from the 2008 landslide that you find at low tide !
A Lyme Regis treasure hunt, steady on, you are turning into an archaeologist😄
Thanks 🙏 Mike that’s a great 👍🏻 comment 🥄 🪨🍀🙏 💎
