    It's not just commuters. My elderly neighbour will have to walk four kilometers to his hospital appointment if he can't get a cab.

    Must be nice to have a government job with a government-protected salary and be so financially stable that you just decide not to work at your fantastic job.

    indeed says TTC bus drivers make average of $83,810. so they striking for 100k+ now?? seems a lot for a bus driver...more than an average canadian...

    We need to stop lowering standards, rules need to be followed, qualification requirements need to be adhered to strictly. Personal responsibility and individual merit needs to matter to achieve innovation and excellence in both service and safety.

    Maybe if unions focused more on Canadian workers rights and less on university encampments supporting terrorism, they would have had more time to bargain and reach a deal.

      Dude what's your point? Palestinians are to blame for the strike? Oh wait the strike is antisemitic right? Just as thinking or even breathing. I think your brain has been occupied with thinned air.

    This is not just on the TTC management. This is on the union as well. Unfortunately the union and this advocacy group seems to want to make the TTC unaffordable for everyone. Things cost money and at a time where money is scarce, it isn't the time for the unions to be asking for the moon.

    • @mqii
      @mqii 4 месяца назад +2

      A huge part of money went to the unions

    • @joetran8798
      @joetran8798 4 месяца назад +2

      @@mqii That's normal. Salaries are usually one of (if not) the biggest line item in an organization's expenses. My problem is that often the unions ask for amounts that are already hard to accept (eg, 30% over 3 years) on top of benefit increases and job security...

  • @gary094
    @gary094 4 месяца назад +2

    If the union wanted more money, TTC would have folded. It has to be something else that the union is asking for that is beyond the TTC means to give them.

    I used to ride the ttc daily. They made me walk at least once when service was down. If they do go on strike, their regular riders would know what to do.

    Instead of lobbying to lower fare rates while demanding more services…pay higher fare and learn to wait 10 minutes…
