He played do me, baby note for note the same way that he did 43 YEARS AGO at the Washington, DC show that I used to have on bootleg VHS of the Controversy tour. That gorgeous crescendo.......
Watching Matt playing the piano and reminiscing about how he played it in the revolution is serving to increase how grateful I am for letting my own CP70 go in lieu of holding onto it and figuring out how to maintain it. That camera pan to the floor and the sight of the chains attaching the sustain pedal to the legs adds another layer of seller’s remorse.
I feel the same over my Mk1 Rhodes 88 - it was lovely to play, but wasn’t getting played enough, and was just gathering dust in a spare room. Sold it to a session musician from a jazz funk band - hopefully he recommissioned it and started using it as intended. I keep looking at Yamaha CP Reface keyboards - looks like they are able to scratch the CP/Rhodes itch without the pain of ownership!
I thought of getting that same reface model and slaving it to my larger controllers myself,@@simonhodgetts6530. There’s one thing it has that I don’t think any other synthesizer or keyboard I’ve owned is loaded with, a toy piano sound.

I own a CP-70B in pristine condition..... iconic instrument!
I bought one about 14 years ago in excellent condition as well. I wired it to bypass the electronics and it sounds much better (not so tinny).
What an instrument and what a legend.
Beautiful
