I have trained something like 100 winners at pari-mutuel tracks. All with horses that I bred, raised, trained, shod, rode (but not on race day) and I can tell you this. I have ALWAYS won with a horse who told me that "Today's the Day I'm gonna' win this one." So how does he tell you that. He will be calm, neck up, chin down, tail raised like a flag, and he walks different, like he has purpose. Plants each hoof solidly on the ground. When he does that he will give you a stakes quality performance. And when he comes out of the final turn he will accelerate all by himself and run away from the others. Leading up to the race he does not walk around the barn area on the lead line. He doesn't prance, he doesn't fool around, he marches like he is the king of the barn. I just thought somebody out there might like to know that. Hi Everybody: Update. Friday evening I watched all of them gallop on youtube. I have a prediction: Tiz the Bomb. Not because of how he goes, but because of hisz attitude. He is telling me that the derby will be HIS. I'm wrong a lot (though not usually about this). Valid points for sure. Just so hard to judge the Japanese horse against the field of horses we have seen matched up against each other. No love for Crown Pride? Of all the sneaky chances that one seems the most dangerous. It’s going to be a fantastic derby. Here’s to hoping all have safe trips.
Yes I did that when me and my sister went to the Kentucky Derby in 2019 best time of my life and was in the infield. Country house was declared the winner 2nd biggest long shot in history
I did that at The Belmont Stakes one year with an 11 horse field. $20. Win bet On every horse The guys I was with tortured me all day about this bet. When Sarava crossed the finish line at 74-1 we were going crazy celebrating. Pure beginner luck.. my first time at Belmont Stakes.
0:35 Smile Happy would make the industry very happy as his sire Runhappy sponsors a lot. Very dangerous for McPeek at a price if the dynamic duo fails.
Cyberknife, White Abarrio, and Zandon…..at this very moment. (I do like others and would like to see Tawny Port get the “cabbage” in the Lexington. I am not sure if the winnings are enough to eliminate another contender?)
I am Japanese. I look forward to Crown Pride. Japanese horse racing fans are also paying attention. And it is Damian Lane of Australia who holds his reins?
your saying on this video ,that Smile Happy Won by 2 1/2 lengths .on my racing form it shows him losing by 2 1/2 lengths in his last race, now his second race back he ran second by 2 3/4 then his last two races he Won by 3 1/4 his first race coming out he Won by 5 1/2 len gths ,So what's going on here what's it gonna be.?
Hey Edward, thanks for watching! The footage you saw here of Smile Happy was from the Kentucky Jockey Club G2, where he won by 2 1/2. We typically highlight a race where the horse won. This of course was Smile Happy's last win at the time of this video release (4/14) as he finished 2nd in both the Risen Star & Blue Grass. This however is not our most recent Top 10 list, I will link that here-- ENJOY THE DERBY! ruclips.net/video/bYPvc_qMaQg/видео.html
Not that the best 3yr old always wins the KYD but rarely is the field this tight with this many potential winners. Betting will be a challenge. Post position and jockey skill might be all you need the Racing Form for this Saturday. Can’t imagine a slow pace with this field. Would love to see an opening 1/2 mile in 44:2/5 if that happens any one of these top ten horses starting and running from the outside could break Secretariat’s time.
Steve Asmussen has never won the Kentucky Derby so my choice would be Epicenter followed by Zandon and then Mo Donegal. Have to see pp first though. I had Essential Quality last year for the Derby but she drew pp 14 and going 4 to 5 wide in the race with Suez has her jockey never had a chance. So pp is critical but these are my choices.
Without knowing the post positions, I'm predicting the Risen Star gave us a preview of the trifecta. Epicenter will win. Smile Happy and Zandon will complete the trifecta.
@@TrustTheProphets Thanks. I've been betting Epicenter in the future pools and will bet him again on Derby day as long as he continues to train well. I think one of the story lines after this year's Derby will be the longer distance in the Fairground preps and whether other tracks should start doing that. If you remove Medina Spirit, last year's top 2 came from Louisiana Derby. After Epicenter romps to victory, maybe other tracks will take a look at lengthening the distance of their preps.
Man you guys have these horse's backwards first thing first I like white abrios to win that 1 two smile happy is a dangerou horse why you get him at number 10 plus Bob baffert messier them should be in the top 4....now you get epicenter number 1 a gr2 winner going up to face gr1 horse's with a trainer that have that dark cloud ☁️ over his head how many starters now 0-300 lol
Charge it....can take out a knee and run out the clock...thats what the commentator said 50 mtrs from the post....i cant stomach american racing anymore. For my friends who are trying to do the best they can for their love of horses i hope the game changes for you and your horses.
Prophets team, My feeling is that you have placed Taiba too low on your list. This horse breaks his maiden then steps upto G1 and blows by Messier like a horse with a future, watch his Santa Anita Derby win, then watch 2016 Breeders Cup Classic where Arrogate blows by California Chrome, same running style. Bottom line, Taiba has tons of talent, and I expect him to continue to improve, he has already ran beyers and timeform numbers that already put him on par with the rest of the three year old crop and lightly raced, this is the future on how to win the derby, Baffert showed us this with Justify and Authentic. Taiba reminds me of the talent I saw in Justify who won SA Derby in 3rd start and Kentucky Derby in 4th start and triple crown in 6th start. Not concerned that he ran in a small field, not concerned that he will go in a twenty horse field, he should be in front of at least 70 percent of the field turning for home. Post draw and trouble free trip are my only concerns. Like his chances! May have to throw a nice exact box and use Taiba & Epicenter who also has impressed. And maybe those two in revesing trifectas. If I/ you can get Taiba at 3 or 4-1! Could be a gift! Oh and Mike Smith's experience and patience to know when to send. And even though trained by Tim Y. I think we know who's really calling the shots, That's right the gray haired wizard, Mr Kentucky Derby. Bob Baffert, who would love nothing more than to put it in the east coast racing association's face once again.
Stay tuned for our updated list coming later this week! Our consensus picks agree with exactly what you’re saying. We think you’ll like the updated list better :)
@@kenbrickman4412 I hear you on that Ken! Taiba is a bit of a contentious horse in our circles now because he has two great speed figures but still some questions. Lack of field size is a concern for me with Taiba for sure. Also factor in Forbidden Kindgom dropped out and was found to have a breathing issue the next week... he wasn't 100%.
Zule, Taiba has no chance. I can do better than him....but i have no points to get in. I was sidelined earlier and did not ran enough to accumulate points...i guess i wait for the Preakness. Good luck anyway.
You guys got way too many closers at the top of your rankings....closers don't win the Kentucky Derby anymore since the Point System came into effect....here is my top 5: 1) Taiba (best combination of early speed and late punch) 2) Messier (not as balanced pace wise as the top one) 3) Epicenter (never closed fast after starting fast, big red flag for me) 4) White Abarrio (with the right trip could hit the board in the Derby) 5) Smile Happy (balanced like Taiba just not as fast starting or closing)
@@tblain11 I am less concerned about the field size given I expect the horse to be forwardly placed in the Kentucky Derby....I think he will either be 2 or 3rd after the first 1/4 mile....Baffert trained Derby horses usually get to the front, run fast early and run fast late....I would be more concerned with field size if we were talking about a closer like Roadster who got swallowed up in the Kentucky Derby....Mike Smith will most likely be the jokey and Taiba to me has a running style similar to Justify....
@@truthseeker2055 you are right about Baffert horses getting in the open early. That's the trademark of pretty much all his recent Derby runs. Taiba could definitely fit that mold.

Not giving up on simplification.. all he does is win one lose one his whole career and his Florida derby was sneaky good
Michael, I don’t think that anyone would be shocked if you’re right. He’s definitely impressed big time at times!!
TTP,
Did you rank White Abarrio at #2 because of your chat with Saffie?
FL Derby ------------ 23.67; 47.24; 1:10.68; 1:36.55; 1:50.64 - White Abarrio won by 1 1/4L. Best opponent emerged as a last out MSW winner.
Sunland Derby--- -Mine
Mark - you think white A hits the board? This horse, in my opinion, comes in around 8-9
I am still so crushed over MESSIER defeat in the S.A. Derby, I just can't believe how he folded in the stretch.
So, I resign, good luck to all in the Derby.
He was beaten by another great horse. No love for Taiba?
@@TrustTheProphets Taiba, yes he did impress me. I would enjoy watching him win the Derby. I'd like to see his owner reap some of that price tag! Also, White (oops forgot his second name) is peaking my interest. I just can't bring myself to like Epicenter, don't know why.
Well thank you for watching! Good luck if you end up betting it.
Don't give up on Messier. Taiba is talented and ran amazing. I wouldn't toss Messier at all. Not all Derby winners win their last prep (Authentic didn't win the SA Derby).
Paul, I would never consider Messier a toss. There are a million things that can happen in the derby!
Zandon, modonagle, epicenter....box, 😆
Thanks for watching, Tami! Strong top 3!
Very close to what I'm thinking :)
My thoughts the same. Trifecta Box
Derby day I had the exacta straight epicenter, zandon, simplification! But then the mystery horse lol came out of nowhere....and shi@!!! 😆 but omg...WHAT A RACE!
LETS WIN SOME MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
100%. Watch for more updates coming in the next days leading up to the derby! Thanks for watching!!
It's been kind of crazy for some of these last few races and how things are changing and really put some heat on some of the ... Favorites... So I throw a few at yous and one of these will be the winner Mo Donegal -Taiba - Cyberknife - Zandon " Really Questionable Horses " And have what it takes to win a ...Derby ... And I won't be counting any of them out unless there taken out , We all know how that goes Good Luck
Good luck, Sky! Thank you for watching!
Sky eagle! We ALL DIDN'T SEE THAT 21 HORSE COMING, LOL
@@tamidrake6368 Your right they should have name him " The Ghost Forget Rich Strike Lol " A complete Shocker I had to look at the race multiple times , I end up using Epicenter on top than Zandon second and my long shot was Simplification 35/1 Had big $$$ On it and would of hit it big time and I threw another 200 on Simplification just for the hell of it to WPS And then came " The Ghost " Out of nowhere looking at the horses as he passes and blew me away and right out the water and could not believe what I just Saw My Big Payday GONE Yes Tami am still not over that one , I throw something at you for the Preakness Don't count out " Simplification " Putting him on top for the win on some Exotics And I really like him coming out Post 1 And If he takes off and gets ahead and sets himself he has the gas to take it all the way an win But am sure Early Voting will be there and he no joke coming out the Post 5 And this is where Epicenter has to work being on the outside I love the horse but was just wondering like everyone else if he keeps going strong or he comes in at second or third , And you half to remember these other horses haven't ran as much as Epicenter and there in there prime right now there , And then you got " Ladys Frist Secret Oath " Yes bet her in her last race and she move along with the boys and "Won" I did well with her on that race , So here is how I will play my Exotics and box them if you want and it's only my opinion 1-8-5 move them around and 1-8-5-4 And for the Big One 8-1-5-4-9 And Good Luck And Hope We All Winnn
@@skyeagle3123 omg!!! Funny thing is...I had the trifecta straight, epicenter, zandon, and my baby, simplification!!! Just like you! Damn that ghost HORSE! HEHEHE, And your pic's for the Preakness is on target with mine, but I'm putting epicenter on 1st on one of the trifectas! But the other simplification, in the 1st spot! All my other pics are the same, and I AM a huge fan of secret oath! Hay girl hay! Lol lol AND, thank you very much for the tips, I just may venture out of my comfort zone and use YOUR 4 HORSE, AND 5 HORSE EXOTICS! 🐎
@@tamidrake6368 Your right ..Epicenter.. I will use him as well to win and " Simplification " I will move up an down and you notice he came a Long ways down from 35/1 Down to 6/1 What happen is they didn't want to take the chances to half to pay that price out this time around because they know .. Simplification No Joke .. And he is do for a big win and he is a threat I like him even more with a 9 horse field coming out the 1 Post And if gets out ok in takes the lead against .. Early Voting .. My guess he will go down the track like a rocket and he ain't looking back and I think everyone will else have him key in to the Tri An Exotics But remember ... Epicenter An Early Voting ... Will be There mix it up on these 3 You should do ok So on that note Tami let me know how you did and I will know if your baby comes in Frist Lolol Good Luck An Bless these Horses
Messier,,, por mucho. Number 1...👍👀
He’s looking very solid!
No love for Crown Pride? Of all the sneaky chances that one seems the most dangerous. It’s going to be a fantastic derby. Here’s to hoping all have safe trips.
We do have Crown Pride in our value horses Alex. He's a good bet and I don't think anyone would be shocked to see him win!
Is Echo Zulu running in Derby? I remember hearing she might be entered.
No sir, is not qualified.
Yeah I don't think EZ was ever in any races with Derby points up for grab. Just never pointed towards the Derby sadly. The Oaks, perhaps
so many goods one maybe just bet on all of them and wish for the best.
Rose, you’d be guaranteed to cash a ticket! Lol. Good luck.
Love the story! Thank you for watching!
@@TrustTheProphets Thank You !
I purchased a t shirt that day at Belmont and wear it every year 👍
RICH STRIKE / SONY LEON !🇱🇹🇱🇹🇱🇹
Taiba white aborrio
And epic centered
Simplification .. Antonio Sano
Number 80 chance of winning. Rich Strike
0:35 Smile Happy would make the industry very happy as his sire Runhappy sponsors a lot. Very dangerous for McPeek at a price if the dynamic duo fails.
You’re absolutely correct, Ray. A very popular horse & Sire.
@@TrustTheProphets Unfortunately, I bought his brother as a yearing, the much lesser-known 5k claimer, Runcrappy.
Oh man!! Lol at name. Well hopefully you turn a profit this weekend!!
Cyberknife, White Abarrio, and Zandon…..at this very moment. (I do like others and would like to see Tawny Port get the “cabbage” in the Lexington. I am not sure if the winnings are enough to eliminate another contender?)
You could get a sweet return if that ticket pans out Fran!
I agree Cyberknife my Pic WPS
Let’s go!!! Thanks for watching, Mike! Good
Luck.
Those are my three picks as well only different order; White Abarrio, Cyberknife and Zandon.
Good luck Fran!
You forgot Rich Strike! LOL
White abarrio should have been number one
I'll go to the underdog. White Abarrio the giant killer.
charge it,zandon, modonigal, but charge it,will win derby
Great picks Donovan! Good luck and thank you for watching!
Great picks!! Thank you for watching and good luck!!
Epicenter feels like the horse with the most accomplishments headed to the Derby.
Mspo, and will continue that way for Steve, at least for another year.
@@agustindejesus7398 why is that???
Mike Smith
Zandon fijo en el KD 22
Best of luck!
Without knowing the post positions, I'm predicting the Risen Star gave us a preview of the trifecta. Epicenter will win. Smile Happy and Zandon will complete the trifecta.
Great picks, Paul. Good luck if you’re betting it!
After Epicenter romps to victory, maybe other tracks will take a look at lengthening the distance of their preps.
charge it
Flavian prats horse #10
IS CHARGE IT GOING TO RUN IN THE DERBY 🤔
At this point, it looks like he is!!
Need a Japanese entry!
Thank you for watching, Steve. Who’s your top choice right now?
i like Charge it, epicenter, Taiba and Smile Happy
Good luck to you and your picks! Certainly a strong group there.
Ok but seriously....which horse will run in dead last? Happy Jack?
No Simplification? How fast this Guys forget!
He’s 11 or 12 on our list at the moment. How high do you have him Ernesto? Thanks for watching!
@@TrustTheProphets Simplification, for me still top 5, No Messier for instance
We definitely see simplification as a live horse in this field for sure!
Next year please. This year everybody....did fail.
True story. Rich Strike wasn’t even in the field when this video was put out lol.
Messier below Cyberknife? LMAO! Messier has two 100+ Beyer figures and Cyberknife ran a 92 winning a slow Arkansas.
Who’s your top 3 Jeremy? Thanks for watching!
@@TrustTheProphets Epicenter, Taiba and Early Voting. With Messier, Zozos and Zandon right there.
Nice picks, Jeremy. Good luck!
Charge it....can take out a knee and run out the clock...thats what the commentator said 50 mtrs from the post....i cant stomach american racing anymore. For my friends who are trying to do the best they can for their love of horses i hope the game changes for you and your horses.
Prophets team,
My feeling is that you have placed Taiba too low on your list.
I think we know who's really calling the shots,
That's right the gray haired wizard, Mr Kentucky Derby.
Bob Baffert, who would love nothing more than to put it in the east coast racing association's face once again.
Stay tuned for our updated list coming later this week! Our consensus picks agree with exactly what you’re saying. We think you’ll like the updated list better :)
Or Messier just lost to a horse that only had broken his maiden...in like a 5 horse field
You only got #1 correct.
Me ttoo
Someone throw me a bone and make it at least an 8 -1er.
Ban horse because of abuse and over breeding horse slaughter
Mo donegal should be number one
He’s a great horse! We’ll be rooting for him. Thank you for watching!
Love the way MoD closes in those long races. if he gets a clear lane, he can win.
Taiba will win
He definitely looks great!
Zule, Taiba has no chance. I can do better than him....but i have no points to get in. I was sidelined earlier and did not ran enough to accumulate points...i guess i wait for the Preakness. Good luck anyway.
Messier number 8?... too far below.
How high do you have Messier?
@@TrustTheProphets number 4
Awesome. Who’s your top 3?
@@TrustTheProphets Epicenter, Zandon and Tiaba.
Hard to argue with those 3!
You guys got way too many closers at the top of your rankings....closers don't win the Kentucky Derby anymore since the Point System came into effect....here is my top 5:
1) Taiba (best combination of early speed and late punch)
2) Messier (not as balanced pace wise as the top one)
3) Epicenter (never closed fast after starting fast, big red flag for me)
4) White Abarrio (with the right trip could hit the board in the Derby)
5) Smile Happy (balanced like Taiba just not as fast starting or closing)
Taiba certainly looked incredible. A lot of people will be rethinking there position on him over the next couple of weeks. Shhhh!! Lol
I have reservations putting a horse at the top who has been in two races and never bigger than a 8 horse field
@@tblain11
I am less concerned about the field size given I expect the horse to be forwardly placed in the Kentucky Derby....I think he will either be 2 or 3rd after the first 1/4 mile....Baffert trained Derby horses usually get to the front, run fast early and run fast late....I would be more concerned with field size if we were talking about a closer like Roadster who got swallowed up in the Kentucky Derby....Mike Smith will most likely be the jokey and Taiba to me has a running style similar to Justify....
@@truthseeker2055 well played.
@@truthseeker2055 you are right about Baffert horses getting in the open early. That's the trademark of pretty much all his recent Derby runs. Taiba could definitely fit that mold.
