    What a historic film document about the rivercrossing in Grohnde! Thanks for sharing. Is there a chance to get a copy of this stream. We would like to have this film document in our archiv of the area around Emmerthal!

    Most of this looks staged which was a common practice when film crews were involved.

      I think I would disagree. The only part that doesn't immediately seem to be a part of normal operations was the guys taking pot shots down the river. There was probably some reason to do that, but it wasn't obvious.
      This wasn't Hollywood or a news crew. The Army "film crew" was usually one guy with a single wind-up camera that was foot-slogging just like most everyone else. The only difference was he didn't have rifle to defend himself.
