I feel exactly the same as you, Payne. I spent a ton on Ken, I dont wanna do that every time a major character comes out, if he doesn't end up in Divination, and you can only acquire him from spending money on tickets specific to him, like the Ken event, I think I will be done with this game too.
Akuma is very anticipated. They know that well-enough; which is why if they’re smart, the greedy route should be off the table. It’s about long-term, not short-term. They can’t be this dumb and not learn from the MH Ken event: the community matters! We will not hesitate to give them a backlash.
Really enjoying your guides and input on the game, totally understandable if you stopped if they keep doing what they have been and not getting any better because of greed, got to do what you enjoy and love. Just got to hope our patience pays off and if it doesnt then we out.

I think it' just a new divination with rotating character where you can draw with ticket and diamond. After Akuma end another character will take his place and so on.
If they follow the CN path ,it should work like this : Akuma will be on a limited banner that comes around ONCE A YEAR but the catch is that he's absolutely broken AND he can be your main DPS >>> EVEN AT A+

If he is going to be the same then i go back to marvel future fight and stay there !! I was playing a dragon ball z game just before very similar to this one and its a disaster ! More than one month with no update , no youtubers covering and i am a big fan of dbz but that put me off completely !! If they do the same here than brands which we grew up with and loving as kids should really think about the impact on there image and products . Yea, I am pretty much f2p player with about 40 bucks spent and I’m lvl 76. I love playing the game but I can’t see my self spending more money long term to just progress or miss cool characters. You can only idle so much. I think your thought process on this was great. I feel the same way.

There should be no sense of exclusivity for a normal ass SF character in an SF game. No one wants to wait another month for akuma, being forced to spend when a character drops with no other way to acquire them is so fucking unheard of.

It's similar to SFD in many ways but they lock all their best and new characters behind limited run banners. They have a hard pity bar 60 limited pulls guaranteed drop of the event character. Their system is a little different though. They have (green)Food, (blue)Normal, (purple)Elite and then the (forgot the color as i never got one)Limited characters. So for gems you can only use to recruit the food, normal and elite. have to farm limited tickets for the best characters. Although I guess maybe thats actually better than SFD system since their limited tickets is basically our divination tickets. except they have a hard pity bar that is guarenteed drop. but for divination its not guarenteed outside of some hidden pity pulls.

Right there with you. I've spent a little, but still consider myself F2P. If Akuma event is a bust then I'm out as well. Plenty of backlogged games I can spend time on without the gambling or greed. I have hope they learned from MHK and do the right thing, but scared the mighty dollar will win.
Its say a feature so as i think maybe the summon gonna be parmanent and the rate up character might change per weeks or month just a guess though but the ticket got exclusive symbol so
None of their design choices so far have been accidental. All of this is pre-mediated and the community is absolutely being prayed on. I've had to leave a lot of the gaming groups because I just can't sit around and see everyone brag about their whaling and progress. This has gotten way out of hand.

So I think we are okay and you'll get to continue covering the game.With that said they should also be fixing guilds with the Akuma patch and I would love the opportunity to be part of yours if you haven't filled up. I think they should study the format Dragon Ball Legends has been using because IT WORKS. People complain about getting shafted on summons on that game...but personally...I don't feel it's anywhere near as bad as this.
I will not play a Gacha without a pity and otherwise abuses the FOMO (Fear of missing out). I had decided to buy from the store before MH Ken. When MH Ken came out without a way to get him without paying real money, I immediately scrapped my plans to buy anything. They later decided to give MH Ken tokens and it was obviously a reaction that only happened because players complained. If they had not done that, I would not be playing now. Regardless, my trust was damaged. I made a decision to wait until the next event character. If Akuma is MH Ken 2.0, I will cut my losses and I am out. IMHO, what they should do is add a banner that has multiple options to roll. Either put it on the banner or just make the banner better odds for event specific currency or otherwise add him to the general pool. And this part is extremely important, they need to say in-game that Akuma will later be available outside of the event. I don't trust anything Devs say outside of the game. I believe in 2nd chances, but I will not be around to give a 3rd.
Let's see. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt. I want to see what they do after the event settles. Give them 2-3 weeks and watch the next banner or 2. If it's the same setup again then we know what they are doing going forward

I don't think that they will let the game die. probably that will works like in the KOF game, they will try to extract the money from who wants to pay hard high now, and when the people start to stop to play and they start to lost a lot of players, they will start to do things to allow the f2p to reach the whales and also start to fuse the servers. But for now, they will try to earn a lot with all the hype and the new chars.
Ye but in the end of the day, they really dont care. as I said i played the KOF game for 3 years without stop, and man always will have new players. These might be for a limited time banner where you can pull for chars like MH Ken, Akuma and Dante. Which you can either p2p or grind f2p multiple events for 1 dupe. Though it wouldn't make sense for Akuma to be exclusive
That's what I mean. Dante I get, units who aren't part of the SF universe (collab) units are fine (greedy as it is) but someone like Akuma.... base Akuma (no matter how OP he is) should be available through normal means after this event

The cycling limited banner wouldn't bother me with this game if the strength of your team wasn't gated by having to get multiple copies to be able to get past certain content. Genshin impact, for example, does limited cycling banners, but a lot of their characters are able to be used (and can attain max level) with only one copy. With how their system works, I agree with you. If they don't learn from how they handled MH Ken, I'm out. And I've only spent like $100 on this game, thankfully.
Totally agree man. If handled like genshin where a unit can be fine as a base would be fine but in this collector style game the unit Def needs copies to shine. Some good with less of course but give us the ability to get it without being time gated by limited banners after

Not gonna lie I would be surprised if they didn't learn from the Mh ken situation if for some reason he is a limited character and doesn't make it to the normal summon pools game will lose a majority of its players
I've spent a couple grand on the game. Comfortably so, if they don't make these tickets purchasable with diamonds for the general community to be able to get characters banner to banner, i'm not going to refund or anything, i'm just out. Not just from this game but out of crunchyroll period, a few hundred to a few thousand a month spender gone. I'm sure more will follow suit in the same way. Greed has a way of biting you in the ass eventually, hopefully they wise up to the reality of community based games like this.
Realistically they should have learnt from the ken event and should make the akuma event more f2p friendly, but in practice we know it's all p2w in the end, like how effigy teams and doing massive damage with F blanka.. if your on an older server newer servers are doomed due to the server banding and won't be able to put up the same numbers.

This seems like make or break for quite alot of people. Sadly I think because of the IP this game will never be short of players even if the worst happens. Hopefully if it does you'll continue making content on a more consumer friendly game. I’m just gonna put this out there. Nowhere does it say you won’t be able to use gems on his banner. It’s very possible that this is merely a “thank you for playing” for f2p players getting 50 free summons for completely free, plus a banner type that’s available for all players that may or may not function similarly to Divination, because not everyone has Divination unlocked.
Now I believe that they know about the controversy regarding Monster Hunter Ken, so I believe this is an apology for that, without actually apologizing.

I commented on another vid that the icon on the tickets COULD signify that this kind of banner could be where they intend to have the exclusive fighters return (and in which case I doubt we'd be able to use gems). The way I see it Monster hunter Ken has a higher chance to be on the banner than Akuma is to be an exclusive. But despite that, I'm with you on quitting if they fuck this up. Crunchyroll is owned by Sony, the US divison which is incredibly greedy and terrible in the entertainment industry, look up Spiderman movies. Crunchyroll CEO is an Indian guy who, like many Indian CEOs hired in large US companies are known to be cost cutting and pushing bottom line of increasing profit margins to make their board rich and improving interests of the wealthy upper mgt and themselves. Sadly, the game developers can't do anything as they're pawns and told to do this to keep their jobs. Again only msg you can make is have the whale community to refund everything before you fully quit, since you quit, it doesn't matter if your gem total is a negative, but stick it to them in their quarterly financial statement.
I agree Wei many have refunded (I know 500k worth). Some are getting pushback from CR. I personally was using mine to make content for you guys cause I can write it off and if this is handled correctly after the event I'll keep doing it. If not, I'm out cause I won't support this predatory method of releasing marquee STREET FIGHTER characters lol (not even collab)

This game limited gacha characters summon system worst. No counter pitty system. They should learn from other famous gacha games. This game whales to think than you can imagine how f2p will feeling. Thats why iam not holding my progression by not summoning with diamonds and regular summon tokens. I dont rely on anything. If i pull 1 copy or 2 thats great if not move on. Thats what Ken event i did.

Yea, I am pretty much f2p player with about 40 bucks spent and I’m lvl 76. I love playing the game but I can’t see my self spending more money long term to just progress or miss cool characters. You can only idle so much. I think your thought process on this was great. I feel the same way.

There should be no sense of exclusivity for a normal ass SF character in an SF game. No one wants to wait another month for akuma, being forced to spend when a character drops with no other way to acquire them is so fucking unheard of.

@@PayneBlade Also finished the video now. And you mentioned the limited event recruitment banners. and the game that I tried Eternal Evolution is exactly like that!. It's similar to SFD in many ways but they lock all their best and new characters behind limited run banners. They have a hard pity bar 60 limited pulls guaranteed drop of the event character. Their system is a little different though. They have (green)Food, (blue)Normal, (purple)Elite and then the (forgot the color as i never got one)Limited characters. So for gems you can only use to recruit the food, normal and elite. have to farm limited tickets for the best characters. Although I guess maybe thats actually better than SFD system since their limited tickets is basically our divination tickets. except they have a hard pity bar that is guarenteed drop. but for divination its not guarenteed outside of some hidden pity pulls.

None of their design choices so far have been accidental. All of this is pre-mediated and the community is absolutely being prayed on. I've had to leave a lot of the gaming groups because I just can't sit around and see everyone brag about their whaling and progress. This has gotten way out of hand.

I think they should study the format Dragon Ball Legends has been using because IT WORKS. People complain about getting shafted on summons on that game...but personally...I don't feel it's anywhere near as bad as this.

I will not play a Gacha without a pity and otherwise abuses the FOMO (Fear of missing out). I had decided to buy from the store before MH Ken. When MH Ken came out without a way to get him without paying real money, I immediately scrapped my plans to buy anything. They later decided to give MH Ken tokens and it was obviously a reaction that only happened because players complained. If they had not done that, I would not be playing now. Regardless, my trust was damaged. I made a decision to wait until the next event character. If Akuma is MH Ken 2.0, I will cut my losses and I am out. IMHO, what they should do is add a banner that has multiple options to roll. Either put it on the banner or just make the banner better odds for event specific currency or otherwise add him to the general pool. And this part is extremely important, they need to say in-game that Akuma will later be available outside of the event. I don't trust anything Devs say outside of the game. I believe in 2nd chances, but I will not be around to give a 3rd.

I don't think that they will let the game die. probably that will works like in the KOF game, they will try to extract the money from who wants to pay hard high now, and when the people start to stop to play and they start to lost a lot of players, they will start to do things to allow the f2p to reach the whales and also start to fuse the servers. But for now, they will try to earn a lot with all the hype and the new chars.

Unfortunately (And i dont say it to get anyone down or make anyone quit, because i really think that u have to have fun with the game) this companies with this kind of game will try to earn the biggest amount of money in the beginning, and after that they try to balance to keep the players and the content creators happy. U are a honest person and try to pass a good vision. But we have a lot of content creator that are treating this event as awesome, and we really don't know if they didn't receive something to talk like that.

These might be for a limited time banner where you can pull for chars like MH Ken, Akuma and Dante. Which you can either p2p or grind f2p multiple events for 1 dupe. Though it wouldn't make sense for Akuma to be exclusive
That's what I mean. Dante I get, units who aren't part of the SF universe (collab) units are fine (greedy as it is) but someone like Akuma.... base Akuma (no matter how OP he is) should be available through normal means after this event

The cycling limited banner wouldn't bother me with this game if the strength of your team wasn't gated by having to get multiple copies to be able to get past certain content.
Genshin impact, for example, does limited cycling banners, but a lot of their characters are able to be used (and can attain max level) with only one copy.
With how their system works, I agree with you. If they don't learn from how they handled MH Ken, I'm out. And I've only spent like $100 on this game, thankfully.
Totally agree man. If handled like genshin where a unit can be fine as a base would be fine but in this collector style game the unit Def needs copies to shine. Some good with less of course but give us the ability to get it without being time gated by limited banners after

I've spent a couple grand on the game. Comfortably so, if they don't make these tickets purchasable with diamonds for the general community to be able to get characters banner to banner, i'm not going to refund or anything, i'm just out. Not just from this game but out of crunchyroll period, a few hundred to a few thousand a month spender gone. I'm sure more will follow suit in the same way. Greed has a way of biting you in the ass eventually, hopefully they wise up to the reality of community based games like this.

Honestly.... even though it is going to piss people off. A limited rotating banner for Akuma does make the most sense business wise. Not saying it's right, and I agree they are trying to nickel and dime as hard as they possibly can. But, it does make the most sense. Crunchyroll has definitely set expectations.

I’m just gonna put this out there. Nowhere does it say you won’t be able to use gems on his banner. It’s very possible that this is merely a “thank you for playing” for f2p players getting 50 free summons for completely free, plus a banner type that’s available for all players that may or may not function similarly to Divination, because not everyone has Divination unlocked.
Now I believe that they know about the controversy regarding Monster Hunter Ken, so I believe this is an apology for that, without actually apologizing.
If gems apply then I'm good with it. Some other format is what I would love to see

I commented on another vid that the icon on the tickets COULD signify that this kind of banner could be where they intend to have the exclusive fighters return (and in which case I doubt we'd be able to use gems). The way I see it Monster hunter Ken has a higher chance to be on the banner than Akuma is to be an exclusive. But despite that, I'm with you on quitting if they fuck this up. Crunchyroll is owned by Sony, the US divison which is incredibly greedy and terrible in the entertainment industry, look up Spiderman movies. Crunchyroll CEO is an Indian guy who, like many Indian CEOs hired in large US companies are known to be cost cutting and pushing bottom line of increasing profit margins to make their board rich and improving interests of the wealthy upper mgt and themselves. Sadly, the game developers can't do anything as they're pawns and told to do this to keep their jobs. Again only msg you can make is have the whale community to refund everything before you fully quit, since you quit, it doesn't matter if your gem total is a negative, but stick it to them in their quarterly financial statement.

I personally was using mine to make content for you guys cause I can write it off and if this is handled correctly after the event I'll keep doing it. If not, I'm out cause I won't support this predatory method of releasing marquee STREET FIGHTER characters lol (not even collab)

This game limited gacha characters summon system worst. No counter pitty system. They should learn from other famous gacha games. This game whales to think than you can imagine how f2p will feeling. Thats why iam not holding my progression by not summoning with diamonds and regular summon tokens. I dont rely on anything. If i pull 1 copy or 2 thats great if not move on. Thats what Ken event i did.
