  • Take 2 - had to remove the few seconds of music as the video took a hit and restricted.
This 3rd installment of the Kobalt 3 draw work bench make over many more upgrades get added. This builds on the two prior videos that added casters and then lowered the bottom shelf for a lot more space. Here we added lower doors utilizing more of the 3/4" hardwood flooring pieces with a plywood back plate. Special adjustable auto closing hinges were used. Here is a link to Amazon: www.amazon.com... Also added a drop leaf extension on the left side of the Kobalt bench/cart with more of the same technique and the top and doors. Wire management for the power cables and the 3 piece stereo speaker system (2 speakers hidden in the top bin and subwoofer in the lower cabinet) was completed. The pegboard got lots of attention with a collection of magnetic pans, racks and 18" strips most from Harbor Freight. The last big update was creating an adapter to quickly remove a full size IRWIN 5" bench vise so to not take up a lot of acreage on the bench top. This was a fun project that was a departure form my normal RUclips channel content and I enjoyed turning a used Kobalt 3 drawer bench into a mobile tool cart with many new features and capabilities. Out with the MDF and in with the Gucci hardwood flooring and over the top stereo and a Kobalt Blue color scheme expect for the MP3 player with 1,200 albums/ 13,000 songs to keep the garage from every being quiet in the future. Over the top - yes! But a lot of fun with this project. Now on to something else.

Hay - JT, thanks for suggesting a great title. Warning - don't buy a underpriced bare bones work bench and then risk of tripling your investment by over improving bench! Fun project though.
