I just put mine on and no more of that V4 mode , I have a 2011 avalanche and so far so good n I love the sound of a V8 , nice truck 😎
This video was VERY helpful!! I have a 2010 Chevy Silverado LT 4×4 crew cab. After putting in the 4th engine ( this last one was due to the service dept not putting in the drain plug after an oil change. So they had to buy me a new engine ). But with this new engine, it already threw a lifter after 300 miles. I finally had enough. The truck is still in the shop & will be ready next week. I just ordered this range delete. So it's supposed to be here the day my truck is ready. So needless to say, I'm excited to see how my truck drives with this thing. Thank you for posting this video!! Very helpful.
Mine is working great so far 👍🏻 glad this could help you
You got to do a complete DOD delete on your engine or your lifters will continue to fail.
Disabling with a tuner will not solve the problem only turn the V4 off.
@@That1Vato_ but the v4 mode is what causes the lifter and oil consumption problems.
@@robertnavarra3451 Yea your right,
I’ve had my truck close to half a year now and I use the AMF disabler and haven’t had any problems yet.
I was just kinda regurgitating what I read before on my previous comment.
We live and learn tho.
It might be a broke valve spring
Great video, how’s the Diablo working so far?
had to replace my engine at the cost of $8000.00 3 years ago on my 2011 escalade with 117k miles due to a lifter collapse issue that caused a bearing to come out of the block, very disappointed, i just bought a 2018 escalade with 42k miles it runs great but im concerned, should I do an AFM disabler,
which is the model? wanna get one for my burban
Glad mine has the 4.8, I don't gotta worry about that crap.
What year silverado 4.8 don’t have afm?
@@User15837 All 4.8's are AFM free. 4.8 ends at 2013.
Hello recently bought 2011 chevy 2500 HD lifted on 35s, I average round 10 mpg I have the diablo tuner that came with it just curious what the gas milage difference would be
I didn’t really notice a change in gas mileage
Will your cruise control still work with it plugged in mine does not
Yeah mine works fine
how is it holding up ?
So I ordered this same one for my 2017 sirrea an it will be here Monday any issues with it
None so far.
@@RandomActsOfRyan awesome
Im ordering this for my 2017 sierra as well. Hows it going so far?
@@PsychedelicValidity awesome works great
Nice truck! What kind of lift did you get?
Thanks. It’s a 6 inch pro comp
What size tires do you have on this truck?
35s
@@RandomActsOfRyan looks amazing!!
Thank you 🙏
I'm from Venezuela AND have a Silverado 3500 2011 engine 6.0 AND six Speed transmisión , i want know if this truck have afm tegnology AND if That disable work un mu truck, i nerd help 🥺🥺
2011 6.0 does not have AFM unless it's a hybrid model.
What if you have the amp research steps that plug into the ODP port already?
You can get a obd2 port splitter so you can plug in two things
What year did chevy start using afm? Ive been looking at a 2015 camaro and i want to know ig i need to disable the afm
I think it was 2008 for Silverados. Not sure on your Camaro.
It started in 07 to current, for 5.3 Silverados
For 60 more dollars you can buy the diablo ituner and customize all kindd of shit like the rev limiter , afm and tune it to premium fuel mode . So muvh more
I definitely thought about that. And I may buy one in the future. But I spend most of my money on my hotrod. Just got this because AFM is annoying.
What kind of exhaust do you have?
Flowmaster outlaw catback
Here's a tip that'll save you that $200. Shift your truck on Manual and leave it at 5th gear and leave it alone! The tranny will still automatically shift gears up and down within 5th gear and the AFM will never kick on!
Only issue is highway driving…would need to shift it up to M6 unless you don’t care to run 2500-3000rpms at 70mph 🤷🏼♂️
Hmmmmmmm
Diablo vs range ?
What is the difference between turning off AFM through a tuner or doing the AFM delete with a kit? Like why would you do one way versus another?
With the module you should be able to just plug it in or you can just a handheld tuner or get a custom tune to shut it off but that's for regular driving. If you want to a delete kit you have to take the engine apart to put in the parts but you also have to plug a oil line and change your cam to get best results without your engine throwing alot codes. If you just do the kit without changing the camshaft 4 out of 8 cylinders run off less compression which will lead to oil being sprayed into the cylinder wall leading that oil to burn so you might have to change out the oil pump for one with less force. So basically module it's easy to do and cheap and you should do it if you just plan on no actual engine building vs the delete kit is pretty much changing out the alot of parts which can cost alot of money.
Read somewhere that all these modules do is force the vehicle into manual mode on the transmission and turn off the overdrive. This works also on GMC’s. Lessens gas mileage with overdrive in use. You can do that yourself without a module.
What say you?
Is this true? Part true?
I’m curious…
Do you have to remove it when you arent driving the truck
Nope you leave it plugged in. This one shuts of when the key is off.
I have a 2013 Chevy Silverado. I thought I had AFM but mine doesn't show on the dash when it switches between v4 and V8
Did you figure it out?
@Schowers What engine you got? I think the 4.8 V8 from the years 07-13 don’t have AFM
@@gonzv9829 got the 5.3 bro
@@tipsreviews7476 nah I still don't know but all the sources say I should. It's just weird cause it doesn't show me like it shows other ppl who have the afm
@@gonzv9829 what about the 6.2 v8?
M 5 mode keeps it in v8 all the time and it's free,
What's m5 mode
@@austinmiller833 my last name is Miller also haha . But manual mode on the shifter!.. In stead of drive put the shifter all the way down to M on gmc or L on chevy then use the arrows on the shifter to select m5 or L5 to maintain 5 gears which would keep your vehicle in v8 mode to maintain full power . However you lose 6th gear which comes in handy on the highway . I use m5 mode on the highway going 75mph and have no problems .
@@buckJuddson My shifter doesn't have manual mode. I can go in 1st 2nd and 3rd though. But no M.
@Omar Cuenca I have an 08 silverado LT
Any difference in throttle response
Feels like it a lil. Could just be all in my head though lol
Look into the pedal commander for throttle response
Manual mode for city driving set for 5th gear.. just saved 200 bucks
How's your truck running so far
Still doing great 👍
@@RandomActsOfRyan I have a 2014 silverado z71 all stock I just hate the v4 mode do you have e to do upgrades when using the diablosport
Nope you just plug it in and go
@@RandomActsOfRyan thanks
@@RandomActsOfRyan what diablosport did you get for your truck
Any problems so far?
Nothing so far
So I've got a 08 and I'm running a performance cam and a diablosport intunevi3 tune so my question to anyone here would be will this V4 delete mess anything up as far a the tune I'm running ?? Thanks in advance also good looking truck man 👍
If you have the tuner i3 , you should be able to disable AFM from advanced tune settings
I just did that to my silverado 2008 and it feels amazing, the only problem is... It spends more gass. But I am so happy with it. There's another problem, it have a tick sound that it doesn't sound good, I don't know hot to fix it.
Do you have remote start on your truck did it effect it ?
If it starts ticking, then it's due to your lifters going bad from the v4 mode. That's why is important to get rid of v4 mode as soon as possible. If you have a tick, you want to do a delete and not a disabler
Ok
What part number
S1000
Why would want to make a new truck noisy??Not in hs anymore.
Free country! That's why!!
@@Connor4x4 yessir
Really no point. I see no difference with a take off in v8 mode or with afm on.
Afm is not on when you take off.
Just bought this module for my 09 Charger R/T. Seriously dislike MDS!
Me too! Had it on my 08 Ram before I bought this truck.
RandomActsOfRyan just checked out tour review video on it 👍🏻
