He is the greatest of all time for many reasons. Not only for his 9 titles, 115 victories, 199 podium, but also because he remained competition for more than 20 years. The bikes kept changing ,and he always managed to adapt his riding style.also, he fought (and won) against some of the strongest riders of all time: Stoner, Marquez, Lorenzo, Pedrosa, biaggi. Some of them were far younger than him. Rossi is a legend

As good as these were ,honestly, in hindsight, his '14 '15 & '16 seasons were absolutely mental. He truly rode out of his limits those 3 years , for his age and the competition he was facing. Especially '16. After the disappointment of '15, he decided he needed more speed, but 2 unlucky engine incidents ruled him out.
@Rizky Wira Only 1 as far as i recall. And it was also supposedly a tyre mistake (Bad choice or bad batch is up for debate. Unfortunate). Both he and jorge went down in identical fashion at Motegi.
9 world championships what an incredible achievement but really it should have been 10
There's an old saying in Motorsport the first one is always the most special but personally for me his last world title was his greatest of them all and I think why that is because he was racing against guys like Casey Stoner, Jorge Lorenzo and Dani Pedrosa but also because he proved everyone wrong
Every one started writing off after 2006 saying he was done because he'd just lost the world title to Nicky Hayden and then when Stoner won the title in 2007 and Rossi finished 3rd no one gave the doctor a hope
But then in 2008 aged 29 Rossi once again bounced back against all odds but still before the start of 2009 the critics where still writing him off even the Italian press where saying things like he lost his bottle but once again Rossi did only what Rossi did best bounce back and clinch the world championship for the 9th time
How could you ever doubt someone like Valentino Rossi

2015 was a great championship. He won against Faster Bikes and far younger riders. SHAME tat DORNA/FIM decided to interfere .
IN FACT theres so much LEGENDARY MEMORIES... HE WON WITH THE SATELITE HONDA - NAZTRO AZZURRO.
HES THE LAST WHO WON A WORLD TITTLE WITH A NON FACTORY - SECOND HAND BIKE. The guy is and ALIEN.
He didnt got the bike developed and made for him. He just sat, pushed the right buttons and took the world champion.
That worth for 2 at least!

23 MJ double it VR 46! Kevin Schwantz, and Randy Mamola brought me to the sport. But Valentino Rossi gave me the passion and love for it! I’m a serious motorcycle junkie, there isn’t a better sport in the world that captivates the essence of man vs machine than motorcycle racing! Thanks Mr. Rossi for helping a kid from Birmingham, Alabama to dare to be different and love a sport that’s outside of the normal for Americans especially a black kid!

Remarkable to think he didn’t win another after 2009. The big injury in 2010 seemingly was a turning point - I think he had the beating of Lorenzo that year - compounded by the switch to Ducati which just didn’t come together. Shame he didn’t get it in 2015 - when Marquez turned kingmaker for Lorenzo - as would have been a fitting swan song, but still the greatest that ever did it.

Can't believe he rode another 12 seasons after his last title. Only other champion that stuck around that long after their last title was Richard Petty. Thing was, Petty wasn't competitive at all. Rossi on the otherhand made you think he had a shot at the title every year except his last one. That's remarkable for a 20 year career on motorcycles.

The reason he is THE GOAT is because he raced and won against people who were in their prime. Sete, Marco Melandri, Max, Loris, Casey, Nicky, Dani, Jorge, Marq..... eventually Simone would have more championships than him but no one will be a greater ambassador of motogp than Valentino Rossi!

Ducati ends up losing anyways. Be it improved or not improved.
I have been keeping the track of these Ducati hypes since 2017 and since then they haven't even won a single Race.
Marc, Fabio and Rins are there to embarrass the lame Ducatis like they always do since the start of MOTOGP.
@@deathtomorons9388 I wish the Yamaha had their speed. Fabio gets eaten alive on the long fast tracks. Hard to beat someone in road racing when they outhandle you on the straights. But Fabio is the right man for the Yamaha as he is a corner master.
