- Join me for a look at the progress at the Sea Cadets Beach Works Compound Fleetwood. Work is cracking on at a pace and construction is on track for works to begin on the beach in April.
It's this weeks new vlog about the Wyre Beach Management Project - part 27.
Wyre Council has secured funding from the Environment Agency of over £40 million for this next major coastal defence project, the Wyre Beach Management Scheme. It aims to reduce the risk of coastal erosion and tidal flooding to over 11,000 properties and infrastructure within Wyre.

THANKS FOR THE UPDATE LOOKING FORWARD TO MORE FROM YOU
Hi Jane thank you for another great video as always so much work being done all over really wow them waves was crazy have a lovely day xx
thanks Jane for another great video
Much food for thought here VFC. Particularly the overtopping clip! As I watched that I remembered decisions facing planners after the levee breachings during hurricane Katrina. The power in just the top 30cm of the sea is immense.
One thought I have buzzing around is whether the alterations will impact the new island that has appeared just off the Fleetwood coast. One coastal change can affect so much elsewhere. I am not sure how far off the coast the new island is.
I fancy a cuppa and a wad at the log cabin cafe! :-)
Extremely informative 👍
Glad you liked it
Many school friends were enroled as sea cadets back in the 1960-70s! It was a good activity for teenagers ! Many also playing part in thier band and competitions at the Marine hall! My home was just after the bridge (boating lake) and a good friend lived on Princes way ! Best wishes from France! Great videos!
Thank you x
Viva La France. 😊

Just asking can you walk from cleavelys to Fleetwood on the beach front!!!!
You can indeed
No, it's strictly forbidden! 😉
behave @@JohnHughes2002 they'll believe you!
I would imagine that Rossall Beach school maybe a problem?
No, @@user-xu7ri6tm2m you can walk all the way along the seafront path or the beach - assuming the tide's out!
I believe that they're going to do rock groynes at Blackpool as well? The conspiracy theorist in me jokes that this is to do with 'social distancing' - they'll say only half a dozen families in each section of beach. 😂
lol. That's going to be a problem then with all the thousands of folk!
@@visitfyldecoast exactly, that's the plan! 😄
