Your interior designer ripped you off big time. All those fabrics used in all those curtains are the cheapest in the industry, they're just $8 a yard. Try fabric that's $300 a yard if you're trying to sell a million dollar house. Embarrassing.
Nah, no one was taken advantage of. Those design features were chosen by the builder upon completion of their model just to stage it up a little bit so visitors could get ideas here and there. Also please keep in mind that this model was built possibly a year or two before this video was made. The builders also go back and make updates to their design features every now and again as time progresses and if the model hasn't gone up for sale due to closeouts and what have you. So, those curtains may have been replaced since the making of this video.
