This 1980 Porsche 911SC coupe was acquired in 2015 by the seller, the former owner of California Porsches in Costa Mesa, and has since been extensively modified in RSR style. Wider steel fender flares were added during the build along with a carbon fiber roof panel, ducktail rear spoiler, and backdated bumpers. A 3.6-liter VarioRam flat-six from a 993 powers the rear wheels through a Type 915 transaxle equipped with a limited-slip differential.
The car has also been fitted with adjustable coilover suspension, 930 brakes, 17″ Fuchs-style wheels, bi-xenon headlights, electric air conditioning, a remote oil cooler, and numerous custom touches. The cabin is upholstered in saddle brown and features a leather-wrapped roll bar, MOMO Prototipo steering wheel, 10k-rpm tachometer, heated sport seats, and RS-style door panels. Much of the work was performed by Air Cooled Garage of Lake Forrest, California, and total cost for the project, which was recently completed, is said to have exceeded $250k.
