    The "roll with it" lesson is so important. You can build something in your head a hundred times, but shit just happens sometimes. The ability to adapt and keep going is a great tip

    The handle is a great addition to an already beautiful machine. The best part is we can personalize it by making our own handle scales; another way to put pride in our work! When I do it, I think I'll use bolt on fasteners so I can change them if I want to, you know, if I get bored of the ones I originally attached. I know that I like to personalize some of my tools, I usually put stickers on 'em, or use runes to write something (definitely screams, that's Matt's widget). So, this will do just that, times 100! Great job, Brian :)

    Scott from Perth here mate! Just got my quote on getting all the plate cut into parts and was pleasantly surprised. Considering the time and consumables I'll save, I'm definitely getting them cut. Thanks so much for including metric cut files with the plans! Now I'm looking forward to slapping some Western Australian hardwood on that handle! Great vid. 👍

    I have been dipping my handles in a mixture of 1/3 mineral oil 1/3 tru oil and 1/3 linseed oil and it brings out grain structure and colors like crazy I love it

    • @HouseMadeUS
      @HouseMadeUS  3 года назад

      Great tip! - Are you doing that with just wood scales or synthetic as well?

    • @FilthyFishinFreak
      @FilthyFishinFreak 3 года назад +1

      @@HouseMadeUS With wood it actually seeps into the grain where with synthetic I feel like it just removes your surface dust and gives it a sheen from the oils being on it if that makes sense. With stabilized wood I’ve been dipping at like 400 grit let it dry then hit it with 800 dip again let it dry then on this last one I went to 1500 then polished and finished with axe wax it turned out alright but I have also heard about a trick where you used CA glue and basically the same process to fill the grain to get a high gloss polish going to try it next

The wheels just arrived and tube and plate steel should arrive next week. An old 3HP motor is already waiting to get back alive. Hey Brian
    What made you choose to go horizontal with the handle rather than coming out towards you?
    Probably much of a muchness for ergonomics etc, but curious if there was a specific reason.
    Cheers mate.

      Just seemed to be the easiest way to pull down. Not everyone has side access to those grinders so pulling down and towards yourself seems to work the best. Definitely room for improvement but it works great.

      Wow record response time! 😁
      I was tossing up either a handle design like yours or bending the handle 90° from yours so it sticks out towards you. Still front access like yours but the handle follows the length of the Square tube it's attached to.

      Either way probably about the same. Thanks so much for the advice and insanely quick response!
      Keep it up!
      From us down here is Australia!!!

    I am interested in you grinder and will be ordering a parts kit as soon as I can afford it. Where did you get the silicone mold from?

    Thank you for your content Mr. Housewert. I love my Revolution grinder. Added a handle first thing. 2)1/4-20 bolts with some scrap flat stock. I bolted it to the side of the tensioner arm extended to 8" for leverage with desert ironwood handle, because I get it free here in around Tucson. I would love to win your prototype handle instead though, I love the honeycomb Al, have to get me some for variation of knife handles. Screw it, let's Do it

      Thank you Guy! I bought some ironwood at Bladeshow this year and I can’t wait to use it. Thank you for supporting my work. I truly appreciate it. ⚡️⚡️⚡️

      @@HouseMadeUS no problem Brian. I do it because I believe in it. If it weren't for you and this community sharing the information I wouldn't be where I'm at today. I'm just passing it on, paying my dues back to all that give to the makers out there. I'm with you, I think I started that, too lol
