    It could have been cut from the version you saw. Roy's films were mostly trimmed to 50-some minutes for airing on TV (That means you really lose a lot of content when the film is 72 minutes to start with!). Sadly, the first things to land on the cutting room floor were most of the musical numbers. Some films faired better than others. I think "Don't Fence Me In" and "Cowboy and the Senorita" have to bbe two of the worst cut versions. Glad you enjoyed the song! It is wonderful!
