After eight years of covers, I'm ready to say that this one has been my favorite. Only a couple of others even come close: - BotW main theme - One-Winged Angel - Lower Brinstar - A few undertale ones
I played through let's say 70% of Link's Awakening this summer, a lot of it on mute due to context, but I played the first 3 parts of it for years as a kid so this OST means a lot to me. It's NOT Koji Kondo, which gives a breath of fresh air. You really went from there and molded your own, especially with some of the progressions to help transition. Great medley, as usual, if not your best to date.
I know them mute feels, I only get to play the portable Zelda games on the go which means I also have to play on mute because video game music seems to annoy non-gamers over the age of 30. You miss out on so much without the music.
A lot of work went into this one. I love the different interpretations the composers take on the pre-existing motif of the Overworld theme that Koji Kondo wrote, it's fascinating. The different composers break away from some of the normal Zelda stereotype, paralleling the game.
You just made my favorite GBC game even better. The changes are very large, but it's easy to tell what each song is. That's what cover musicians should do best.
You had me when you started with Sword Search, a fantastic piece of the game that Nintendo's sadly forgotten. Then the greatness just kept coming, and my senses are delighted. Discovered your channel yesterday and have been having a blast since, man! Playing it at the office, as I draw...Keep up the great work! There's but one way to describe this tribute to Link's Awakening..."Dreamy".
I really love Sword Search! Thanks so much for enjoying this man, I encourage you to check out my various playlists of music and listen to a collection of my stuff through that method.
I can't wait for this game to come out again on the Switch!!!! Hearing this gets me extra hyped! It's my very first and one of my favorite Zelda games.
+sonicdoesfrontflips Now that's a compliment! It sure takes a lot to make me cry. (not that i'm a tough guy or anything all i do is make videos of game music on the internet and practice saxophone)
thank you MC for turning me onto the most amazing jazz musician i have ever heard especially with the zelda aspect which is one of my favorite game series' of all time and please keep up the awesomeness and i did sub and like insaneintherainmusic for the sheer awesomeness P,S, sorry for the run-on but i just can't contain my love for your vids and insanes music if you can i would say a jazz arrangement of one of minecrafts songs for your intro would be killer and once again keep it up!! :D
I remember you mentioning that this would push the ten minute mark on Facebook, but I feel like you could have extended it forever and it still would have been beautiful. You're such an underrated musician.
Link’s Awakening was the first video I ever played. My mom gave me her Gameboy Color with this game. I would stay up late with the lights on because the gameboy color didn’t have a back light. The memories and feelings I have with/because of that game are what keep me playing games to this day. Thanks so much for making this.
I'm not gonna lie, I think this is your best medley/cover you've ever done, and that's not just because I love Link's Awakening. So glad I found your channel, keep on making amazing music!
Yes, Sword Search is such an underrated tune in this game, probably because you only hear it once at the very beginning of the game. Even I forgot about it until I was running back through the OST and realized how awesome it was!
This was easily your best cover to date. I loved the harmony split between the two tenor parts near the end and in the middle, it was fantastic. Never let this amazing gift go.
Insaneintherainmusic may be the best publisher I've stumbled across while wandering youtube. Classy jazz, and the music from all my favorite titles; it's a pretty potent combination you have there.
Such easy listening. Oh man sometimes I just put on a playlist of yours and let it play out. Nearing the ten minute mark is such an accomplishment! Congrats~
I never played Link's Awakening, but i still knew some of the songs, and they are pretty good. However, your take on them, the medley as a whole and especially the end are really top notch!
I feel ashamed for not being a huge Zelda fan and being entirely familiar with much Zelda tunage. But this is really fun to listen to my friend. When Overworld came in, I was like "OH YEAH THAT ONE!" lol all the transitions were smooth like the tasty jazz you deliver to us :D verrrr verrrr purtty tunes sir :)
Only a 1:00 in and I already hear an absolutely delicious solo for the piano. Goodness I love your work. Also did I just hear the secret chime shortly after it finished?! My goodness. Love it.
Link's Awakening was my first Zelda game, and I'll never forget the infectious melody of Seek Your Sword or Mysterious Woods, and of course Ballad of the Wind Fish is my favorite Zelda song ever; this medley breathes life into me, you're a born genius dude!
I've actually never played Link's awakening :< After hearing the original soundtrack plus this rendition made me want to pick up the game. Bravo, great job as usual! You've made me appreciate jazz music more :)
+Gigaroid My first game from the series was "A Link to the Past" so I'm guessing I'd enjoy it going by that. The music from "Link's Awakening" was really good, but then again all TLOZ music is good ;)
links awakening is definitely my favorite too, the only game that takes me back to elementary school in the 90s. i played the crap out of that game during recess on my original gameboy, used to try and speed run/race a friend of mine who also had a copy, see how far we could get before the bell. i played it the other month for the first time in years and it was muscle memory, got ALL the secret seashells like i knew where they were hiding
New here, and so amazed! Saxophone's my fav instrument (even if never played one) and jazz one of my fav music genres! And Link's awekening was one of the first game's I played (never made it though to the end though :P), awesomee!
That smooth ass Item discovery at 1:54
After eight years of covers, I'm ready to say that this one has been my favorite. Only a couple of others even come close:
- BotW main theme
- One-Winged Angel
- Lower Brinstar
- A few undertale ones
and, of course, eterna forest (both of them)
1:54 listened to this song hundreds of times. Just now noticed
I love you.
The feeling... is mutual.
+insaneintherainmusic #NoHomo ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Nice of you to say, you are pretty cool your self.
Me too

I've listened to this cover so many times that I can hum along to the whole medley, solos and all. I love it!
Combining jazz with Zelda? You just earned yourself a subscriber! :D
+Vladislak YAY!
Ahhh you don't have idea how much this made me calm and smile and happyyyyy 😍
You just made my favorite GBC game even better. The changes are very large, but it's easy to tell what each song is. That's what cover musicians should do best.
+Maximeme Nailed it!
Your piano adaptation on "sword search" is absolutely stunning. Great job!
+Kevin Hernandez Yeah man, that tune is really underrated. It doesn't get much attention in the game, but it's beautiful.
You had me when you started with Sword Search, a fantastic piece of the game that Nintendo's sadly forgotten. Then the greatness just kept coming, and my senses are delighted. That's all you do? Lol, no wonder you're so good at it!
trying to hold back the feels.... ;-;
An AMAZING arrangement! Very well done man, I really enjoy this to no end!
Shared on the Twitters of course and liked (You all should too!)

I can't stop hearing this song after all the Every Zelda in April highlights ;)
The Mysterious Forest section is so good!
I remember you mentioning that this would push the ten minute mark on Facebook, but I feel like you could have extended it forever and it still would have been beautiful. You're such an underrated musician.
Sir, you are magical. And that's not just some complement. You're magical.
Thanks for this. This was my first and still favorite Zelda game. Watching your stuff has made me want to pick up my Alto again, I miss playing jazz.
SomeRDMGamer chega de saudade
I come back to this video so often. It's an amazing way to start the day.
Oh my! This is glorious! Love that sax... oooh that Mysterious Forest sounds so swanky.
Link’s Awakening was the first video I ever played. My mom gave me her Gameboy Color with this game. I would stay up late with the lights on because the gameboy color didn’t have a back light. Man, listening to this makes me want to replay the game again, it's been years. You keep jazz rocking!
this game is definitely my favorite zelda game :D
Been playing through the remake. This game has some great music, and as always you do far more than do it justice.
I haven’t picked it up yet, but from the music I’ve heard, it seems awesome! Thanks a lot!
The final section utterly gets me.
I'm not gonna lie, I think this is your best medley/cover you've ever done, and that's not just because I love Link's Awakening. So glad I found your channel, keep on making amazing music!
Nice profile pic
Outstanding Man, heck you deserve more views.
Love the intro song so much! It seems to be a less popular one so I'm happy when I find a good cover of it.
Yes, Sword Search is such an underrated tune in this game, probably because you only hear it once at the very beginning of the game. Even I forgot about it until I was running back through the OST and realized how awesome it was!
Holy cow how did I miss this? Thank you insane, this is awesome
I still come and watch this regularly... its your best video. Love rocking out to mysterious forest
This is one of my videos that has certainly withstood the test of time, then! Glad you like this one, it's one of my personal favorite covers too :)

Awesome arrangement! (Also nice shirt 😉)
This was easily your best cover to date. I loved the harmony split between the two tenor parts near the end and in the middle, it was fantastic. Never let this amazing gift go.
Dude, that jazz was so smooth, I'm sliding all over the place :D
Consider me subscribed!
One of the very first legend of zelda games I played. Thank you for this!! :D

I still come back and listen to this. It's amazing (: The transition between songs is ridiculously seamless!
Thank you so much! Putting together medleys is a lot of work, but I'm still proud of this one in particular :)
Everything is so smooth
This is flippin' amazing. Link's Awakening's soundtrack is awesome, fits the jazz style really well. But... no tal tal heights? :(
there was tal tal heights..
oh no nvm i got confused
I feel ashamed for not being a huge Zelda fan and being entirely familiar with much Zelda tunage. But this is really fun to listen to my friend. When Overworld came in, I was like "OH YEAH THAT ONE!" lol all the transitions were smooth like the tasty jazz you deliver to us :D verrrr verrrr purtty tunes sir :)

Only a 1:00 in and I already hear an absolutely delicious solo for the piano. Goodness I love your work.
Also did I just hear the secret chime shortly after it finished?! My goodness.
Love it.
Yep, you heard that secret chime!
I love this medley! I also love this game so much that after I first beat it I replayed it 3 more times! One of the best Zelda games ever! Great job!
Man! I listen to this once a day. One of the best of your works with gaur plains!
I really love this medley, what a timeless classic. I'd love to hear what it might sound like if I rerecorded it with my new gear and such!
getting goose bumps hearing this ! sooo good
This is one of my new favorite arrangements of yours! Really solid changes and transitions between each song.
I love this rendition
So beautiful !
Geez, I wish I could like this twice! This is fantastic! It's been so long since I've heard Mabe Village!
+Steven Fox Most people haven't even heard of Mabe Village to begin with!
It was one of the earliest songs I learned to play on piano back when I was a kid. Good memories! :)
your jazz covers are really amazing. I think I'm gonna buy your Pokemon jazz cover on iTunes.
You deserve more views!
Dude your amazing can´t describe that feeling listening to this
It’s nearly time to experience this game once more...
This video touched my gamer heart
Link's Awakening was my first Zelda game, and I'll never forget the infectious melody of Seek Your Sword or Mysterious Woods, and of course Ballad of the Wind Fish is my favorite Zelda song ever; this medley breathes life into me, you're a born genius dude!
