I'm still rocking my Schuyler Quentel ESV for the 3rd year in a row. This Bible is holding up amazing, absolutely love this Bible, but I still asked for a new one for Christmas to start a new bible reading plan in 2024.
@@ginamiller6754 I think ESV again, I'm not to sure yet! I typically enjoy ESV or NKJV but I just asked my parents if they have an extra, they really enjoy the Crossway ESV, so we will see.
The visible stitching in the Premier NIV Wide Margin is actually intentional. Overcast stitching. Helps keep the first few signatures, which are the most susceptible to wear, in tact. Great video, brother! I love your bible reviews and discussions 😁
The Lord blessed me with the ESV Single column journaling Bible. I say this because I was led by the Lord to give my go everywhere with my NASB that I have written in, research, notes etc. I looked for a replacement and God is a God of miracles! He blessed me with it for an unheard of price. I love it. :)
What can I say.. I’m a sucker for your Bible reviews… with all your knowledge about various styles… I would like to see a “if I could design a Bible” what would it be. I’m sure each video has these snippets of your ideal Bible.. but we need all this in a single event 😉
I love reading my Bibles as well taking notes I have a world bible school study edition journaling bible and a king James bible and a Spanish bible as well can I write in them with a Bic stic pen or with a pompom pen or with a pencil keep up with the awesome videos love watching them so much
I have the NIV side column, large print, reference wide margin in tan. Not much margin due to the larger print. I do not write in my premiums, though. Zondervan makes such beautiful Bibles now!
Journaling Bible - May the kind soul who thought of putting the lines for note taking receive many rewards from Jesus in heaven. Some of us can't write straight to save our lives. We are tormented as we stare at our sentences that go this way and that. And we can't change it because it's in pen. Makes me twitchy just thinking about it. ;)
For sure! Although someone suggested putting graph paper under the page if they're aren't lines on the pages. Cheap graph paper has thicker lines. Just keep a page of it in your Bible.
I’m 61 live in the UK and all my life have struggled with faith. Whilst I can accept the New testament I struggle with the old testament. I believe the earth is 13 billion years old and that we evolved from apes. I find when reading about Abraham being commanded to sacrifice Issac horrific as well as the book of Job he lost everything over a wager. The book Jonah being swallowed by a fish. Yet I can as I have stated believe in Jesus in the New Testament and accept that he is the saviour and redeemer. Does anyone else struggle with this. I wrote about this a number of years ago and the flak I received from supposedly loving Christians was far from loving, so I’m expecting no less for writing this but I would like how people dealt with conflicts like these.
Great reviews, Jason. I have a few of those, but I just wanted to totally agree with you on the elimination of cross references and concordances. The concordance alone could give us 150 to 200 pages of blank writing paper. That seems like an easy fix. Great job.
Jason I’m sure you do, but just wondering do you have a really easy to follow highlight system? Maybe 4 colors. I want to be able to start highlighting but convincing myself to highlight in a premium is hard without having a plan ahead of time.
I actually have a resource on my website to help with this. I went though the entire process of creating a system for yourself, which gives you the room to scale it back. I think you'll find this super helpful. www.tearupyourbible.com/courses-1
I am finding it nearly impossible to find a journaling Bible with white pages, light-colored margins, single column, large print that is at least 10 point and with consistent dark ink...🤷🏻♀️. Personally I prefer hardback, easier to hold... so it doesn't flop down so I can't read it.
A ‘95 NASB Premier Collection just like that NIV wide margin, blue under silver page gilding, with blue highlighted chapter/chapter headings, blue verse numbers, and Christ’s words in blue. Now that would be one beautiful Bible and I would buy one ASAP! Although all Bibles of God’s Word are beautiful!
Fine line btwn famous and infamous though. Um. I wasn't talking about y'all though. 😂 I have an ESV Journaling bible with color coded notes: Black Ink ~> Jason's teachings notes Blue Ink ~> Trey's ... And, I'm not kidding. I was introduced to both of y'alls teachings on the same day watching a zoom and God uses both of you in my life on the regular. I mean seriously ... I take notes in that bible! Come on.
I love the NIV Psalms. Its my favorite translation. In a perfect world, the NIV wide margin would be double column in the prose and single column in the Psalms, and other wisdom lit. I can't stand it when the natural phrasing of the poetry is chuncked -up in broken lines with crazy indentations. Why ruin the most beautiful translation of the Psalms?
@@TearUpYourBible Thanks for your answer. I just love finding Christ's words so easily because they're already in red! But this makes sense too. To each his own 🙂
I can’t believe that Bible publishers are using Chinese paper. I know the Message is what counts and the paper might be great but I will not knowingly buy something made all or in part in China. I think all of my Bibles are printed in the US or the UK but now I have to go check.
Ive read the NIV since it came out, i dislike the ESV it reads very awkwardly, and the Niv has become 'gender neutral' so my Bibles are all old now with much sellotape
@@TearUpYourBibleI am the opposite. I want all the notes/commentaries/introductions, etc., all the time. Of course, I’m just listening not preaching. Carrying a big Study Bible like the ESV Study Bible builds physical and spiritual muscles.

Loving the wide-margin you blessed me with!
I really appreciate when they give enough gutter space to take notes on both sides.
Not mentioned in the video: I love the Crossway Heirloom Heritage, which is also available in a significantly cheaper version as a TruTone Heritage.

I have been using the ESV wide margin next year I’m going to use the NIV wide margin in 2024. I agree that an NASB would be great in wide margin.

9.5 font is NOT large print regardless of what publishers call it.
You are correct. 9.5 is JUST readable. I consider anything over 10.5 to be large print.
15:30 that’s probably overcast stitching

Thomas Nelson Side Column Reference, Single Column NKJV.
AMEN to a Bible w/ note pages instead of all the extras not needed!
The ESV journaling bible is so great. I have the hardcover, which I like better than the soft cover. Agree on the white pages. So much better.
Yes! 🙌🏻
Where can we find that video on removing the flap from the journaling Bible?

I can also write a book on hearing from God. It’s entitled: “Pick Up Your Bible And Read It”.
Then do it.

I have extensively compared the CSB with the NIV in the Psalms and there are countless times that the NIV rendering is superior.

Im more of a hebrew bible type of guy. I found a few scriptures taken out of the niv and the nlt. Not sure about the esv. Great video though.
I have 2 of the heirloom wide margin bibles if you’re interested?

What's the merit to having the words of Christ in black, please?
It’s better for notes and highlighting.

I’ve never recommend a study Bibles. IMO Study Bibles should be in your library, not your normal use Bible.
