  • We woke up to very strong waves at Dawlish today, these were a result of Storm Babet overnight. This was a GWR 'Castle' Class H.S.T. set running as 2Z12 on the Up line through Dawlish (I think it was an ECS move). This was an hour after high tide and the waves were still quite considerable.

Why do they not put more rocks to protect it?

Apart from the effects of the salt sea water those waves throw up stones and all sorts of stuff. Never buy a used car in Dawlish.

Only the hst's and dmu's can get through without failing! Voyagers and 800's no chance. 😅
