Absolutely!! It's super cheap not just cheap! Considering i pay 40 and 50 euros at best in Dusseldorf/Zurich. And it honestly looks good! Very conveniently located, clean, well-organized of course.. thank you for sharing!
Hi, Im from germany. I really like your videos. Japan seems to be really expensive and because of that I'm not sure how to have a good time in japan without overpaying. Can you make a guide for tourist and their first time travelling japan? How much time and money do i need to invest and is there a way not only to see all the modern towns people but also a normal family life in japan? You already gave me a lot of good locations to visit. Last year the restaurant on the river was quit cool. Anyway good work with your video. I'm looking forward to see more.
10/10 drip btw. Really enjoying your content, you're getting superb at the b-roll transitions (which means you must have a good vlogging mindset now, when you're out & about). I hope you can find the time to upload more often like this. But don't stress too much ❤
Would ABSOLUTELY stay there! Looks great, outstanding accommodations, and I mean $13?!?!? Hotels, hostels, places to eat, and everything in between! Your experience and comfort no matter where you go makes every stop a must try for us! Yes please, keep up the videos Sarah you are killing it.❤
I am enjoying showing the budget side of travel in Japan lately, and have lots of travel videos to edit!! (including the snow!) Thanks for joining me on this journey!! 😍
@@seerasan I think I speak for everyone when I say we are all enjoying being able to see a whole new side of Japanese culture and life. Especially when it’s so spectacularly brought into our lives by a talented crew and an even more amazing host! Looking forward to seeing snow videos with Sarah because winter is my favorite season. Also beanie Sarah is beautiful, a vibe, and I am here for it!!! ❤️
Definately worth it, super cheap and looks clean. I wouldn't because I bring my boyfriend with me traveling and we like our privacy but for solo travel, it looks great
Definitely looks like a place I'd stay and enjoy. Only problem is...if the bed isn't super-comfy, I tend to snore fairly loudly (partly a product of my weight, which I'm actively working on), and I'm rather certain I'd have a crowd of angry people looking at me with red, tired eyes when I wake up the next morning.
I often need a rather private space to decompress after a day so while this wouldn't be an option I'd jump at, the general quality of the place, combined with the price, make this a compelling option to consider for sure!
Yeah, for budget travel, it's hard to beat hostels. On the other side of the coin, for the low end hotels like the APA chain, they seem like barely a step up from hostels. They have privacy, but seem more cramped somehow! haha
that hostel sound and look really lovely ! your Drip 10/10 and definitely i would stay on it if i will go to Kyoto again since Khaosan guest house has closed ( not far from it ) but the prior for me when i search for an hostel that if there a lot of single people using the living room (because "people group" don't talk to other talk most of time)
I love how much you are jumping into RUclips at the minute, you are uploading SOOO much and your videos are super quality if you ask me, keep up great work Sarah!!!!!
awesome value for a family travelling. our family of 4/5 booked 6 bed hostel rooms everywhere in Japan and we had room for our luggage on the extra beds. Hostels are so great in Japan!
Wow! You are just shooting out content after content lately! And just as always, very chill and super informative. Keep up the great work! I've stayed at two hostels in Japan (Khaosan Annex in Asakusa - Which is now closed down and another one took over and then K's House in Fujikawaguchiko) and both of them was very clean, friendly staff, some good beds, some very nice public rooms and especially Khaosan had some great fun parties or activities. So I would probably stay there as well. The only issue I had with a 6 people dorm is that there was a japanese man in one of the other rooms who were snoring like a freakin' chainsaw. xD
Thank youuuu!! 1 video per week is the goal!! Ooo I have also stayed at K's House in Kawaguchiko back in 2019 & 2021! LOVED IT! Maybe I'll try to get back there in the summer. I always have my super effective squishy ear plugs in my backpack in case someone is snoring..
Looks awesome! I paid around the same for a hostel in Russia some time ago, but my experience was much different lol - Japan seems to take the quality of everything to a whole other level, no matter the price. Keep up the videos Sarah, really enjoy these short-ish blogs with you
I haven't stayed in a hostel in a Western country before, only in JPN & Taiwan, and both were super clean! I don't know if I would stay in one in Australia either, but would be curious to compare haha Thanks for watching my recent videos! Will try to increase the length of the vids bit by bit!
I avoided hostels when I visited, but seriously watching the past couple of videos you've made covering a few hostels makes me want to seek them out next time I visit! :)
They're honestly such a reasonable option! I've used them my entire time living here in Japan, especially for solo travel & probably stayed at least 20! Capsule hotels are good options too!
I mainly stay in hostel dorms during long term travel. They're really fun, and as an introvert, fairly easy to control interaction. But sometimes it might be a party-party hostel, where it's a constant frat party, so if it gets old, I'll upgrade to a private room...and when I get REALLY tired of travel life, it's time to go fancy and splurge on a hotel for a week or so. At hotels though, I tend to see nobody, and meet nobody...which also gets old when traveling alone. So the cycle starts again! haha
For $13 in that location and in such a good state, I would have definitely stayed there, or somewhere like that when I was much younger and on a tight budget. These days I much prefer my own private space and can afford to stay in a hotel. Not sure if it's still there but my last trip a friend recommended a hotel in Shibuya that did weird pillow fillings and you could choose what kind you wanted. I can't remember the name but it was just by the east side of a train line off a small street. I stayed there for only 1 night and never found the choose-your-own-pillow service, but they gave you the choice of a more traditional Japanese breakfast (and one of the only hotels to do so) which I really liked. If you can find any similarly quirky places to stay, that would be interesting. The other place I stayed was in Aomori, right near the Nebuta Museum in a tiny hotel that looked nothing like the picture on the booking site. It had no hot water so you had to get a thermos from reception which they filled from a giant boiling pot in the kitchen. No staff spoke any English, nothing nearby was open after 8pm, and I was frisked by a policeman when I was out looking for something (anything) to eat because apparently there was a curfew due to Mr. Stabby McStabberson reports in the area. But honestly, Aomori was my favourite part of my entire trip.
Location was sooo good! If I had more of a budget, I would definitely prefer to stay in my own space too (I probably just travel too much so I can't afford nice places each time haha) That pillow system sounds interesting! I don't think I would survive with that Aomori hotel, way too cold carrying water from a thermos to bathe in, how crazy!! I'll keep on the look out for more unique stays (I have 2 more videos I'm editing for hotels that'll be out soon!)
I wouldn't stay there, but mostly because I snore and I don't want to be murdered by a stranger. I would do a cubical hotel instead. Also, with cooking when traveling, you really need to account for the value of your time. The amount that you spent flying there as well as hotels and transport in country, is it worth your time to go grocery shopping and cooking, plus the small things to make tasty meals.
Looks like the one in Hatchobori is closed but there's there's two other locations in Tokyo (Shibuya and one near the Sumida River) that are still opened. I stayed at the one in Shibuya before the pandemic and that one had a pretty chill vibe though I opted for one of those bunk bed rooms for me and a friend which felt like two coffins stacked on top of each other. It felt like a capsule but in its own little private room that's as big as the beds themselves. Probably should have just done what you did and done the dorm style beds.
Ah thank you for looking into that! I googled while editing and saw it closed down (even though when recording I remember seeing the Shibuya one), but should've look more properly! I generally prefer the capsule style rooms, but for that cheap price I couldn't resist not trying the dorm room!
I’d be worried as well, at 13usd. Always looking for inexpensive/convenient short-term stay accommodations. Wondering, how popular/expensive is Uber in Japan?
UBER sadly isn't a super cheap option here - essentially because taxi drivers are doing UBER as well. The system is weird, but in summary it's not thaaat popular, although it's an option in the big cities! (Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka etc.)
Oooft... that's a good question. To be honest, this bed was a snug size for me but anyone who is taller than 180cm may struggle... :( (not sure exactly though but my guess)
I'm 1.85, and rarely had any problems sleeping in budget places. Unless you lie there like a mummy. omg, but the real problem is your head! There are like random low doorways in places, and beams (in castles), all over the place - just waiting to take you out. Almost gave myself a concussion in Hiroshima walking into the bathroom of my airbnb!
It's ok! I've stayed at plenty, and there's often a snoring guy. It doesn't even bother me anymore. I think maybe light sleepers tend to avoid hostels anyways. When I'm out, I'm dead to the world.
Would you guys stay here?? What kind of hotels do you want me to check out next time I'm travelling? 🇯🇵
I stayed in a Hostel for 2 Months in Japan and it was similar to this one. I enjoyed it and met a lot of nice people. Video 4:44 congrats on that 😅
Absolutely!! It's super cheap not just cheap! Considering i pay 40 and 50 euros at best in Dusseldorf/Zurich. And it honestly looks good! Very conveniently located, clean, well-organized of course.. thank you for sharing!
Fully decked out as well, very impressive! A must for budget travelling, thanks for sharing 😊

Why not some..."Love hotel" 😏

A clean personal bed space and handy facilities, you really can't complain at that for $13 (£10)!

Yeah, that's like...Latin America hostel pricing. Pretty awesome for 13 bucks in Kyoto!
Definately worth it, super cheap and looks clean. I wouldn't because I bring my boyfriend with me traveling and we like our privacy but for solo travel, it looks great
For 13 dollars its definitely worth it. A blessing. I've seen way worse in America for 50 or more.
Love your videos Sarah, keep it up =)
the sink in the middle of the room kills me! hahahaha
Clean and pleasant looking. What more can you ask for!?
Definitely looks like a place I'd stay and enjoy. Actually looks really good! Ive stayed in much worse hostels that were 5 times the price as this one
For the price it looked excellent value
I often need a rather private space to decompress after a day so while this wouldn't be an option I'd jump at, the general quality of the place, combined with the price, make this a compelling option to consider for sure!

THANK YOU! Super happy to hear that!! I'm taking RUclips seriously this year so editing every free minute I have :D
Great tip! Depends on whether I'm travelling alone or not but yes I would definetly stay there!
awesome value for a family travelling. our family of 4/5 booked 6 bed hostel rooms everywhere in Japan and we had room for our luggage on the extra beds. Hostels are so great in Japan!
Oh yes! If you're in a big group/family these rooms would work perfectly.
danke Sera wieder mal ein tolles video. love how you doing more videos on you're channel.
Danke!! Appreciate the support!

lol @ Mr. McStabberson! Awesome how the violent crime rate is so low in Japan, but whenever it DOES happen? the incident is pretty crazy.
This hostel looks so clean and conveniently located for THIRTEEN DOLLARS!!! 🤯 I spend more at my coffee shop every morning! Also, drip rating 10/10
Thanks for the high drip rating ✌
Honestly best value!!
I have a light 💡and drip 🚿what more do you need?
that is a very nice hotel for $13
There definitely is a misconception that everything is mega expensive in Japan. At least from a UK point of view.
$13 USD?! wow that's inexpensive! The place looks cozy and a great spot to crash for the night.
If I was alone? Sure! In my current situation, wife would disagree. lol
I wouldn't stay there, but mostly because I snore and I don't want to be murdered by a stranger. I would do a cubical hotel instead.

Indeedly the cheapest 🎉 Will consider Come visit LA Disneyland and stay at Freehand! 😊
Nice video. What camera did you use?
I wouldn't stay there, I prefer my own private space personally. Although I could see the benefits for folks who do like a social space, cheaper etc.
Thats crazy good value, even $25 would be very good value.
what a deal!
