After watching the video I have learned the six features of curriculum which are, WHO TEACHES-the Teacher, WHO DO THE TEACHER TEACH-the learners, WHAT DO THE TEACHER TEACH- knowledge,skills and values, HOW DO THE TEACHERS TEACH- strategies and methods, HOW MUCH OF THE TEACHING WAS LEARNED- performance, WITH WHOM DO WE TEACH- community and partners. Their are three approaches to Curriculum design namely; subject-centered, learner-centered, and problem-centered design. Subject-centered curriculum design revolves around a particular subject matter or discipline, such as mathematics, literature or biology. learner-centered approach views learners as active agents. They bring their own knowledge, past experiences, education, and ideas - and this impacts how they take on board new information and learn. Problem-centred curriculum models take a 'learner-centered approach that empowers learners to conduct research, integrate theory and practice, and apply knowledge and skills to develop a viable solution to a defined problem.

Knowing curriculum that it is the roadmap that serves a s the guide for educators to achieve their mission and vision, it should be in the both extent of student and teacher to well plot a plan in designing the learning process. It should be a give and take mode of learning to assure quality and standard educational attainment. Quality education requires quality teacher. Quality education requires qualified and competent teachers, we all know that Teacher quality is essential to get the best out of students that enable them to become the best version of themselves, a quality teacher truly cares about their students and lets them know they are valued. The teachers teach every learners in their own strategies or methods in a way the learners easily understand the discussion for them to gain and acquired knowlegde, skills, and values in a particular subject matter.

Upon watching the video, I realized that being teacher is not easy. Teachers plays a significant role in society and in education. Without teachers, their is no education.

This should be considered in curriculum to development and achieve the objective and also to have a productive learning outcomes.

In lesson 5 approaches to curriculum design, my insight to this video discussion that I watched is about the six feature of curriculum and in addition to this is about the role of a teachers in the curriculum process is to help students develop an engaged relationship with the content. Active learning will increase the focus and retention of the curriculum resulting in an exciting learning environment.

In this video discussion I learned about the Approaches to Curriculum Design . The common approaches to curriculum design includes: Child or Learner-Centered Approach, Subject-Centered Approach, Problem-centered and human relation-centered approach.
Child or Learner-Centered Approach - This approach to curriculum design is based on the underlying philosophy that the child is the center of the educational process.
Subject-Centered Approach - The primary focus is the subject matter. The emphasis is on bits and pieces of information which are detached from life. The subject matter serves as means of identifying problems in living.
Problem-Centered Approach This approach is based on a curriculum design which assumes that in the process of living, children experience problems.

In this video it shows on how much significant the role of a teacher it is and I've learned about the role of a teacher as part of students success. Teacher are the second Father/Mother of a student that will guide learner to become a better version of themselves. • The teacher
The teacher is the one who teaches. Quality Education requires quality teachers and good teachers bring a shining light into the learning environment. They are ideal companions of the learners and these teachers should be given support with their continuing development in order to keep abreast with the changing demands of a learning society.
• The Learners
The learners are the one whom the teacher teaches. The learners are at the center stage in the educative process. They are the most important factors in the learning environment. There is no teaching without them so teachers should understand and accept the learner’s diverse background. Considering the domain of diversity of learners will allow the individual learner to develop his multiple intelligences at his own pace and their needs should be addressed and be met that’s why teachers are to provide learning opportunities and varied experiences.
• Knowledge, Skills, Values
Knowledge, Skills, Values is what teachers teach. It should be remembered that what students learn will be obsolete in ten years, and half of what they need to know to succeed in work and in life has not yet been fully developed and will have to be learned as they go along in the future. The value of the educational process lies not just in what they learn, but how they learn, and how good they will be in continuing to learn after they leave school.
• Strategies and Methods
Strategies and Methods is the process on how do teachers teach. Teachers should select teaching methods, learning activities and instructional materials or resources appropriate to learners and aligned to objectives of the lesson. Good teachers utilize information derived from assessment to improve teaching and learning and adopt a culture of excellence.
• Performance
Performance determines how much of the teaching was learned. At the end of the teaching act, it is necessary to find out if they objectives set were accomplished. In curriculum we call this the learning outcomes. These learning outcomes indicate the performance of both the teachers and the learners. Learning outcomes are the product performance of the learners as a result of teaching and performance is a feature of a curriculum that should be given emphasis.
• Community Partners
Community Partners are the individuals whom we teach. Teaching is a collaborative undertaking. While teachers are the focal point in the learning process, they must draw upon the resources of their environment and of their partners to be effective. Partnership is a means and not an end to be pursued in it. An absence of partnership often means a poor definition of education ends.
The 3 Approaches to Curriculum Design was discussed in the video. The common approaches to curriculum design include child or learner-centered, subject-centered and problem-centered approaches. Child or Learner-Centered Approach Child or Learner-centered approach places the child at the center of education. It begins with understanding the educational contexts from which a child comes. It continues with the teacher evaluating the child’s progress towards learning objectives. The curriculum is constructed based on the needs, interest, purposes and abilities of the learners. The curriculum leads the learners in the recognition of concerns and problems in seeking solutions. The learners are considered problem solvers. Problems persistent with life and society that affect daily living are also considered.
