Thank you Ted, you have helped me lose 100 pounds. I have 60 to go. Basically I eat once a day, around 12oz of meat and half of a sweet potato or a can of green beans or sauteed zucchini. Sometimes when I'm craving sweets I eat a handful of pecans and a piece of sugar free Russell stovers chocolate to keep me from binging out. I do have heavy cream in my coffee in the morning. But that's basically it. About 1200 calories per day I'm 6-2 and 270lbs right now. Thanks man! Oh and my blood work is almost perfect, my type2 diabetes is gone and my liver no longer shows signs of being fatty. Amazing

Thank you for The P:E book! I bought it last week and it's so simple but yet a game changer for me. I went around the kitchen and wrote the P:E on several items to get the hang of it.
Thank you Dr. Naiman. Your synopsis of the nutrient cycle between animals and plants, coupled with your overview of human dietary history, is the most succinct and easily comprehensible explanatory model on RUclips to convey what the optimal diet is for us.
Absolutely agree with this, thanks for the succinct argument against combined carbs & fats. It's easy to say if calories_in < calories_out you lose weight, but the hunger (and snacking) is what gets most people to drop a diet within a couple weeks. I'm now on the tail end of a diet that I've mostly stuck to for 10 months now (stuck to it perfectly for 6 of those) and I've lost 38kg. I went from obese for my height range to only a few kg above the perfect average, and most of that is just down to cutting out the carbs as well as reducing the fats. It's incredible, after the first couple weeks I hardly felt hungry anymore and the weight was just falling off of me week after week. All I need now is to start putting on some muscle and I'll be happy!
Thank you for video and the book! I am -10 lbs now, 1+ month. Please, make a video about the diet for our dogs. They are part of our family and their diet basically depends of our knowledge and choices we make for them.

Hey Ted, I appreciate your passion, patience and dedication for helping people reach their dietary goals. I dropped 25 pounds and am at a comfortable and healthy weight for myself. While using a high protein/low carb diet was beneficial, I do now eat carbs and fat In addition to a high protein diet. While I may not follow your instruction to a T, I want to thank you for leading me in the right direction.
Simple, easy to understand, and just what people need to hear. Thank you as always good sir! Also, love hearing what I believe is the dog sleeping and snoring :-)
Is there a dog sleeping/snoring in the background in the beginning? I love it!! Love all your content, Ted! Loved your book, The P:E Diet. Keep the awesome content coming! Edit: Yes, I think that was Kiley (spelling?). Reminds me of my dog! Half the day snoring, and half the day keeping us safe from people making deliveries.
I call processed foods the infantilization of the modern diet. Why? Well what do infants eat a lot of? Answer: Breast milk, and breast milk is one of the few foods in nature that is BOTH high in both carbs and fats. So when the processed food industry is selling us engineered products that are precisely designed to be both high in carbs and fats , they are attempting to infantilize our palates. In no other area of life, as full grown adults, would we want to be treated like babies. The same should go with our diets.
It took me a while to get this but thanks to Ted I have finally seen the light.... I' m using fish and greens for The P:E Rapid Fat Loss Plan((Protein-sparing modified fast) YES! make many more... very enjoyable. (and thank you again)
Thanks for an interesting video. Only recently started to reflect on my calories intake. At 68 years male and obese on 1500-2000 cal per day. Reflecting back on younger days when I was very fit, strong and fast, my real food consumption was 800-1000 cal per day. By all I read I should have lost weight on 1500-2000 and starved to death on 800-1000. Am I the only person who's body appears to be operating well outside the accepted norms!? I have decided to listen to my body again and ignore well intended guidelines and norms.
Although I'm half of your age, I feel like I have to agree. I don't know if perhaps I was snacking too often and not counting those calories, but 1600 calories per day would absolutely make me put on weight. There's no way I could do three proper meals per day, even an average breakfast and a large dinner would be too much. When I've been losing weight lately, I was generally on 800-1200 per day (generally 1200 for a couple days, then 800 for a couple and repeat) which allowed me to lose roughly 1-1.5kg per week. Even now when I'm coming back to a more normal diet, I have to be so careful about how much I eat. I think it might also be down to me not getting as much exercise as I could be getting, but that still doesn't account for the spare 1000 calories of energy.
I'm 54 Male 6ft 2in 270lbs down from 370 I eat around 1200 and am losing about 5 pounds a month. Any more calories than that and I do not lose anything. I have to eat protien and carbs. My system doesn't do well on protein and fat. I eat as late in the day as I can and only once per day. Sometimes a handful of pecans and a piece of sugar free chocolate before bed and I wake up lighter than the day before. Go figure.

Eating too many calories is the real problem. Sure, what you eat is important but insulin in itself isn’t the problem. Many people have lost weight and improved their lab results with high carb diets. How? They ate less food. Now, eating mainly animal foods makes the most sense, since they’re the most nutritious and don’t leave you as hungry as carb based foods, but that doesn’t mean carbs are evil. Context matters.
Walter Jennings, as someone who now eats twice the calories as they used to, like many of us in the low carb/keto/carnivore space...I strongly disagree
