👍👍👍
Thanks for promoting a great American made product for survival community. 😎🇺🇸
Crap I don't get paid for a week still, I really want one of the first run.
It's already sold out 😂
How many retakes did you have to do to get the perfect shot of the axe in the tree. lol
Being a Hardcore Hammer fan anyway, THIS "new" steel idea is a game changer! For me, as a 65yr old woman, I like the weight, and also the quality. I simply can't afford cheap crap I've got to buy over and over. I'm rebuilding my Western NC Mountain farm, after the tenant burned both the House and Barn to the ground. This replaces a few items, so I don't need to carry them around all day. Really looks great! I'm checking it out now!
"simply can't afford cheap crap" is one of the wisest statements I have ever read.

Oh it's VERY true! My husband just passed away from cancer, and I don't have the extra income. I'm trying to ensure my kids & grandkids all have a safe place to go if SHTF. To rebuild from scratch at my age isn't easy, and right now, VERY expensive. A quick example of this is taking my 8yr old grandson out for a week's camping trip. I wanted to teach him some bush craft skills, as well as target practice with his new .22. {very exciting when you are 8}.. I got a hatchet from Amazon for about 60 bucks, and within the first day the handle broke, and the blade was trashed. We weren't Rock splitting! It was just tent pegs, and fire wood! Teaching him to baton killed it... I couldn't even sharpen it much. I like to buy what I can pass down. Kinda like the cast iron cookware I've got. It came from my great grandmother and I'm using it every day. Well made, long lasting items is the key to saving money. Especially if you farm or homestead!
You go!
Me too 65 well done
@Dragonslayer Haven't run across you on the channels in a while. Sorry to hear and prayers for all the best.
Video was 5hrs old and sold out already ... Very nice! Sad I missed it but happy it sold that quick.
The crisp top edge for striking ferros was a well remembered detail that a lot of outdoor tool makers seem to forget.
I've got a very similar hatchet that my grandfather gave me about 65 years ago. He called it a shingling hatchet. It was for shaping and nailing wooden shingles. A good tool. Nice video. Good Luck, Rick
"Outstanding " good design, thanks for your time and effort you put in on this tool build, she's a beauty.
Great looking axe. I enjoyed watching today. God bless Nora
Thanks for the midweek video!
Nice looking camp tool! Gotta have one!!
See you Sunday!
Shawn, Outstanding Product and Video AF. Thanks for sharing this information and All Your Hard Work and Sharing Your Time and Knowledge ,Experience, Wisdom.
Wow, HH should be proud. You did a great demo.
Sean, Kelly I always watch your videos and I love ❤️ them keep on being you love ❤️ from Ohio Irene and god bless
Nice hatchet. Watched RUclips Video +11hr. Hatchet is sold out. AUD 430 plus shipping and taxes = 2x local price of GFB SFA.
Just bought one, its the least I can do to support you and all the free content you've put out over the years that ive consumed for free lol. Appreciate the greats of the new generation like you, David Canterbury, and Josh Enyart continuing to pioneer bushcraft/woodcraft!
NICE! Feature rich. $250 is steep but quality + inflation + customized = EXPENSIVE! Still a sharp tool. Congrats and luck on sales!👍👍👍
That new little ax screams out one thing,
Pure BADASSNESS!!!!
I wish. I'd love one but I can't afford it. Looks awesome though.
Amazing axe, Corporal! That looks epically fantabulous! Great video!!!!! 🪵🏕🔥🤗
I like the lanyard addition and agree with you about it being an added security feature. They need to add a paracord lanyard with one of those spring loaded “keepers”, so you can tighten the lanyard around your wrist. It would prevent it from coming off regardless of how large or small your wrist is.
A dream come true - 2 hardcore hammers in 1 episode- corporal af!
This axe looks amazing really nice design that thing is awesome if i could afford it I would 100% help support the channel by purchasing one I just personally don’t have the disposable income for it but man that thing is awesome. Nice work!
Being an island boy from the Caribbean, I'm more of a cutlass or machete kind of guy.
But I am definitely getting one of these for my blade collection.
That's friggin' awesome👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Esting makes one with a longer handle. It's called a tear off hammer.
Most any full size single bit axe will work the same. You just cut the handle. It's called a Woodsman's Axe.
I appreciate your willingness to embrace newer materials into your gear choices. (In an often-debated vein, I absolutely prefer my knives to be stainless, an I have heard folks argue that "Joe Blow" was one of the early trappers/explorers, and he carried high carbon steel blades". Yes, he did. But he also grumbled about their rusting so quickly. We each have our preferences, and we can carry on with a more primitive style of gear, but we can do so with incorporated newer materials.) Once again, thanks for what you do - and for you continuing on being YOU!
Wow... Incredible. Best of luck with this new venture.
I'm appreciating that it comes with a meat tenderizer.😁
Thanks for the well thought out features Corporal! Just picked one up🎉
Its a very simple and handy hatchet. We use to call them a shake axe.
I love the vision of using modern tech to improve old tools. Looking to get one myself Corp, keep rocking
Just caught the vid, missed the first batch, catching the second though, excellent 👍
Vert NICE & extremely IMPRESSIVE! It evidently has a SUPERIOR Cutting Edge! Thanks for introducting Hardcore to your viewers!
Wow. That's awesome
That new axe is a thing of BEAUTY. I am damned impressed. OUTSTANDING.👍❤️
Shawn, man, you absolutely 💯 nailed it! ( pun intended!) I'm glad you have made one! Much easier than making your own! Perfect in my opinion! Great piece of kit and every home and bushcraft person needs one, or 3!
thank you
You are very welcome! I'm very impressed! These have the features I personally need in what I'm looking for! As you have said before, buy once, cry once! And talking about looking sexy and mean.. sorry bro, I see that everyday in the mirror! Jk, absolutely 💯 love it!
I found a rusty carpenters hatchet made by Estwing in a shed 30 years ago. Sharpened it up, Cleaned it up and freshened up the leather and it's still chopping away. I'll keep my money in my pocket.
That’s slicker than greased owl turds!👍🏻
Man it looks awesome 🥰 I want one, hopefully they'll be able to deliver to the UK. Keep up with the amazing work 🤩
Day 1 review and first impression. I got one from the first run and i am not disappointed in my decision. The laser engraving on the handle and head was definitely worth the extra cost. Having the signature edition didn't stop me from making some stakes and driving them then cutting down a small tree. It preformed better than expected and did the job with ease. Im very pleased!
Missed it! Already sold out. I have a fetish for sharp items 😏 so will be getting this hatchet.😍
Wow! That's so pretty
..if an axe can be pretty, that is it.
Looks suspiciously like a council tool camp carver. 😂😂
Yeah that's what I was thinking too.
Nice design and would love to have one but me as an average dad of 3, no way I can justify that kind of price
Good old fashioned tools that will last you a lifetime and then some. Welcome back. Outstanding AF!!!
Best hatchet I've ever seen! Seriously!❤
Thanks
@recall5811 Np, and thank you for all that you do! I'm still waiting in anticipation of you making your very own bushcraft knife lol.
Beaver Bill makes some of his axes and Hawks from 4140, it’s a good steel. I believe jackhammer bits are made from it. This looks nice: it reminds me of the Camp Carver. I hope the make a version with a longer handle.
Looks like an excellent axe/hatchet. However, my 1958 Machete and 1980 Camp Axe have served me well over the past 65 and 45 years, so I'll keep using these ones.
While I agree that the design changes are solid and the tool will perform as advertised, 4140 is not at all a new or noteworthy steel. Imo, 5160 is still a better choice for hatchet and smaller axe heads. What choice would have turned heads, at like, light speed, would be a steel like CPM-3V, or any other suitably tough CPM steel. Hope to see more new things soon. Cheers
Yes and no 5160 will hold the edge longer but 4140 is "tougher" when used hard. But you will need the edge sharpen sooner than one made of 5160. I have tooling made out of 4140 all the time for wear and if it sees hard use I'll have made of P20 or D3.
The additional .20% carbon and then chromium make 5160 an overall more versatile choice than 4140. The final working properties depend greatly on the heat treatment though. 5160 can be made harder than 4140, but 4140 doesn't possess an equal capacity for increased toughness over 5160.
@@mdingessthis^^^ 5160 is much better steel
Hahah! That's a baddass camp axe! I hope I can afford one in time to get one!
...Aaaaaand, they're sold out. I like that they got the pre-order though. Nice!
Looks great! Love the design and the weight too! Living on a farm, it's not just for camping alone!!
My all time favorite is your underground HQ.
Good Job Corp. Bowmar hand grip tape would work well. Love the squillel meat tenderizer.
Good afternoon from Syracuse NY brother and thank you for sharing your adventures and wood lore
You Sir are the MAN!!! ❤Thank you for ALL that you do and have taught us. You are appreciated ❤
Thanks Shawn, just ordered one! Congrats on the awesome Collab.
That is perfection exactly what I'm lookin for to use in my camping
Outstanding. Reminds me a little of the old carpenters hatchets. Most useful item ever.
mentioned in the video
Awesome and outstanding as always. Thanks for sharing and taking us along
I love it that is one bad ass tool and I love that you have your name on it love ya Corporal
Nice camp axe.Cool design and looks well made!
The Camp Companion does everything but, the dishes!😀👍
A good axe and hammer can do a lot of work on a bushcraft or survival camp. Love it. Outstanding AF
Just got mine on order thanks corporal! Super excited to have the signature addition!!!
I can't wait to get my hands on this thing. Gonna get plenty of milage this summer...
and sold out! heck yeah man...
yet 2nd run is available
That is so sweet looking, that’ll frighten everything in the forest 😊👊🔥
You had me at 41/40 steel
That is a thing of beauty! I've had my Survivalist Hatchet for over 3 years now, and it's incredible! Nice design!
The techniques you test save several possible back yard/ back woods/Bushcraft injuries from happening..💪💪
It seems my work schedule has interfered with my ability to early bird myself into first run Corporal's Corner merch...you're sold out of the first run Companions before I could even try to grab one up. $250 a piece, and they're sold out. I was going to get one as a gift for my brother, but he's gonna have to settle for second run. He's got big shoulders; he'll get over it.
I'm tickled to pieces with this level of success you're enjoying, Shawn. I like your no BS, straightforward approach to what you teach. Life doesn't tolerate fools gladly, and we shouldn't get used to it doing so. Hard lessons are usually the best ones. What don't kill ya.....
Keep up the good work. Thank you for what you do.
Mine arrived today. Camp logo on the handle, back of the head is clean. The finish is like in this video. Chose to smoothen the handle with fine grain sandpaper for my comfort. Very impressed!
Total Badassery!!!
Keep Killin It, Corporal!!!
Semper Fi, Marine
"Nothing like a good piece of Hickory" - Clint Eastwood (Pale Rider)
Good looking axe Shawn
Great design and ideas!! Very well done!!
Already sold out! 😭
Semper Fi, and congrats brother!
(Edit: yes, I still bought the normie version)
So glad they changed the blade profile the previous ( looked ridiculous) I’ll keep my eye out for the 19” version.
Congrats on getting this out, I know it will take off. Will have to pick one up.
I just bought one looks bad ass thanks Shawn long time subscriber here 👍😎
Just ordered one!
A very impressive piece of equipment , well designed and thought out congratulations on this collaboration
Have my Hardcore Hammers axe and it’s my main tool out in the woods on overnighters.😎
Last year you touted the survivor hatchet as the best thing since sliced bread. Now, you're raving about this one. What are you going to do with last year's hatchet, put in a yard sale?
was that stated
You can NEVER have enough axes and hatches IMO😜
Remember, you're dealing with a miserable guy who is always unpleasant when he responds then whines about viewership like a true crybaby. @@danielmatthews4262
Nice Ax!!
Proud of and happy for you Corporal!
Looks great Cpl. Great job.
Good looking tool
Nice axe, excellent breakdown, thanks.
