There are so many layers to this story. One of the points that is missed is that her aunt tries lots of very fancy food she finds delicious and attractive. To the poor girl that is all foreign and unknown, she needs something familiar and comforting. Simple foods like pasta or pizza.... This is what he understands, and make for her.
Not really. It was also about her being able to make the choice to eat HERSELF. It wasn’t someone pushing her to eat something. He didn’t TELL her to eat. He made her want it, and let her make the choice to eat it. She would have eaten anything her aunt made because she’s starving, but she would have to relinquish CONTROL, and after the trauma it’s the only thing she has left.🤷♂️
@@portalina that’s a very good observation. And it’s not just about trauma either. It worked with my autistic nephew. He was so averse food that he could’ve died if he hadn’t been allowed to eat, whatever he could eat and also put on Similac or whatever that nutritional drink is called for older kids. I finally told my mom who was doing most of the cooking for him to maybe let him help her cook. because I also have a great deal of food aversions and when I was little, she would let me watch her cook so I would learn things alongside her and as I grew, I was able to figure out what parts of the food that I didn’t like and why I didn’t like them so with my nephew, if there was something an ingredient in a food that he didn’t like he would no longer trust any version of that food be a texture a taste a smell he didn’t trust the recipe to be different. If if one thing that he did like changed the recipe just a tiny bit he would no longer trust it and no longer eat it. It got to the point where he was so sick that his pediatrician said that if all he would eat was a cookie just give him the damn cookie. So when he was finally allowed to start getting involved in the kitchen, he started wanting to taste things. An ingredient here an ingredient. There may be a little bite of food here taste it see if you like it change it around. I’m glad they didn’t do that to him because that would’ve made him so much more sick. I’m glad that they listened to my recommendations. I use this method with my kids at work. Like I have a child that struggles to color. (My brother did too at that age.) So I sit beside them and start to color. Then I ask the child what color I should use next. Then this usually spurs the child to start to color on my page and we color together for a minute. Then I give to them and tell them to finish it since I have something else to do. They usually do. Just like adults, sometimes things feel so daunting to start so we don’t want to do them. But when you have someone there walking you through it, it makes the process easier to start.

... Doesn't all food smell stimulate hunger? Not to be pedantic, but unless you're smelling fermented fish or something really stinky, wouldn't any delicious smell achieve the same thing?
@jakehull2118 nothing I found indicates basil helps with hunger. However, it did lead me to links about Ayurvedic medicine. So if you're gonna shill about dubious medical practices, don't pretend like it's "known" to do anything.

That's the way to a genuine women's heart that has a child. Taking the physical romance very slow meanwhile showing gentleness and pursuing a relationship with the kid that bridges a path to trust, respect & very wholesome relationship. At first it may seem you're using the kids as leverage to score with the beautiful mother but mid race and near the end you fall in love with the normality and family life and love them all like there your own flesh and blood.
He ate some in front of her to show her it was okay. It wasn't just about enticing her. Some people need to see someone else do something first to feel comfortable and safe doing that thing. Very smart, very sweet.

Can someone explain the meaning of this khatha. Its so powerful. I was sick for more than 2 years. Just got healed recently after my cousin brother gave me this words to recite. I recite in a glass of water and drank it. My body quit shrinking because something inside is eating up the body nutrition and health and luck.
There are studies on this, on the psychological power of "subtle suggestion". We humans are inately social creatures, if we see someone enjoying, engaging with, and or perceiving other actions; even if we aren't outright told what we should do, the subtle suggestion of seeing someone engage with something in a certain way can influence an individuas willingness to engage as well. In this case, first it was sniffing the basil and getting her familiar with its pleasant herbal smell, and next the pasta by not really asking her to eat it, rather showing her that it's really tasty and leaving it with her for awhile. No need to ask them or tell them to, they've already seen someone else enjoying it alot, therefore it must at least be worth trying.
That’s not her aunts fault every time her aunt makes her food she refuses eat it, besides she just lost her mother and she couldn’t sleep or eat anything for days. Her aunt is doing the best as she can and she’s is new to parenting.
This is the exact reason that I am a chef. A good meal can do more than fill an empty belly. Cooking for someone is an act of service, and the right chef makes sure that you can taste the love in each dish. She didn’t just need to eat, she needed to know that people still cared about even though her parents were gone. It’s more than just a plate of food, it’s telling someone that you care about their well-being. ❤
I’ve done this with my son before when he’s being fussy about eating things, ask him to hold something he thinks I’ve made for myself and just give him a bit of time with it. Really is the same as giving someone a big red button - they’ll push it eventually 😂
From this movie I heard the name Zoe for the first in 2009 and I knew my daughter will be named Zoe, ten years later in 2019 I named my first girl Zoe...❤️
This has always worked with my kid.. I make something she "doesn't like" and when I start eating, I'm acting like it's genuinely THE best dish I've ever had.. doing the whole "mmm, god this is incredible! That (insert ingredient) is just so (insert delicious tantalizing words)" while slurping, making faces of irresistible pleasure, until she just can't take it anymore. Just last week, she went from hating red, orange, and green bell peppers and onions to asking for them again the next day! Point being, humans seeing other humans thoroughly enjoying something awakens their want to try it! Works 95% of the time! 😂
True. 95% of the time. I'm in the 5% when it comes to curry. You won't get me interested in eating it because when you walk toward me with it, even if you are going to eat it yourself, I'm going to run from the smell. But most other stuff that trick will work.
in an episode of House, a child who has autism is freaking out not wanting to be put to sleep for the surgery, so House walks in and takes the mask, places it on him and breathes it in a few times, then places the mask over the kids face once the kid sees what House is doing and eventually goes to sleep. The parents asked what the heck he did, and House responds with "The monkey doesn't want to eat the red berries until he sees another monkey eat them." basically saying "monkey see, monkey do"
The truest purest joy is gained from good food. And any food is great when you have not eaten in ages. I know cause i was starved as a kid due to abuse i endured. The fastest way to turn a bad day into a good one is through food but NEVER overdo it. Moderation is key.
Me and a girl met on an app, we talked a bunch and found our common interests and both trust each other tons, we haven’t met yet due to distance but I think we both really like each other. Just yesterday while we were on a discord call we had a connection issue as she was telling a joke, when I didn’t respond she started to feel a little panicked that she said something wrong, while I hadn’t realised a problem had happened. Once we both realised that something had happened we fixed it and I made sure that she was okay, we both laughed about it by the end but we both understood and talked through the problem. Heck later she fell asleep during the call and instead of trying to get her attention again I let her sleep cause I would rather she was rested than trying to stay awake talking to me. I don’t have any real desires past what we have right now and I think that’s okay for both of us, for me that’s exactly how things should be.
This is a method that works so well with kids. And parrots too actually (many parrots have the intelligence of a permanent toddler). Show the kid something is safe, in this case, show them that you enjoy the food, and itll help them be more likely to try it. Take it slow, help them feel safe. This also applies to activities. For example, trying to encourage a child to draw or colour. Engage with them, start ysing your own colouring page. Ask their opinions about the colours you use, the art you're colouring, etc. They'll often want to draw on the same paper as you. And then do as he does in the video, give them space when they're engaged in it.
She’s her aunt, the girl’s mother passed away in the car accident and didn’t make it. You should really watch the movie before you post anything about it!

No it’s despicable me two
Did this kid just give us homework
No reservations is what it is called , thank you for letting us know
Aunt a baddie whats her name
The actor who played the guy also played Harvey Dent
His name is
Aaron Eckhart
It was not only "the magic of food"; it WAS MORE the disposition and the heart of gentleman !!!
She's so adorable and grateful.
🥺
“Save some for me.”
Girl said, nah. 😂❤
I loved how he casually hopped up on the table and started eating. Oh, gotta do something, hands her the bowl, and walks away. He was sneaky and sweet.
Favourite part of this is he makes her smell basil which is known to stimulate hunger. Impeccable.
Oh I see.. thank you
... Doesn't all food smell stimulate hunger? Not to be pedantic, but unless you're smelling fermented fish or something really stinky, wouldn't any delicious smell achieve the same thing?
@@Seboy666I mentioned basil as an individual food/ingredient. Search up if smelling basil can increase appetite and come back to me. Please :)
@jakehull2118 nothing I found indicates basil helps with hunger. However, it did lead me to links about Ayurvedic medicine. So if you're gonna shill about dubious medical practices, don't pretend like it's "known" to do anything.
@@Seboy666you clearly didn’t look, or your Google Fu is weak…I saw a couple, and an NIH paper about the smell of basil reducing stress, guess what stress reduces…
…so if you decrease stress, appetite increases
But there are articles supporting the initial claim of it stimulating appetite
That's the way to a genuine women's heart that has a child. Taking the physical romance very slow meanwhile showing gentleness and pursuing a relationship with the kid that bridges a path to trust, respect & very wholesome relationship. At first it may seem you're using the kids as leverage to score with the beautiful mother but mid race and near the end you fall in love with the normality and family life and love them all like there your own flesh and blood.
I love this movie.... The chemistry between Catherine Zeta Jones and Aaron Eckhardt is just soooooo ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Aaron Eckhart, what a brilliant actor
For anyone wondering, the movie is “Tropic Thunder” that little girl is actually RDJ

You so funny 😂

Greta movie
Such a beautiful moment
He ate some in front of her to show her it was okay. It wasn't just about enticing her. Some people need to see someone else do something first to feel comfortable and safe doing that thing. Very smart, very sweet.
It was also a simple dish. Her Aunt (Zeta Jones' was not making her things like that.
@claregallacher2684 that too
I kno what that like loosing my mother 7 months ago I couldn't eat anything loss so much weight n loss in grief 💔. If it wasnt for my sister her kids n my brother I don't think I would have made it😢.
I've seen this movie, with these beautiful people...awesome movie and very romantic ❤❤❤
Children see, children do. That short video made all students in my class know how to persuade kids, when we do children psychology, and education psychology in elementary school.
looking g at this clip brings tears to my eyes ❤

The second shot of the little girl eating was a HUGE fork full!!😂😂😂❤❤❤
Such a beautiful story that kid precious made me cry
The trauma for her was overwhelming. His kindness, and skill made her live again
Can someone explain the meaning of this khatha. Its so powerful. I was sick for more than 2 years. Just got healed recently after my cousin brother gave me this words to recite. I recite in a glass of water and drank it. My body quit shrinking because something inside is eating up the body nutrition and health and luck.
what an amazing person this human is
I thought this turned into a beautiful love story ❤️ 💕
Tl;dr - monkey see monkey do
This movie was one of my first grown up romantic movies. Its stuck with me. ❤ Such a good one

😂 I absolute understand you getting the YSL blushes just for the packaging. Never has the word "irresistible" been truer 😂 Thank you for this video.
The movie's name is "No Reservations" 2007
Thank you bro
Thankkkkkk youuuu so much❤
This is so beautiful❤
Shes an adorable little girl poor thing was hungry .
That’s not her aunts fault every time her aunt makes her food she refuses eat it, besides she just lost her mother and she couldn’t sleep or eat anything for days. Her aunt is doing the best as she can and she’s is new to parenting.
Glorious Ultra Panavision🌹🍝🎆 Watched this on loop for 86 mins, The Kitchen is Paradise & Humans are permanent Residents, Beautiful🥃
It was something simple that she could enjoy, and he let it be HER choice
Simple as that
Also smelling fresh basil can stimulate appetite
He low key looks and sounds like Kristoff from Frozen❄
I see it 😂❤
😂 he really does!
Hey, you're right 😊
I’ve done this with my son before when he’s being fussy about eating things, ask him to hold something he thinks I’ve made for myself and just give him a bit of time with it. Really is the same as giving someone a big red button - they’ll push it eventually 😂
The kitchen is an altar, food is a medicine, cooking is praying. Not much nicer than cooking a meal for someone with love ❤️
The parents asked what the heck he did, and House responds with "The monkey doesn't want to eat the red berries until he sees another monkey eat them." basically saying "monkey see, monkey do"
This is beautifully written! Especially for an herbalist like me. Basil is a natural mood enhancer. It helps with anxiety and depression.
He understood the assignment. He brought two forks and left with one.
Batman the dark knight had ups and downs for sure
Damn, both mother and daughter are so beautiful
That's her aunt, not her mom.
@mindtoggler1368 👍🏼didn't watch the movie. Should I?
@@phuongvu527 If you like heartwarming stories with some tragedy mixed in, then definitely.
She’s her aunt, the girl’s mother passed away in the car accident and didn’t make it. You should really watch the movie before you post anything about it!
I like 👍 his strategy of handling a situation that only needed a certain amount of attention getting inside the mind she was definitely 💯 hungry 😋 he knew sometimes someone else can see something we don’t see that’s why you 👂 the elders say it takes a village to raise a child 👧

I would have never expected to see the super girl from gray’s anatomy in a different movie! Such a great young actor
I always get Aaron Eckhart mixed up with the guy who plays Jaime Lanister, especially in this and the Dark Knight where his hair looks like that. I was gonna make a joke about him sitting next to the girl and pushing her off the table, but now it just doesn't make sense.... it might not have made sense anyway.
The Quiet Man. When I want water, I'll drink water. When I want whisky, I'll drink whisky. The chil' didn't want no fancy $300 plate. Spaghetti pleases most kids 💯 My response is lighthearted. I've seen the movie and the lil darlin' was going through it. There is a happy ending. AMEN.
