Wow, AI Clark jumped from "Let me try to non-lethally cut her hair" to "Let me suffocate both of us in a bank vault" quick! He needs to lay off that AI coffee!
I prefer the continuities where Lois knows Clark's secret and they have a healthy relationship, but there is undeniably something entertaining about visiting the Silver Age shenanigans from time to time...
Lois standing in front of a computer that can solve anything and who, almost every month, hatches a scheme to find out who Superman is, DOES NOT ask the computer "What is Superman's secret identity." I guess that would be too easy. And yes, the computer should spit back out that it cannot in any way harm Superman, thus cannot answer that question, but really, there should be a panel showing the attempt at least.
I would be suspicious if after all this Superman flew me in front of a computer that can answer any possible answer. And then left. She probably doesn't want for it to go into Lockdown Mode immediately after asking . Although... doesn't this kinda answer who Superman is in a way? It's like "Yeah if YOU were from Krypton clearly Clark would fill the role of snoopy asshole. Not Jimmy or Perry or some rando that you haven't heard of...Clark.
@BATCHARRO yeah, the difference in Clark's behaviour towards Superman and Krypton Girl should make it clear or at the very least reinforce the suspicions she already has.
Wow, this was quite a story. I love how Lois has an actual insight into how her "real world" behavior might be adversely affecting Superman's career. I did NOT see self-awareness-assessment coming at the end of a Silver Age DC tale!
Apparently the one bit of logic still making my brain think is why “Krypton Girl?” If she is the one from Krypton, there is no Superman so there is no Kara to be Supergirl. And if Kara was Lois’ cousin, by following the laws of sidekick naming, she would become Krypton Lass.
So in this Roleswap Elseworld: Lois Lane is Clark Kent Clark Kent is Lana Lang Do we have to conclude that Lana Lang is the one getting all the wedding in this universe while pinning after Lois?
Unless Lana is Jimmy and Jimmy is the one marrying random villains, aliens, and monsters to make Krypton Girl jealous. Actually, even if Jimmy is his usual self he's probably marrying some of that stuff, possibly because he drank an unidentified potion, broke a totem, or just signed something without reading it.
So, this is basically fanfic taking form of the canon story. I really love these sweat and strange slice of life stories. They make the world feel grounded and big.
It makes me think... Krypton Girl was a computer simulation. The pre-Crisis Super-Sons were revealed to be computer simulations that then came to life briefly. So, possibly Krypton Girl could've come to life briefly?
I wish Obsession would make a comeback. A crazy super-stan with powers. She could bring back some silver age moments of fighting for superman’s affection. I also like her other name “Mrs. Superman.”
I just love those Kurt S. expressions 🎉 they bring me so much joy. 08:21 Clark looks at the news report the same way Larry Luthor looked at his father's inventions.😂
If Batman thought there was even a 1% chance that Krypton Girl would become an evil red giant again then he would have to stop her. And her mother's name isn't Martha.
The way Superman and his "girlfriend" Lois are always acting so pretty and scheming against each other is very similar to the classic E.C. Seger "POPEYE" comic strips. (Originally called "Thimble Theater".) They were always messing with each other. Such as when Olive married a rich guy and Popeye got a job as her butler just to ruin the marriage. Or like when Popeye became a king and Olive plotted to ruin his reign because she was jealous of the princess he was arranged to marry. Gloriously spiteful and petty. Just like Lois and Supes.
The fact that her costume, mask and wig all grew in proportion to her is weird enough. But how does she keep her wig on when flying at super speed and stuff. Kryptonian hair pins?
The Elseworlds story Superman/Batman Generations has a version of Supergirl whose wig was "electrostatically bonded to my bio-kinetic aura" and would only come off if she intentionally removed it. Maybe Krypton Girl had something similar?
I use Silver-age Lois and Superman as good examples of what not to do in a relationship. The rules are simple: don't try to figure out your partner's secret identity, they'll tell you when they're ready; don't go around marrying other people for no other reasons than for the sake of shenanigans, no need to drag others into your mess; and don't declare yourself someone else's partner on your own, in particular is the other person never treats you as their partner. All I'm saying is that Silver-age Superman do indeed do buddy stuff with Superman's best friend Jimmy Olsen, I still haven't seen Silver-age Lois being regarded as a girlfriend by Superman in any way, so the title of "Superman's Girlfriend Lois Lane" is kind of not accurate at all.
Thanks so much for this dive into some more fun silver age madness! I’ve had a pretty rough day today, and this absolutely cheered me right up. Lois and Clark’s expressions are fantastic in this issue.
Always enjoy when Lois during the Silver Age did something different with her hair and she really rocked that ponytail. That story was so perfectly unhinged.
one idea i'd like to write someday, after it was suggested by another poster on a message board i frequent, is "What if Lois Lane became Earth's Green Lantern?", the idea being that she's investigating an ostensible UFO crash site which, of course, is the dying Abin Sur and so Abin Sur's ring goes to her. that may or may not stand to scrutiny, but it's still an early-alpha-phase idea :P (it would also be part of a much larger idea where the primary idea is that Kal-El "is" Lex Luthor, his rocket being discovered by the Luthors, but his still-basically-main-continuity morality leads him to run away in the face of their abuse instead of cutting their brakes so they'll die. he's called Al Luthor, or "Al L." partly to differentiate him from baseline Luthor)
@@AedanTheGrey another one for the same possible story is that Wonder Woman turns out to be Kara Zor-El, physically older than Kal this time because the time dilation thing (or whatever it was) doesn't happen and so she was at her typical age when she arrived on Earth while Kal was still a baby, becoming Diana's adopted daughter and the one who goes out into Man's World instead when the typical Wonder Woman origin story takes place
When she was taking him to the Fortress I was thinking that it was the perfect way to get rid of him. No one knew and what was he going to do, walk home? …dressed like that?
Okay seriously we need to get Sasha a job with DC doing voice overs of all of the silver and golden age comics. Especially the supergirl and Superman’s girlfriend Lois lane stories.
Here's a question. With all the random handsome men that Lois has married or almost married in order to make Superman jealous, why has Lois never tried to marry Clark Kent? It's not like he's ugly.
Man these Superman 's Girlfirend Lois Lane episodes you do gives me all the sustenance now so keep them coming pls. Also this might be the best one yet. 😂
I have been binge watching your live streams almost every night this past week ! Thanks for some really fun videos, I really enjoy your sense of humor! Take care
I live how they just escalated so that they can hit all the tropes. I will say that it’s funny that when Lois is the one trying to out Clark he has an almost “oh you” attitude about it but when Lois is in the position Crark is a pest. Perhaps the super computer is subtly throwing some shade at Lois. “See, this is how annoying all your little tricks are.”
I'm actually SUPER ok with Lois relishing in Clark's agony in the bank vault. Karma for everything he's put her through in the main universe lol But also... Virtual Clark is a literal stalker.
Beware any producer or Tv show maker or comic book writer if You make superman date or be with someone other than lois Those old fans will come after you and They will rage
Superman needs to work on his pick-up lines, "Hey Lois, want to come up to the Fortress of Solitude and see my trophies?" wink wink. Whenever I see the 'Imaginary Tale" tagline now- I get a mental chuckle, (but not back then!) Only a comic book fan whose truly invested would see an imaginary tale in an already imagined comic book and understand, "Okay, so this story doesn't really count.....it's imaginary....." Even the computer sim gives them a dysfunctional relationship, there's no happy ending anywhere! Another great video- do you do voice work elsewhere? If not, you should!
Krypton Girl is a fun alias and feels more unique/interesting than just Super(man/woman/girl/boy). I'd love it if modern writers gave the Super family some more unique hero identities. All in should've given us Lois Lane Krypton Woman 😂.
It's because the Superman-Lois-Clark "triangle" was so unhinged for so long that I was very glad, in the early 1980s, that Lana became interested in Clark-as-Clark. I was definitely a Clark-and-Lana "shipper" in those late pre-Crisis days.
But, if you are on a role reversal kick check out the Supergirl Back Up Feature in Action Comics #332 & 333, "How Superwoman Trained Superboy", in which we find out what would happen if Kara was the Senior Super and Kal El the teenaged neophyte noob, hint, he doesn't take direction at all well.
This was fantastic! I really hope that you'll deliver on more Krypton Girl - I'd be sad if this is her only outing. I'm also very interested in Midnight Girl - was that superheroine made up for the imaginary tale, or was she based on a 'real' superhero? I could see a fun Midnight Girl/High Noon dynamic like with Hawk and Dove.
Night Girl was a recurring character in the Legion of Super-Heroes stories. She was a member of the "Legion of Substitute Heroes", a group that was made up of heroes who had been rejected for membership in the main Legion.
If everything is the same, just the roles flipped, then that means someone is making life-like mannequins of Clark Kent for the Clark Kent stalker rooms. You know, of all the people Clark Kent will marry other than Krypton Girl!
I hate Lois, why can’t Superman/Clark get a new girlfriend that is better then Lois 😠. But I will write ✍️ a new girlfriend for him that likes him really and not because he is Superman.
Oh, I always love these Superman's Girl Friend Lois Lane reviews! So many unhinged hijinks! So many Kurt Schaffenburger faces! Plus, an implied experimented-in-college phase for Lois.
His relationship with Lori really showed off his altruism fetish, which makes sense since Superman’s a boyscout. But then you have this comic that shows of a very different side to Silver Age Superman.
Who Else Loves Krypton Girl's Boyfriend Clark Kent lol?
The simulation really nailed the formula
First the wichowskis stole this concept, than matrix name from transformers?
Ah, peak Silver Age madness! What's not to love?
Nope. He's any A-Hole.
Wait, so can Supermans hair not be cut with scissors? How does he cut it?
Wow, AI Clark jumped from "Let me try to non-lethally cut her hair" to "Let me suffocate both of us in a bank vault" quick! He needs to lay off that AI coffee!
This is my favorite genre of story: characters being so unhinged that the story can only descend into chaos.
Without the dialogue, the thumbnail makes it look like Lois caught Clark sneaking out at night, and is sending him to his room
That sound far too healthy for the Silver Age era
Clark Kent's next evil plan was to steal Christmas from the Whos
6:08 "Transistors! I will eat them! No one will ever know!"
Much less noticable than just putting them in her pocket.
@@Dunybrook We need Ironman to put them in some rollerskates.
Unhand those transistors Dan Backslide!
"He drives me to DRINK!"
"Clark Kent must be alone and unprotected!"
I'm not sure what was rarer - Lois and/or Clark actually having a moment of empathy towards the other, or a Night Girl appearance!
I prefer the continuities where Lois knows Clark's secret and they have a healthy relationship, but there is undeniably something entertaining about visiting the Silver Age shenanigans from time to time...
"LOIS! LEARN TO CODE!" Sasha's Superman and Batman impressions are excellent. These Silver Age episodes are always such fun.
I don't think Lois realise that knowing Superman secret identity is gonna help her in her getting wedd to Superman scheme
I would be suspicious if after all this Superman flew me in front of a computer that can answer any possible answer. And then left. She probably doesn't want for it to go into Lockdown Mode immediately after asking . Although... doesn't this kinda answer who Superman is in a way? Wow, this was quite a story. I love how Lois has an actual insight into how her "real world" behavior might be adversely affecting Superman's career. I did NOT see self-awareness-assessment coming at the end of a Silver Age DC tale!
It's okay - they hadn't got around to inventing proper continuity yet, so she shakes it off immediately...

I like imaging lois and/or clark telling jon about these wacky adventures
So, this is basically fanfic taking form of the canon story. I really love these sweat and strange slice of life stories. They make the world feel grounded and big.
Krypton Girl's birth name was Lo-Es!
I love that the computer simulation includes thought bubbles.
These people deserve each other
AI Clark is a menace lmao! These silver age stories are the gift that keeps giving.
Krypton Girl's quite the fashion plate!
Hey, DC: I said I want my friggin Lois Lane Silver Omnibus!
…And I mean IT ! ✌️
Even the poorly aged ones, they're interesting to look at..!
Never mind Lori Lemaris, I want to know what Lois' relationship is with Lana Lang in the Krypton Girl universe!
Superman.”
When Kyrypton Woman took Clark to Fortress, I expected Clark to start a simulation about if if was from Krypton.
Lois is an icon.

Lois truly learning that she shouldn't harass Clark shows the bookend itself is the imaginary story.
Is it just me or does Krypton Girl sound like a Make Up brand?
Maybe she’s born with it

I love this channel. I kinda want to read this but I bet it's hard to find.
What the hell was with the Silver Age?!
A lot actually
That’s it, I need to read Superman’s girlfriend Lois Lane
How the point of this story is if Lois was Superman she would just not put up with herself and basically do something psychotic to herself.
Love it every time. Best series ever!

Can we hear more about night girl? I've never heard of her she looks cool. What powers do "the night" give her?
Love your vids! Since you've done a few episodes on a few of the forgotten New 52 villains, would you do an episode on Emperor Penguin?
Hilarious! Thanks for sharing this with us. Also, I now need to hear you do more computer voicing 😂

I mean, it makes sense especially being one of the few couples that have maintained a marriage. Idk why comics can’t let more heroes get married.
Most Meta episode yet !!!
That was really casual in the vault over Clark's literally running low on oxygen...
The enjoyment they get messing with each other reminds me of Smallville. If they get on your nerves like no other, it's meant to be.
