I remember building one. At that time, I wasn't a very competent modeler. My models had huge seam lines running through them. So the fit/engineering is something I didn't really scrutinize as much as I do today. But I still remember it having fairly large gaps and seems. And some of the fuselage parts require a lot of wrestling to fit together. The biggest headache for me was the landing gear. It's a two-part design attached together with a pivot. So getting the angles wrong is very easy. Do you have any recommendations? I'm thinking of having another go. I now live in China (Brit expat). They cost about £85 in the UK, but less than £30 in China! I'll throw on some Reskit aftermarket R-24 and R60m missiles!
Excellent review. I have this kit in the stash, and based on other reviews I have seen, the problems described are common! I've acquired the Reskit ejection seat for my example to avoid any canopy problems!
Thanks for the frank review. I also have the kit in the stash. Appreciate the pointers on what to watch out for. I hate putty and filler, so seems like I will be spending some time carving and shaving!
Currently working on a 1/48 RA-5C from Trumpeter and I find it’s much of the same, it’s a very well engineered kit but fitment and alignment is just not there along with quite a bit of flash in odd places

Thank you.
I was going for this kit soon.
I may now just get the Flanker for now and be happy with that.
Cheers Allan.
