I think that she was a mezzo during her younger years and she became a contralto latter. Her voice was lighter during those younger years. Thanks for this ❤
actually she never became a contralto, she was a lyric mezzo soprano and became a dramatic mezzo soprano(probably in 1998), even after 1998, she still have ease in B♭4-C♯5(and even in E♭5-19:13)
She has always been a contralto. A contralto voice is not fully developed at age 20 but you can't tell the difference between her and Sonny's voice most of the times. Sometimes sounds like a baritone or a tenor in lower register. Mezzo-soprano lol, she just can belt up high, doesn't make her a mezzo. Her head voice is also very contraltoish.
Personally I think she's underated in the vocal community, people only seem to see her as a performer , but to be able to hit those high notes and use her dynamics so well during the Cher show all while being a true contralto is so impressive to me. Thank you for this!!
I was so obsessed with the Cher show while making this, I literally watched all performances and that was definitely her prime tho 2014 belts are so good too
@vocalsbycyrus They are , thanks again for making this . Also, do you reckon she could go lower than a C3 at some point since it sounds somewhat comfortable for such an extreme point in her range
@@CianBrooks-ws8sf I definitely think so, I was so surprised that was her lowest note (maybe she has lower and I just couldn’t find it idk) but her seems very comfortable down there shame she doesn’t go that low since the 70s tho
@vocalsbycyrus Yeah , Cher stated she doesn't like her voice because of it's androgynous tone , so it makes sense that she would work on her higher range to try and mask that , she probably sounded too masculine for her liking at her lowest extremes
Hermosa voz, oscura, aterciopelada y con mucho sentido! Ella tiene una cobertura vocal que protege su instrumento, ella es el claro ejemplo de porque hay que cubrir la voz para que se conserve saludable por mucho tiempo.
Definitely. She’s actually a low mezzo today. She still isn’t comfortable singing very low, & is very comfortable belting in the upper 4th to mid 5th octave. A real Contralto would be some 1 like Princess Stewart or Bea Arthur.
@@geminikid1617They were female baritones, contralto profondos. Cher is a regular contralto. No any mezzo quality in her voice just a big range and a good beltig register. She is a good example of a true natural-born contralto.
@@vocalsbycyrusI know what you’re hearing, but it’s not actually there 😅 you’re hearing overtones from the resonance on “enTUHtain” but her voice doesn’t actually break/squeak on that part; she stays in full chest voice.
Her lower register is sublime. She really doesn't get the recognition she deserves as a vocalist. She's brilliant.
I love that you do vocal ranges for people of all genres of music and famous and more unknown singers too. Also the amount of research wow just wow

She mostly just started manipulating her voice more to darken it. She never got any lower notes.

20:48 BEST F5 BELT FROM CHER. 😍
Love her voice

What a cool video, I rarely see content about Cher's voice, I really like her singing, very interesting to hear her higher register. Thanks!

So many of these songs Miley has covered and done the same note the same exact way too. Oh Miley’s a fan.
And even the same moves too, Miley knows what an icon is
Godmother is serving VOCALS❤for six decades. THERE'S NO OTHER CHER.
Surprising she has projection issues in her lows 🫣
Cuz she was never rlly a low low voice, her voice still sits low but she's kinda doing that tongue depressing thing to make her tone sound darker
13:17 that little squeak is to die for 😍
Also did you make all the videos more hd or were they like this already? These old clips look so good
Yeah capcut is a blessing when it comes to that
13:21 was I gay? was I gay??
Somebody please make a meme of it hah
😂😂😂
The Godmother of Pop: Cher
Alto contralto❤❤
23:23 OMG the upper extension on this woman!!
aww
20:36 that was a good F5
Do you take requests or just do videos outside of Miley for yourself?
This one and SZA were requests but all the other ones were my own and willingness to discover an artist
Justin Moore
What happened to the other clips that were here where she hit f5?
They might have been lip synced or sang in a different key from the original that had the F5s
@@CianBrooks-ws8sf yeah, I noticed the video cut all the F5's in the end for the belts
1:54 not her sounding more manly than the man 😭
😍👏👏👏🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🌹🤞❤❤❤❤❤❤❤👍

23:01 there’s no B5 there? 😭
It’s a short squeak lol
