@@UnionPacific1997 that’s a tough choice. 2ns Gen Sequoia has upgrade chassis and timing chains.. but if you can find even a 1997-2002 LC low mileage, that’s things are unstoppable.
I’m in the exact boat. Both the 4.7l and 5.7l are great, but I trust my 4.7l very much. Currently at 217k on my ‘09 miles and still starts up without as if it was new.
I like it! My parents just bought one. Big. Rides great. A Lot of room. Rear climate control. My mom loves it. They like jeeps too, so do I, and they owned a 95 5.2 Cherokee that was traded at 157,000 miles but it was time to upgrade. but the jeeps just weren't big enough for the family. The Sequoia seats 8 ;-) and I can recline, stretch out, and slide my seat back and forth, without touching the front seat all the way back lol. Awesome ride. Period.
@@MandusahRamirez not its not, not even remotely close. This one is a dual overhead cam 32 valve engine, the gm is a pushrod cam in block v8, firing order is different too. There is nothing remotely eben similar to those two engines other than they are v8 engines lmao
@@Jackmerius_Tacktheretrix Yeah I’m sure they changed some parts... Just bought a 2010 I love this monster 278 km on it and it's the best driving beast and newest truck I've ever owned,Sorry not a millionaire but is I was still would get this beast
I think its normal. Might be due to moisture in the exhaust pipe. I have a 2016 sr5 2wd, i had lots of white smoke come out, but nothing happens and it goes back to normal.
My sister rented one. I sat in the driver seat and I must say IT'S HUGE it's like driving a school bus lol granted 6.5 seconds is in impressive but again this isn't an SUV you would race on a track
QX56. If the added price premium is not an issue the QX is a better overall suv, especially with it's option suspension which works just like that of a Range Rover Sport
that's just ridiculous lol the camry with the 3.5L V6 already does 0-60 in a tick under 7 seconds....tho i admit it would be cool to start up a Camry and hear a V8 Growl coming out the pipes
Psa they SUCKs in snow, its to heavy or something it cant stop or steer itself plus it eats gas at an unspeakable rate, its been my rental for almost a month, I miss my expedition, this is a stupid 'vehicle'

In terms of fastest of course

Its close to 5.

Thank you for posting these retro reviews. I come back to these all the time for reference when buying used vehicles.
With these crazy car prices, oh yeah... so many people complain about the gas on sequoia but I had a cousin with over 380K miles and ran like a top

I just became an owner of a 2008 SR5 Sequoia 4.7 with part time 4x4. I love it, only wish I could afford the 5.7
How many miles?
That 4.7 will last forever though. Those two tundras with 1 million miles on the original engine with zero engine work were both 4.7 v8s.
I’m in the exact boat. Both the 4.7l and 5.7l are great, but I trust my 4.7l very much. Currently at 217k on my ‘09 miles and still starts up without as if it was new.
Road test for the 2001-07 Sequoia?
yes please!!!!
I have the sr5 4x4 model and its really great for the family and vacations
If you still have this vehicle, how expensive is filling it up with gas?

Had to come back to compare this to the new 2023 version that was announced.
13 city/18 highway means that the vehicle is safe and that you and your family can travel comfortably.
BEAST!
Underrated.
2:59 - awesome wheel chirpping sound. Nice launch too.
Great SUV. I have two!
steering in these elephants are awesome
i like the sequoia AND the tahoe/suburban
I bet that John Davis guy is short, he makes the Sequoia look like a monster! That truck makes my 2004 Durango look like a compact
The only possibly better big SUV would be the Excursion...and it's dead. Toyota's awesome.

Dear Motorweek:
Learn how to draw a Toyota logo, for Christ's sake. It's been around for almost TWENTY YEARS!!!!!!
they still make it...
Where is the road test for the 2001-2007 Sequoia?
Interesting to see how RUclips car videos have changed since this was made.
SUVs like this are worth every penny at the pump
Thank God it isn't the last full size body on frame SUV.
the cars that are related to the 2008-present Toyota Sequoia is the
2007-present Toyota Tundra
Too bad they removed the truck like column shifter.
An 2008 seqoua with 204,000 miles white smoke came out of exhaust for 2min on start up then went away after 2min should I buy it

Lol. I am that kind of a maniac.

@Slool wrong see Motorweek Chevy Trailblazer SS
Today a new video premiered... With this exact vehicle lol
Now it's the oldest body-on-frame SUV on the market lol
@TILOTV Yukons are heavier and slower but the deanli has more luxury
It’s been 12 years and not much has changed with the Sequoia. Disappointing
@macktenful Don't be a fool... Yukons couldn't even compete with Sequoias.... Sequoia rules....
@Slool umm, no that will be the Range Rover. fastest SUV is the porsche cayenne
I hate my mother didn't get one of these things.
@Bennett14ify He said FULL SIZED, europeans can only make midsized, not 8 passenger fullsized body on on frame, amazing suvs like this.
Zach Davis, the Land Rover Discovery/LR4 is a more capable suv on and off road. It's European and you only lose one person, seats 7.
^ Agreed. Chevy's 3rd row already fails in my opinion, too bad.
@Slool and best built and most American, Toyota> Domestic!
Adjustable rear suspension? Damn
Has air bags in the back. 1 gen sequoia has it too.
I love mine
omg beatiful
@Jeremandre Trailblazer was considered a midsized SUV. GMs fullsized SUVs are the Tahoe, Yukon, Suburban, and Yukon XL.
QX56. If the added price premium is not an issue the QX is a better overall suv, especially with it's option suspension which works just like that of a Range Rover Sport
QX56 didn't hold up.
No 2009's were produced
@Slool , maybe not for long, the new infinity qx56, 400hp and 417 ft lbs, maybe we'll have a comparison text on mw!
@Thecarguy1254 I stand corrected
@Tuppoo94 thats ryt..very quick.,quick recall!!
It's OK it's OK buddy gm still has the quickest blown head gasket 👍😆
Could someone do an engine swap and put this engine in a Camry? Lmao would that be fast?
