Koreans react to Intramuros!? | Oppa Tour Ep.1-8

- Korea and the Philippines have many things in common. One of them must be our painful past memories. Both two countries I love had experienced colonial rule by other countries...so that's why I wanted to bring my Korean friend, MinJune, to Intramuros and see how he would feel about the recent history of the Philippines.
The more I get to know about the Philippines, the more I realize that there are many things in common including our past.
In this video, my Korean friend, MinJune, is going to visit some of the historic structures in Intramuros such as Manila Cathedral and San Agustin. As this is going to be a long video, I just made this Intramuros episode into two parts!

The oldest cathedral is San Agustin Church right in front of Casa Manila Museum and Bambike. I used to tour people in Fort Santiago and Casa Manila and speak a little Korean. :D

Omo Oppa. 😍 Everytime i'm stressed i go to intramuros. It's so very nice there and Peaceful that's why i go to Intra and Manila Cathedral also to pray.
Intramuros became the most spanish-influenced part of manila because spaniards (spanish colonizers) stayed here on their last days in the Philippines before they sell the country to america 'under treaty of Paris'. In historical movies (heneral luna, I guess?), The scene where spaniards exited the main entrance of intramuros while american soldiers entered was shown. Besides intramuros, there are many spanish-influenced places in the country such as vigan, zamboanga, etc.

BTW, have you told your friend about how the Pilipinos and the Americans helped South Korea during your war with North Korea and Chinese communists in 1950 to 1955? I don't have much details but you can check it out in Google or Wikipedia.

Just a video idea: Pinoy Pasalubong. Just the usual espasol, yema, pastillas, lengua, otap etc. It just came to me since Pasalubong is a part of any Filipino's tour. Even when we're only coming back from the neighbouring provinces we have to bring Pasalubong for our families and friends. Do you have this culture in Korea too?
