When I was young I spent a month in a youth exchange program and German course in a small village called Ratzenried, not far from Memmingen. The airport was military back then, FDH was not open for civil aviation either, and I had to fly to Munich (read: *Riem* Airport, now long demolished, so you can see how long ago that was - I'm old!), which was the nearest commercial airport at the time, and the school had a van to take us to the village, about 2 hours by road. The Allgäu area is beautiful and peaceful, I have great memories of it.
I really don't understand why they had the trouble (and expense, as the airport charges it to the airline, and it's not cheap, which is why low-cost airlines mostly use remote positions) of putting the plane on a jet bridge to then have all passengers board by the rear stairs... It makes no sense, it would be more effective and cheaper to bus them to a remote position, as it's usually done in such cases.
At Other Airports Around Europe They Use A Bit Of Jet Bridge But They Have Steps And Are Both All Low Cost Airlines Including Easyjet Wizz Air And Ryanair Including BHX Have Used This Option But Airports Like Luton You Have To Walk To The Plane Outside And Some Airport Like Bergamo Use Buses To Take You To The Plane Better Options To Airport Like Belgrade To Walk To The Back Of The Plane Or Alternative Like Bucharest Use Jet Bridges And At The Back The Stairs Much Better Than This Option.
The reason mostly why you didnt enter at main (first) door is because the gate A5 (glassy one) is made for terminal 2 which is used (and other glassy gates) for commercial flights (regullar airlines), and the airport because of the reason will not open main door, and push you to use back door not to give you a full regullar experience that only commercial flights have, because wizzair is low budget airline
I dont understand something. It seems 2 me that the Memmingen airport is n isolated airport. So thede airport to nothing and nowhere connects.... O! I'm speaking about the memmingen airport sorry! It is like frankfurt hahn... íFrankfurt is lnly da name of the airport but nothing connecting 2 Frankfurt am Main, because it is 2 hours from Frankfurt am Main... That airport's name is Munich Memmingen... yes, itha wizair used 2 have flights between Budapest and that shit airport ... But i dont remember what airline was it... perhaps Lufthansa o Wizzair....
