- WISH I NEVER SOLD LOTS OF THINGS LIKE MY ERCOUPE,55CHEVY,ALL MY KAWASAKI H1s,AND LUCKILY I NEVER SOLD MY GS1100E.ONE OF THE BEST DECISIONS OF MY LIFE RIGHT AFTER MARRYING KARYN.
Just bought another 1982 gs1100e , thanks windy!
That is the exact bike (different VIN) that I rode before meeting my wife to be in 1983. My brother had Triumph and Suzuki franchises in the 1970s and early 1980's so I got to ride the 750 when it was new. Never rode a GS 1000 but will Never forget riding a new "GS 11" as we called it, we always said we should have kept one back.
Ercoupes are such lovely planes. As is your GS1100!
That is one Beautiful motorcycle mister - Good for you for having the smarts to buy it, and maintain it the way you have - all of these years.
Very very nice !!
I have a gs1150ef rescued from a drag conversion sitting in my dad's garage that still needs a drilled and rethreaded bolt on the header, and a ton of body work. I didn't understand the machine coming off of an old yamaha 550 as my learner and before I could it quickly came down with a myriad of issues that I was working through and haven't rode it since I hit a wall with that header. Your video made me realize I kinda gave up on it before I could experience it! Great video, great bike! Thanks!
I HAVE UPGRADED TO EBC FLOATING ROTORS AND STEEL LINES ALL AROUND FOR IMPROVED BRAKING.
MANY BIKES OF THAT ERA USED THESE CALIPERS THESE HAD YAM LOGOS AND REPLACED ORIGINALS.
I BELIEVE HE DESIGNED THE BMW 90S ALSO ? 82 and 83 ARE AMONG THE NICEST LOOKING BIKES EVER IN MY HUMBLE OPINION.
Have a 83' E 16v with 30k on the od. Got it from an auction 25 yrs ago for $175. It is large, heavy with og rims with a skinny 140 and it is still a missile. Boils the tire at will.
845 INSULATOR WAX,got mine from amazon ,good stuff.
WISH I HAD AN XKE MY WIFE'S FAVORITE CAR.
BOIL THE TIRES,COOK THE BRAKES,it will keep you young.
SADLY I DO NOT HAVE THE PAINT CODE BUT TRY COLOR RITE AS A GOOD CHOICE.
I had one, put a Hannigan fairing on it which made it into a true sport touring machine. Rode the backroads of Nevada all day long at 90 plus. Does that bike have the stock brakes? Brakes were not as good as some other bikes in the day. I also put on a fork brace and machined off the bottom of the fork legs then welded on a 4-stud axle clamp to stiffen the front end and make the bike handle a LOT better. Sold it after several incidents involving stupid drivers, then progressed to something safer involving racing bikes across the desert at 80 mph.
Hi Windy, really enjoy your videos. I have just bought a GSX1100 that I am restoring. Would you know thew paint colour and code for this bike?
They had a 4 year model run, with this chassis and engine. Different bodywork.I had Its slightly older brother. Year1980. What is the Yamaha logo on the rear caliper?
Did you know that Hans Muth designed the bodywork?
Well, arent you lucky...must be nice
