I have an update on the bass price. For this year, it went up to $199.99, maybe because of the inflation. At least I got mine before the value went up. The bass is pretty great for the money I spent. Maybe, in the future, I’m going to do some upgrades on the bass, new strings, new pickups, depends on the money I have. Great review! Thanks for sharing!
They also seem to hold their value pretty well too. I see them for sale used for close to the price of a new one (sometimes more if you have to pay for shipping).

I am kind of bored to ear that a short scale bass is for people who are small, have small hands, whatever.! I'm a relatively good bassist. Played for many years. Been very "snobbish" about bass guitars. I looked down on short scale basses and thought that real bass players naturally play long scale.
I've had problems with my (old) hands and tried short scale bass....a Danelectro Longhorn which I now own. Also others...Gibson EB 3 for example. I take back everything I said about short scale bass guitars. Sounds fantastic. Short scale are real basses in their own right. I wish I understood that earlier! The good news is that these days short scales have become more accepted by professionals. New models are made by several fine brands.
I bought one a couple of years ago. I put a Seamor Duncan Pick up on it- and heavier strings and it sounds great. I'm a guitar player so it was OK for me. Easy to play, ,and a 30 year old Marshall amp suits me fine.

For a child to learn, wouldn’t you agree? Less strings, less emphasis on chords for a beginner. I am not saying bass is easier than guitar in general. I say this based on my personal experience of having children and seeing how they prefer bass and ukulele to guitar.
