Im somewhat new to boxing hadn't heard much of Bivol but I absolutely love the way he handled himself not flashy quiet guy who is an excellent boxer. The put your head down and go to work type of dude I love that! So many boxers today have fake emotions playing up to the promoters which I do understand but its sad.

It went as I thought it would, Canelo is not a light heavyweight fighter but he took the risk which is what boxing is all about. Congrats to Bivol, a great fighter.
For a second before the decision was announced I thought we were going to get another boxing travesty. Thankfully I was mistaken and we got the right result albeit that the margin was far wider than the actual scorecards. Very impressed with Bivol, first time I've seen him fight and if they do it again I can see the same result. His defence was excellent and Canelo got well frustrated. Bivol didn't fall into any traps laid by Canelo and for the most part stayed off the ropes. An excellent performance.

What people don't realize is that Billy Joe, Kovalev and Plant outboxed Canelo for most of their match but they just didn't have power or physical condition to threaten him. He's always had flaws in his game but his power in the latter stages always made up for it. This is why we say Ward beats Canelo, because Ward as a boxer is more skilled, technical and can take punches. This is why we say Prime Floyd wins because Prime Floyd is about 147-154 and Prime Canelo is 160-168, Floyd will be too fast and technical and he'll never fight Canelo at 158 and above. This is why we say Usyk wins, He's got the boxing skills, footwork and being naturally heavier he can take shots better. Skilled boxers has always been his weakness, but he usually KO's them late in the fight.

when I started seeing Canelo coming to fight weeks in silk pyjamas and gold watches I started to think that he might have lost a bit from his fighter's mindset. He might still train very hard and have talent but he doesn't seem to have the same energy as in both Golovkin fights for instancd. This entrance speaks of itself. If I see him coming out again like this in fight week before the revenge, if it occurs, then I'd start to think that he might have get his win the hard way.

I had Bivol winning 118-110. His hand speed, accuracy, foot work, defense and composure mixed with him able to mentally and physically break Canelo down is what won the fight for him by a big margin.
Canelo was schooled and looked like the underdog in this fight. Looked like he spent too much time anticipating and looking for that knock out punch, didn't look interested in actually boxing Bivol. Bivol kept canelo at bay with the jab and defended well barely dropping his hands, made sure he stood his ground and not allowing canelo to bully him. The judges score card was a disgrace. 115-113 to Bivol is a joke.
BIVOL had no aim to knockout Canelo. But once Canelo would decide for a rematch as per contract ...then BIVOL would use some of his aggressiveness like what he did to PASCAL....that may drop Canelo into the canvas!

For a second before the decision was announced I thought we were going to get another boxing travesty. Thankfully I was mistaken and we got the right result albeit that the margin was far wider than the actual scorecards. Very impressed with Bivol, first time I've seen him fight and if they do it again I can see the same result. His defence was excellent and Canelo got well frustrated. Bivol didn't fall into any traps laid by Canelo and for the most part stayed off the ropes. An excellent performance.

What people don't realize is that Billy Joe, Kovalev and Plant outboxed Canelo for most of their match but they just didn't have power or physical condition to threaten him. He's always had flaws in his game but his power in the latter stages always made up for it.
This is why we say Ward beats Canelo, because Ward as a boxer is more skilled, technical and can take punches. This is why we say Prime Floyd wins because Prime Floyd is about 147-154 and Prime Canelo is 160-168, Floyd will be too fast and technical and he'll never fight Canelo at 158 and above. This is why we say Usyk wins, He's got the boxing skills, footwork and being naturally heavier he can take shots better. Skilled boxers has always been his weakness, but he usually KO's them late in the fight.

I think 175 is definitely to big for canelo, and bivol was in a different class, best he's ever looked.
I'm a Canelo fan but agree. Even at the same weight, Bivol's bigger frame made a difference. Canelo couldn't bully him like his he usually does to people.

when I started seeing Canelo coming to fight weeks in silk pyjamas and gold watches I started to think that he might have lost a bit from his fighter's mindset. He might still train very hard and have talent but he doesn't seem to have the same energy as in both Golovkin fights for instancd. This entrance speaks of itself. If I see him coming out again like this in fight week before the revenge, if it occurs, then I'd start to think that he might have get his win the hard way.

I had Bivol winning 118-110. His hand speed, accuracy, foot work, defense and composure mixed with him able to mentally and physically break Canelo down is what won the fight for him by a big margin.
Canelo was schooled and looked like the underdog in this fight. Looked like he spent too much time anticipating and looking for that knock out punch, didn't look interested in actually boxing Bivol.
Bivol kept canelo at bay with the jab and defended well barely dropping his hands, made sure he stood his ground and not allowing canelo to bully him.
The judges score card was a disgrace. 115-113 to Bivol is a joke.
