My first real heli was the Blade 230 V2. This little heli is awesome. Then I purchased the Blade 150 for the fun factor. I keep both of them in the car. I'm still a scale pilot, though I did get the Align 450L RTF, which is another level of flying. I have a long way to go with it. Not rushing. I just enjoy scale flying. Come what may I will always have a 230 and 150. I'm an old dude (77) and I still can't pass up a toy store. Good and safe flying everybody.

Anything helicopters is A-OK with me guys, and the 230s v2 is a pretty cool heli that I enjoy and keep in the car with some charged batteries for them moments I'm at or in a large area to catch a flight.

Nice review. Got this heli to after being frustrated with a nano cp lol. Safe mode is great yes but you learn bad habits aswell. And yeah heli's are indeed the most fun but the learningcurve to go into 3d is something that will take years. You really got to be motivated to learn and practice alot on a sim.

Great Review! Also good to see the safe mode delivers as promised.

Was it the the Blade SR you flew 10yrs ago in 2011.. Cause that's really what the 230s v2 is, but it has been improved drastically!! They got rid of the brushed tail motor that would blow out and cause crashes.. The SR was a nice heli and nice looking, but that gyro it had and that brushed tail motor was its down fall.. But remember it was the improvement from the Blade CP.. Its come along away tech wise in 11 years!!

Replaced that plastic tail rotor with a carbon fiber. Most of the whining sound in gone. Also replaced the swashplate with a machined aluminum unit,

I just ordered this yesterday and didn’t see it till after but the flight time is a concern of mine shows to get maybe 5-6 minutes with the stock battery, so there seems to be some better mah batteries, there’s a onyx 1200mah a ovonic 1500mah and so on. Anyhow what do you suggest for a tid bit longer flight time? I’d like to get around 10 minutes. Any input is helpful thank you.

I usually use a slightly bigger 900 mah overlander battery. Can easily get 10 min or slightly more if I'm just doing hovering etc and not using a lot of collective

Question, Ive gotten pretty good with te blade nano s2, I can do all my hovers and I can do flips. Is that enough to move up to one of these?

Absolutely! Don’t know about flips first time you fly it, but, yes, actually designed for CP, collective pitch first heli’s 😃🚁

Nice. I am thinking of getting this. What transmitter do you recommend? I have a novus cp 125 CP with a tx 6024 transmitter. I can barely fly it...and what is safe mode

You guy’s are telling these people that this blade 230s v2 is a beginning helicopter no it’s not I been flying for over 14 years and I got this blade 230s and it gave me a nice flight and it’s fun to but it’s not good for beginnersflight at all

Experienced beginners, not a first EVER heli. I started with a fixed pitch WL V911, then a flybarless V911S, then this. But if you’ve only flown quads, or quad-copters from the toy store, I agree with the above statement. The rotor blades are strong enough to chop off fingers! There’s a video of a guy, obviously a brand new pilot flyer one while standing with his back to a garage(DON’T DO THIS!!) he had no room to get out of the way, and accidentally flew the heli out of control near him, and as he had nowhere to go! It did sever his finger!! LUCKY that was all!! Surgeon was able to re-attach his finger, but OMG!! DON’T fly this without a LOT of room!!

Absolutely Shane. This thing will almost instantly eat a beginner up, safe or no safe unless maybe your learning curve is like Mozart. I m in my second season, got this one only after several months. Of course a sim is essential (took several crashes to heed that advice) but I recommend a fixed pitch heli to start and even then I crashed the hell out of them and I think I had a pretty good knack from the start to boot. Unless you want to really take your time in safe and baby this thing maybe...but if your like most of us you are going to want to spread your wings a bit and bam...nose dive into the ground or end up hitting anything that can be hit.
If you insist don’t take it out of safe until you can handle it on a sim or get prepared for a crash course in learning how to repair it. 😉 Happy flying to all of us who dare to fly helis. Wave the flag proudly 🚁😉

@@davidjenkins6634 yes I’m an experienced beginner I like that phrase been flying a coaxial helicopter for years the helicopter hobby shop near me sells mainly blades 230 s helicopters I’m tempted to get but I’ve seen only people saying m2 much better?

I agree. No this is not the begin the beginning heli. Get some simulator time or start with one of in the house flying double bladed helis. Go slow forget 3D . Just like a musical instrument practice, practice, then one day it will come easy.
