  • Norway, public universities are generally funded by the government and do not charge tuition fees to students from Norway and the EU/EEA. However, students from outside the EU/EEA may be required to pay tuition fees from this year 2023.
    For the most up-to-date information on tuition fees and other costs associated with attending a university in Norway, I recommend contacting the university directly or visiting their website.

    Thank you Arvind for good explanation. I live in Norway and I have many friends who are studied in OsloMet, UIO and NTNU. I am gonna put some points here as per my knowledge. 1. Norway education is Ok Ok, not competitive, so far it was free it was good but now its not worth. 2. I myself work in IT industry here and salaries are not that good compared to Germany, Netherlands and some other central European countries, so if you are coming for tech career, do your research. 3. Norway is freakingly expensive, so saving would be very little, unless you are couple and both work in high skilled industry. 4. If you only want to get out of India and have money to spend, then you may think anyway. 5. Before you apply to any university here, check with universities about their status on this fees.

    What about Students dependent who is already here in Norway??
    Norway 🇳🇴 was in student choices because of free Education. Fee of this structure better to go some English speaking countries where we don’t need to stress on languages and we can have easy settlement options compared to Norway

    I'm 23 and had no experience at all before coming to Norway. Now, I am in second year and just started my thesis.. I already got a full time job offer with package as much as i would get in America. For those of you in dilemma now, If you are passionate about studies, just come. It's worth it.

    The date for voting on the bill has been scheduled i.e 23 May, this bill will be concluded by end of May(either rejection or adaption) by Strorting. Please raise your voice against the tuition fees for international students. #stoppskolepenger !

    I wouldn't go with that amount, that amount exclude even wealthier class in my country as they prefer well known universities for the same amount, for middle class folks in north africa this is just impossible for them.
    people would still choose countries like France, UK, netherlands, Italy, and such they have very moderate fees.
    don't forget that I personally know people managed to study in UK because UK has a much more capitalistic settings and pay is relatively high, that's how they could afford to pay tuition and save money to live.

    Implementing the tuition fee is ok, but from 2024.
    It is not sensible because this is a large amount of money. this prices are so expensive even for students from developed countries. We must know that we have to pay tuition or not before applying and now it is so late and this rule must be implemented from 2024 😏

      Yeah it is so unfair for 2023 applicants. And even no scholarship scheme is available which is really rare around the globe. Actually that education minister wanted to apply from 2024 but he changed his mind and brought the plan forward to 2023...

    • @Mahdi_jafari
      @Mahdi_jafari Год назад

      @@chencheng-pr3iq I think they have to do that from 2024. Now is too late. Universities should become ready for that and provide the infrastructure. I have no doubt the number of students will will decrease and they have to downsize. The significant part time jobs are being done by int student. If they do not come to Norway, Small businesses will encounter the lack of bilingual young workforce.
      I hope that they will change their mind.

    So what you are saying is this new fee structure is not yet approved and implemented, am I right? So is UiS going ahead to charge the exorbitant fee on top of the subsistence financial amount of around $20,000 per year?
